By far the best video that y'all have produced! Very enjoyable and exciting adventure from start to finish. I hope you feel better, Roman, and can't wait to see all those beautiful rigs back out on the trails!
I appreciate that both tfl and mr truck put the mishaps and problems on camera it’s something most of the bigger channels won’t put on when they do a project truck or car and people need to see that their own project may encounter problems and that’s normal
Grew up on those mountains and always felt that solid suspension of the Blazer and K-trucks gave a sense that nothing was broke yet. Quit whining and ride
Excellent video guys! This makes me glad I’ve been supporting you on Patreon for the past 11 months! I really enjoyed how the video kept going after you guys called it a day, do more behind the scenes stuff like that!
take one leaf out of big green, put KYB gas-a-just shocks in back and monomax in front. Vuala! Might want a more solid front stabilizer bar. Beyond that there isn't a lot to do.
"My balls are draggin." Sounds liike a personal problem there Ken. Lol. I'd like to see more off roading videos like this one, nice job fast lane truck!
Andre's face definitely! Great video and we need more like them! Just don't need to destroy any of the new loaner vehicles that you get to test drive or you'll go out of business repairing them for the manufacturers!
Great video! I really love seeing both of these older trucks in action, especially Big Green. That is one damn good looking truck! I used to have one actually, a 73 shortbed K10, with the same lift height and tire size as BG. Yeah, with leaf springs it rode pretty stiff. Airing down always helped. FYI, the lift on that is blocks in the rear ("spacers") that go between the axles and the springs, (not the body) and front springs with more of an arch to them. Blocks in the front are dangerous and no lift kit maker recommends or sells them for front use. Stock GM front leaf springs on these trucks were pretty much flat, they had no arch to them. If anything, they had a negative arch. Mine rode much better with the stock, no arched springs. But it LOOKED way better with the lift, so it was a no brainer. There are companies out there that make softer riding leaves these days, finding a new suspension for BG should be easy. Also, ditching the front sway bar might help. I remember on my 73 it was a pretty beefy bar, and I'm sure it hindered articulation. Another thing is to check the front spring shackles. The front shackles on these are pretty short, what can happen if the spring packs are a little longer is that the end of the spring can reach the end of the shackle's travel and bottom on the frame. That will limit suspension travel and articulation, as well as cause a harsher ride. For the rear you could use flatter, stock style leaf springs, and do a shackle flip. It switches the position of the spring from above the axle to below it (like an old leaf sprung Jeep). Or in technical terms, converts from a tension shackle to a compression shackle. And lastly, I could have sworn I heard Roman say he wanted a lockable CENTER diff?? I must have misheard, because that would be ludicrous. Part time 4WD transfer cases have no center diff, so by nature they are always locked.
Fun & entertaining video .... a chance to blow off steam & enjoy yourselves ..... Big Green is a Beautiful Beast, Ram is an Ugly Brute .... loved coming along for the fun ... Andre in the submerging Hummer for the Off Road Grimace
That was fun to watch! Looks like Mr. Truck's Ram won't be having any offspring anytime soon. And, it looks like Andre himself is giving birth in that photo.😊 But what better to do than to have a taste for adventure, even the mosquitoes know that.
Roman had the best "I think I am dead" look. Mr Trucks balls went flat during the adventure. Give Big Green to Sarah-n-tune for a month and she can have dual turbo's, a supercharger, and a turbine with re-heat installed. Plus, she would give the headliner a wonderful floral print :-)
Andre has the best off road face lol. Great video, and I hope you are ok Roman. Having back issues sucks. I hope you guys will be able to get a proper suspension kit on Big Green. That would help it a lot, and not kill your back.
Just so you know in older vehicles with climate controls like what you have in “Big Green” when you put it on defrost the A/C compressor comes on. If it doesn’t then it’s broken.
