Here's my notes on how I set everything up. If you have questions, you might be better off googling them or looking up RUclips videos because 1) I'm no expert lol and 2) this stuff changes pretty often so my steps could be outdated in a few months.
My Setup Steps - this is what worked for me:
1. Upload your music to Distrokid to get it on streaming platforms, use my affiliate link of course :)
2. Get a Facebook/Meta Ads Manager Account (connect your IG to a FB account, switch IG to Business Profile) - google it
3. Make a free ToneDen account, make a SmartLink page for your song. I used only Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and Deezer links; no audio preview because it would discourage click-through.
4. Link your ToneDen SmartLink page to the Meta Ads Manager via your Meta Pixel. After doing this, click through your ToneDen Smartlink to a streaming site option, ToneDen will update almost immediately and show you have a click from your city and then you know it works. Make sure to test that it's linked to your Meta Ads Account in the Events Manager Data Sources page, the clicks through to Spotify or Apple Music will register as a ViewContent event. 5. Plan out, Record, Edit ads for your song with a few variations. Feel free to copy my ad that worked, "if you like X and Y, you might like my music"
6. Create ad campaign in FB/Meta Ads Manager, objective should be one of the options that delivers "conversions" based on "View Content". Another Andrew GOATED tutorial • 42,000 Spotify Stream ...
7. For locations/audience I followed Andrew's advice again -- in short there are a few countries you should stay away from advertising for many reasons which he outlines in other videos. Full list is at 701 in this video • 30,000 Spotify Streams...

Your series and channel is so good, for me as I die artist and producer it’s so encouraging, thank you. One question, did the reaching point of 50 conversions in the learning phase was on one ad or a whole ad set? And did you got something like the learning limited state?

FINISHED THE SERIES (til now....). i disagree a lot of a lot of things, but anyways i never really promote any of my music................................. i'm preparing myself to finally do and maybe i come here 3 months from now and give my opinion hahahah sending all love and luck for you!
I'm glad that I did both tiktok and running ads because at the very least I learned a lot from it. I see other artists making it work on both so it's not a question of IF it's possible, but just how effective it is in 2023 for the amount of time and money I'm willing to invest. Thanks for watching!
