The gear is a problem but not for the reasons most think. a physique that is the product of just drugs and little work is a physique without personality. that's why the competitors today all look the same : they rely too much on the juice and too little on themselves,the result is someone who is shy,lacks confidence and presence on stage
Because at that point in his life he clearly still wanted to be a competitive bodybuilder. With the conscious decision to engage in a sport such as bodybuilding (in the IFBB), he felt it necessary for him to use performance enhancing drugs to remain competitive.