Roman, take out one or two of the leafs of the leaf spring and take a try. It woul be muuuuch better. Actually thar truck is not going to take big loads or tow big stuffs, so it can work fine with a less stifer suspension
theres no point in putting money into those old springs but if you did that would help...it would cost about the same for brand new lighter springs as having the old ones re arched and new u bolts
If you do an epic at it you could have a really awesome Trail there especially with the rain in the hail I give Bravo's to both of those trucks for making it through all that mud
I would probably say Andre but then again it could be a tie between Andre and Tommy..!! This actually was a fun video to watch..!! GOOD JOB Guy's..!!👏👍
I really like Kent's truck. I feel like that generation of Ram is the pinnacle of offroad worthy half tons. Coil sprung D44 straight axle up front, 9.25" rear out back, EFI, and a lot of these had 3.92 gears. These have the makings of a great trail truck. If only it had a real motor, lol. Even then though, in low range out on the trail, even the 318 should have enough grunt. All simple stuff that works. Well, WHEN it works. It IS a Dodge after all. LOL
finally!!!! real vehicles, real off road tires, on a real off road trek!!!! no fear of damaging the $100k plus weanie wagons with real guys driving and having fun. Thanks for sharing. now go put some coil overs on them and don't look back for your hi-lift jack, spare gas tank, emergency kit, ..................................................
How was the efi fuel pump return lines run? Lots of bad reviews on the FiTech fuel delivery sump. Say it needs return line not to overheat. Did you run return lines to both tanks? If so, how does it know what tank to return to when you have duel tanks?
I know the AC is supposed to help defog due to drying the air but in my experience it's often counterproductive since the humidity condenses on the cold window and the cold air can absorb less moisture. It's miserable but more effective to crank the heat.
You know tho, it doesn't matter what truck you like or got, because it's all about what you like and what you want and who cares what anyone else thinks! Anyways I like the Ram because I have a 1997 Ram 1500 with a 360 V8 auto and so far it has 258,503 miles on it so far, which right now having a starter problem but can't knock it for having over 250,000 miles and 21 years old, with original engine and trans and still going, well after I get the starter on anyways. I like my truck and wouldn't trade it for anything, good video and keep up the good job.
Roman, Check out OffRoad Design. They’re from your neck of the woods in Colorado and specialize in full size Chevy Suspensions and off-road upgrades. If you want quality upgrades that perform you should look into them. Being from the same state maybe you could even collaborate for some upgrade videos!
you probably just forgot to take your low hanging hitch off, when you drop into holes the hitch will bottom out and make the ride ruffer and could get you stuck, nice vid guys, poor film crew getting rained on.
Andre definitely has the most humorous off-road face.
Zachary Martin 100%
Zachary Martin his face is ridiculous off reading he looks so scared all the time
By far the best video that y'all have produced! Very enjoyable and exciting adventure from start to finish. I hope you feel better, Roman, and can't wait to see all those beautiful rigs back out on the trails!
I'm subscribed to your channel. You and Chad produce great content man keep it up!
Why would both of you go off-road with out a full tank of gas? Number 1 rule, fill the tank.
Lesson learned
My thoughts exactly. Andre did the same thing not too long ago in the Hummer vs. Titan Cliffhanger 2.0 video.
Hey, anything to build the drama.
Please fix the rust on Big green, driving me crazy watching it on all those side shots :D But definitely great video!
We need more cheap truck vida not all of us can afford the newest truck.
Facts
Love that old truck. A proper truck.
I appreciate that both tfl and mr truck put the mishaps and problems on camera it’s something most of the bigger channels won’t put on when they do a project truck or car and people need to see that their own project may encounter problems and that’s normal
Haha 😂 Kent’s off-roading commentary is so funny
not gonna lie......thats a clean K10!😍🤘🏼🤠🤘🏼
Fords4life 91 A’s a Mopar fan, I agree
Grew up on those mountains and always felt that solid suspension of the Blazer and K-trucks gave a sense that nothing was broke yet. Quit whining and ride
love that chevy!
Love the channel guys.
