There are organs in the song? Arggg! Wtsf @9:58-10:15?!?! My brain's melting from this song, again, as if I'm hearing it for the first time. All those tracks are so delicious. But I need better headphones, damn it!
Album is a masterpiece no doubt. But after all that effort, you just can't really hear the guitar and drums so well, especially with too much reverb and compression (relatively speaking) on the drums. So many digital tracks tend to muddy up the overall soundscape. I honestly think it could have been better with less effects and a more professional mixing job.
Aye, but you can always hear something new every time you listen to it. That's the beauty of this level of density. Although I can see where you're coming from. I'd love Jari to release stems for the two albums so the fans who jizz over this stuff can mix it differently. That would give me a life threatening boner.
Well, Jari himself said that he was dissatisfied with the state of the album at release, even called it "a compromise" and compared it with a demo version of his actual vision of the album, since he was not able to fully advance the sound of the guitar and the entire mix in general due to the pressure from Nucelar Blast and his technological limitations.
Did he? Oh. He took his sweet time with 'time' for sure:) In all honesty it's only a matter of turning the drums up a bit to save it IMO. Perfectionism goes too far and stops results as I know from my own mistakes. Cool.
JEKAZOL Ok, but Jari's personal issues with the Time project where a little more complicated, if you want to have a more detailed report, check his Facebook post:) facebook.com/wintersun/posts/10152623595422402
Beautiful person, he truly feels the music he gets so excited about it. I am in love with his music forever.
jari IS a high elf. and dragonborn, long live dovakiin
For some reason one of my favourite moments in this song is" variation of the heavy riff" at 6:50, it's unbelievably genius!
8:18 "here's my organs" lol I love that part
doesn't he mean "here's my orphans"
Maaaaan, I cannot wait to have the isolated tracks for this :D
1:24 sounds like a damn lightsaber

Does anyone know what audio interface he is using here? Or what the silver box that he touched the dial on a few times above his keyboard is?
The DAW is Cubase, either 6 or 7. Don't know about the box though...it bothers me too. :D
Black Ocean Viking It's just a monitor controller for his studio speakers (monitors)
what plugins do they use for the orchestra stuff?
EastWest and Omnisphere as he said and maybe some others as well
Anyone knows what the name of that audio interface (the silver box on his desk) is?
Anyone knows what these "Goji Lights" are he talks about around 0:42?
I thought he said Godzilla Hits
Ah, from East West's Storm Drum! Thanks! :D
Exept 293 and me... not that I care much for the bearded chap on a right..... this prog is like avid, only for sound :)

yeah, I'd love to mix this album. It's only the drums that really disappoint me. I hope the next one solves this. Genius songwriting nevertheless.
