This one took a long time to make! I spent 3 weeks working on just the vocals but I'm happy to say I landed on something I'm proud of.
Some of the stuff I cut out of this one had to do with rhyme schemes and why I wrote the lyrics the way I did. Something I've noticed is how much I dislike AAAA rhyme schemes (rhyming the same sound at the end of every line). There's something about it that feels cheesy and inexperienced; I had to cut out a whole rant about that because it was so long and uninteresting.
I also had to cut some stuff out in between talking about Phrase Banks and showing off the final lyrics which made it sound like I cranked this thing out pretty quickly. I wrote and rewrote the lyrics over the span of a few months but I couldn't figure out how to fix what I said in the edit. I started writing lyrics to this in October 2022 and didn't really finalize them until I was recording them (March 2023).
I hope you like this episode and I'd really appreciate it if you shared it too!

Please how do you record your vocals in such a way that you can set the Autotune melody with MIDI? Do you play the midi melody first and then fix the recording to that??

I start with the melody on maybe a piano and write lyrics that fit it, then record them. I usually go back and edit the melody after so it makes the lyrics fit better rhythmically. Sometimes the auto pitch correction sounds good without the midi routed in so I go back and listen through it once like that, kind of picking and choosing when I use the midi melody and when I use the automatic pitch correction. i hope this makes sense haha