Lol Andre looks like he's going off a cliff
Great video!
Looks like a lot of this could be done in 2wd
mike W this show isn’t exactly known for portraying REAL 4x4 situations.
Big green is still the best haha
More of these types of videos please!! Love seeing your guys' project trucks go at it! Especially the 2nd Gen Ram!
Excellent video guys! This makes me glad I’ve been supporting you on Patreon for the past 11 months! I really enjoyed how the video kept going after you guys called it a day, do more behind the scenes stuff like that!
can't wait to see what suspension you put on Big Green
Great video with older rides that people can actually afford!
Andre has the best off road face. Great video!
I hear that those truck nuts are actually a 1/16 scale model of Andrea’s.
Love the behind the scenes footage. Great video. I think Andre had the best off road face for sure.
take one leaf out of big green, put KYB gas-a-just shocks in back and monomax in front. Vuala! Might want a more solid front stabilizer bar. Beyond that there isn't a lot to do.
Thanks for the advice
Great video. I haven't been able to get out much this year but this felt like home.
Awesome video with some great shots! Love seeing the behind the scenes work that goes into making your videos.
Fun fun video ! Mr. Truck great to see him and always great seeing him having fun .
Thanks, it's always fun in a truck
Why would two professionals leave with "less than a full tank of fuel" ...???
Probably do not use the vehicles ever and do not want the fuel left over in the truck, or worried the tank straps will break once they fill the tank.
Finally, some real offroading. Great video
Great job guys this is video of the year!!!!!
I like how it started hailing and he still drove away from tommy haha
I really want to see that old Dodge get a decent rear diff
"My balls are draggin." Sounds liike a personal problem there Ken. Lol. I'd like to see more off roading videos like this one, nice job fast lane truck!
Andre's face definitely! Great video and we need more like them! Just don't need to destroy any of the new loaner vehicles that you get to test drive or you'll go out of business repairing them for the manufacturers!
I like mr. Trucks face. Looks Sinister like he's about to get into trouble lol
Great video! I really love seeing both of these older trucks in action, especially Big Green. That is one damn good looking truck! Ya know, as thirsty as Big Green is, you should add a second fuel tank so you don't run out of gas while you're... oh, wait...
Kent.... your nuts are dragging... must have been a hot day
Big green all day long ,very very good video both of y'all. More more more
Best video so far, keep up the great work!
Man you just have to love the simplicity with Big Green. Rough ride or not that thing is old school so what more can be expected?
"Air down for what" - Mr. Truck
You guys need to bring some jerry cans with you next time. Just in case.
They could just put a little gas in the truck also.
Gosh who knew there were thunderstorms in the mountains of Colorado during the Summer XD
Andre definitely gets my vote. He is hilarious to watch go off road.
This is great work guys
Fun & entertaining video .... a chance to blow off steam & enjoy yourselves .....
Big Green is a Beautiful Beast, Ram is an Ugly Brute .... loved coming along for the fun ...
Andre in the submerging Hummer for the Off Road Grimace
Awesome video. Would love more tests on that trail.
Andre has the best face by far! Boy, he looks like he just scraped the bottom of his truck!
That was fun to watch! Looks like Mr. Truck's Ram won't be having any offspring anytime soon. And, it looks like Andre himself is giving birth in that photo.😊 But what better to do than to have a taste for adventure, even the mosquitoes know that.
Go big green!!!
Favorite off road face- ANDRE!!!!😂😂😂😂😂
Roman had the best "I think I am dead" look. Mr Trucks balls went flat during the adventure. Give Big Green to Sarah-n-tune for a month and she can have dual turbo's, a supercharger, and a turbine with re-heat installed. Plus, she would give the headliner a wonderful floral print :-)

Big Green’s fuel light is the dash lights when the engine stalls.😜
Just so you know in older vehicles with climate controls like what you have in “Big Green” when you put it on defrost the A/C compressor comes on. If it doesn’t then it’s broken.
