Acer use a similar case here in Australia. The side intake for cpu and top intake for gpu is fantastic. Pity more OEM's didn't use such a simple and logical layout.

Ah. Yeah I think these are one of the best OEM SFF cases out there in terms of airflow. Everybody else seems to screw it up.

Those weren't the worst, Great for budget PC's in light use at the time. The worst was the lower power C, E, and G lines. Insanely slow to use as a desktop CPU, were good for lower powered firewalls or NAS. The quad core variants were barely tolerable, but perfectly usable with light use. And, yes.. there is a single core C-30 that's slower than a CPU from 1999

@@MrHeHim Yeah I was told that the other versions were pretty pathetic (specifically the E series). That C-30 sounds like hell to use.

i've used an a4-7210 machine for some time, with 8gb o ram and a gt730 it could run cyberpunk at 5-12 fps (lowest settings). it's now a server

Yeah they weren't great. About on par with a Core 2 Duo, but less power draw.

🙂 thats weird, that motherboard you can't plug in a bus powered video card? for older am3 computers i think the FX 6core and 8core chips aren't too bad for most of the slightly older video games out there as long as the game is offline and you dont have to worry about those games that are multiplayer cause multiplayer eats up alot of cpu usage

Bus powered video card? Not sure what you are referring to. I would definitely like to get an am3 machine at some point just to see how they do as Ive been pretty much team Intel for most of the time.

@@Theutmostgeek 🙂 bus powered, a video card that doesnt need a plug from the power supply, for example an RX 550 or RX 560 or GTX 750ti or R7 250 or HD 7750 etc. Yes me too most of my collection is Intel stuff. I only have three AM3 motherboards so far.

Oh yeah I got you. You can indeed install one into this machine but I thought at the time to not install one in case I wanted to sell it later on which I do plan on doing. No idea if it is limited to 35w or lower like those Lenovo machines. 3 is better then none!

@@Theutmostgeek if you put a ~$30-40 card in it like one of the ones MrSamadolfo (Hi! ) mentioned or a GT 1030, Radeon Pro WX2100/3100/3200/4100, Quadro K1200/P620/P1000 etc. not sure what the BEST pairing is given the CPU power but somewhere around there... you can probably jack up the price more than you paid for the upgrade because you can sell it "value added" as an entry level gaming PC that can run Minecraft and Fortnite and Counterstrike as opposed to just unloading this old bit of potato with no toppings... seriously, a low profile video card will work wonders for the resale value, just don't overbuy.
Don't get an RX 6400 because it's too expensive plus the CPU will bottleneck it. Stick to low profile single slot cards from around 2012-2017 or so, with 1-4GB of GDDR5 (don't get the DDR4 GT 1030 for example because it's 1/2 the speed of its GDDR5 sibling). Most of these slot powered cards don't exceed 35W anyway, definitely the GT 1030 is 30W IIRC. But that might be one of the more expensive ones because of brand recognition and notoriety for being a legendary budget choice (checks eBay) yup, around $45 and the DDR4 version for half that (which is appropriate but it's still not a "buy").

if I was keeping it. I probably would have put 7 on it or linux like you said. The amount of ram it has seems to be still suffiecent enough to use for a daily machine.
