The reason why Wintersun kept all their fans even without any new releases is because the first album is possibly the greatest album EVER! Oh and I almost had a heart attack when Jari mentioned Summoning, I've been wanting to ask Jari if he has heard their new album yet. :)
We never forgot wintersun because the first album is beyond awesome/epic. It captivated us so much that even after eight long years we're still clamoring for a new material. I'm just glad time 1 was out and can't wait for time 2 to be released.
Well it would be a dream come true if Iron Maiden, Metallica, Judas Priest, Saxon, Devin Townsend, Summoning and Wintersun! Would play in the same festival.. Maybe stick Opeth, Gojira and Meshuggah in there I might actually kill someone for that ticket..
Awesome Bal-Sagoth shout out.. I'm not very surprised he likes them, they're very fantasy oriented and some of he vocals sound similar to Jari.. the screams
And yes, the self-titled album was PERFECT in pretty much every way possible, and Time I doesn't fall short...these guys are literally just pioneers, prophets, and legends in their craft and genre.
I'd want Wintersun to play a concert with Van Halen, Yngwie Malmsteen, and Rainbow....though you would need to ressurect Ronnie James Dio and Cozy Powell....then for the last song have all 4 of my favorite guitarist #1Yngwie, #2 Jari, #3 Richie, #4 Eddie play either Gates of Babylon or Atomic Punk. Can't wait for the new Wintersun album.
I wonder how bands like this listen to bands like Iron Maiden and Metallica wich im not saying that sucks but imo are some levels down compared to some extreme metal bands and still come up with very good music.
