    IT’S HAPPENING 👁👁
There was so much I wanted to talk about in this episode! So many interesting things to cover but I didn’t want to turn this into a 25 minute video haha. The first draft of this was 30 minutes straight of me talking, not including clips.
    Things I took out:
    - why I haven’t been posting these to other platforms (i don’t have a good reason)
    - a section where I ranked the best content during this period (it’s just repeating what I already said)
    - a section about building out a fan profile and having a mental image of what your fans look like. it helps when you’re making decisions on your tone when writing and speaking but really just about every decision you make. Do I include this song in the playlist? Do I post this picture/meme? How do I talk about my music? What picture should I use first in the slideshow?
    - talking about my process for making content and what I do during a day (I’ve covered this before, it felt repetitive)

great video! congrats on the viral video, the idea of making your own spotify playlist and adding similar artists is such a good one. it'll definitely help your "Listeners also like" section come quicker/be more relevant. also great because if you keep promoting and updating the playlist, it will keep gaining followers and help your songs more and more. i'll definitely be trying that as well! the artistic performance is also something i've been wanting to try, since from what i've seen they do super well. yours looked great, unfortunate it didn't do better but that's just how tiktok is sometimes i guess.
as far as algorithmic plays go, andrew southworth made a great video called "We Cracked The Spotify Algorithm" which goes over it, but basically you can get on discover weekly if you get around 10k streams in a 28 day period (technically it seems like your song popularity score is what determines this, but streams in the last 28 days is the biggest influence of that) and release radar seems to be around 5k in 28 days. for the first song i ran ads for, i got right around 10k streams in the first month, and got a huge release radar push (1k streams). since my song just barely got into discover weekly, i haven't had a big push yet, but it is consistently getting about 200 streams a week for a total of 800 streams in 2 and a half months. right now the song has 15% of its plays from algorithmic playlists. not sure how helpful that information is, but figured i would put it out there for reference as an anecdotal data point.
absolutely loving the series, it is extremely helpful and entertaining to watch
edit: slightly off topic, but i just saw a new feature.fm feature that could be interesting for you to try. they added a feature where they will run facebook/instagram ads for you, and it uses their UI which is way more user friendly than the meta ad platform. it just came out a few days ago, but it seems like the easiest way to run ads for your song without having to learn the meta ad platform which is an absolute nightmare. i do have a paid feature.fm account (the artist variant, not the pro artist), but i believe they don't charge anything extra outside of that to do this (besides whatever you want to spend in advertising). could be something to check out!

How do you keep your TikToks from getting muted?

As somebody who does meme slideshow videos, a funny+popular sound is vital. a good place to start is with @realflyingfish 's pluggnb remixes. But also take the same sounds as other slideshows you'll see. also make sure to use all the relevant hashtags, and maybe try tagging somebody like destroy lonely because you'll get comments like "bro thinks he knows lone" (which is good for engagement) but also sometimes recommends videos that tag people you follow

i figured using a funny sound would work better but i think that kinda makes the music promo side of it less effective because people don't hear the song you're trying to push. thanks for the tips though
