Did you use matte finish or gloss finish on your first coat of modge podge?

how long does decoupage on wood last/hold up for?

A really long time in my experience. It’s hard to give an exact time frame. As long as it’s indoors and doesn’t get wet, it will last many years. The sealer will help it last longer too.