MrRicard75 so vehicles without AC have no defrost? Honestly curious.
Great video, guys!
3:03 Always “ask the guy in the jeep” because #alreadybeentheredonethat

Fix that fender rust before its really bad
Too late ;-(
Just buy some new bedsides & put 'em on it!👍
Great video,..very enjoyable......I voted for Andre's picture!
MR truck he drops the F bomb lol I love it !!!!! Lol 😂
So awesome, love myself some mud!
I love how Roman spends the whole time bitching about how miserable the day is, and leaves Tommy out in the rain, hail, and mud.
I would probably say Andre but then again it could be a tie between Andre and Tommy..!! This actually was a fun video to watch..!! GOOD JOB Guy's..!!👏👍
Please keep fixing on BIG GREEN love that truck.
Def Tommy for having to shoot video while getting hailed on lol
rule #1 when off roading: fill up the fuel before heading out!! c'mon Roman!
I really like Kent's truck. I feel like that generation of Ram is the pinnacle of offroad worthy half tons. 4 wheel drive quits when you run out of gas.
Absolutely love this
Missed big green! Hopefully we will see suspension upgrade and lift soon!
I know why the Dodge didn't have a hard time, it wrong it's big balls this time!😂😂😂
Fords4life91 >>> excactly. Those are on-road balls Mr. Truck, you forgot to swap them out for the off-road versions, and air them down ;-)
More of that guy in the hat. One of your best videos yet.
finally!!!! real vehicles, real off road tires, on a real off road trek!!!! no fear of damaging the $100k plus weanie wagons with real guys driving and having fun. Thanks for sharing. now go put some coil overs on them and don't look back for your hi-lift jack, spare gas tank, emergency kit, ..................................................
Plz make more offroading videos of older trucks vs new🙏
Andre has a hilarious off road face
@tfltruck Old truck pro tip. Crack that rear window slightly and it'll help keep the windshield fog free.
How was the efi fuel pump return lines run? Lots of bad reviews on the FiTech fuel delivery sump. Say it needs return line not to overheat. Did you run return lines to both tanks? If so, how does it know what tank to return to when you have duel tanks?

You got lucky. Usually the square body GM trucks have an 1/8 tank gauge swing THE OTHER WAY! haha
Hello TFL Truck what part of Beautiful Colorado are you guys filming at?
Rainbow lakes near Nederland, Colorado
Andres off road face is the best xD
Andre sorry Roman and tommy you all did very well and I laughed super hard when you guys put your faces on the screen
Oh, my, gosh. Those faces are hilarious! 🤣🤣🤣 I vote Andre!
are the roads you traverse on public or private land?
Roman, Check out OffRoad Design. They’re from your neck of the woods in Colorado and specialize in full size Chevy Suspensions and off-road upgrades. If you want quality upgrades that perform you should look into them. Being from the same state maybe you could even collaborate for some upgrade videos!
We checked them out. They weren’t very interested in working with us.
Andre for sure he looks scared to death every off road video.
The old Chevys with leaf springs are tough old trucks
Is the green truck torsion bar lifted? Or extra springs?
No torsion bars. It has taller leaf springs.
Where are all these trails in Colorado, I got a new ram I’m trying to test out
What does it cost to fill both tanks?
Andre had the best face of all!
The best front springs for the chevy without changing the length are the softride ones from ORD hands down
I know that Big Green is an off-road truck, but it'd be interesting to see it take on the Ike Gauntlet again
You should get a bds lift on the k10, but if on a budget roughcountry will work.
Where is the barn find these days I thought this was going to be a project on here. Lucky the International Harvester Scout.
The Scout is coming back soon! We had a tough time getting the title for it. But got it finally.
you probably just forgot to take your low hanging hitch off, when you drop into holes the hitch will bottom out and make the ride ruffer and could get you stuck, nice vid guys, poor film crew getting rained on.
Don’t feel bad about big green breaking down Roman, at least you didn’t go out off-road twice with broken 4wd.
