The mistake Jari made was that he started this project way too early. He didn't have the resourches and tech to make it a reality as was intended. That led to a lot of criticism from fans because of endless delays and crowdfundings. Can't really blame him since I'm sure he was extremely eager to make his visions come reality, but the time just wasn't right. Then again, we have been blessed to have songs like "Sons of Winter and Stars" and "Time" for 12 years now, but just imagine if in 2024 he dropped the whole thing (Time I & II) at once at full quality. It would be truly insane.
I thought about this too. Then I thought that had he waited, say 15 years before starting on the Time project he wouldn't want to do it anymore at all, having so many new ideas for albums and the music of Time just wouldn't be up to date. But that's ridiculous! The music of Time is timeless! When I listen to Time I I'm not thinking "this sounds like early 2010's metal. Absolutely not! I think I can safely say that Time II is the same in this regard. I don't really remember what I was trying to say anymore
The intro guitar melody is something else when it's isolated. I can't believe all the incredible nuisances that are essentially inaudible in the album version.
He mightve had to cut some instruments out so he could actually mix it. His system couldnt handle the full project very well, without crashing. Basically, don't make music like this with a Mac. Lmao
@@Jossienheimer Jari's way of working is quite different from many other producers. He has all the sections in different tracks. For example, Nightwish has over 700 tracks of orchestrations but not all of them are imported seperately to the mixing project. Many of them are bounced together to a stereo file.
4:55 It's awesome to see a finish metal god using the erhu in his mix lol. It's a chinese 2-stringed fiddle commonly used in chinese orchestra. But he uses it to great effect in his album.
i can tell from going back and forth between this and the isolated orchestration track from the forest package, that he did a lot of sample cutting to mix the project.
+ToastedCigar You need a high-gain amp with modern distortion (like mesa boogie, diezel, engl or framus, for example) combined with active pickups and, of course, a completly clean ejecution
Pretty sure he uses Goliath and Symphonic Orchestra Gold for some of the orchestral elements and I know he uses the wordbuilder in Symphonic Choirs for the choirs.
No worries, took me a while to find the vsts so i thought i'd save you time searching for them :P The wordbuilder only works with the symphonic choirs vst. Also keep in mind the DAW you're using needs to support polyphonic aftertouch to use wordbuilder - some programs (like Ableton) don't support it.
I'm kind of new to being a music enthusiast, so maybe I should know the answer to this, but I don't; Why is your name Fuck Nuclearblast? Is something wrong with them? I've heard they made Jari split Time in to two parts, but other than that, I don't know why you'd have that name.
Look up Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder (Which is different from OCD mind you! OCPD is a different beast) and watch all of the descriptions describe Jari TO A T. This needs to be in the conversation more among fans...
James Peterson sorry bud, but your anecdotal assessment of him via a couple of videos doesn't mean shit to me...you don't know shit about what's going on with him, so why act like you do??
Who’s back here after the Time II announcement realizing how fucking ambitious this madlad was/is?

Well here we finally are, looks like we are getting the whole thing!

@@Jossienheimer Funny comment since Macs are considered amazing for music production - and they are.

Really cool to get an insight into the instrumentation! I´ve just "discovered" Wintersuns music and I think it´s fantastic :D
Thanks so much for sharing this. It really gives a true picture of Jari's vision and passion. Always my fav wintersun track!
Yes Jari :))), that part 8:28 sounds like Last Ninja , one of the finest games ever for Commodore 64!
When I saw this video my jaw dropped off and never came back. Jari had blesseed us with something that came from elswhere in this universe.
Jari is like Mozart of metal
Bach would be a more apt comparison
I remember reading about the making of Silmarillion in JRR Tolkiens biography, and thinking "well this sounds like Jari and Time"

A Morin Khuur is a kind of lute with 2 strings. Specifically Mongolian.

Imagine if Jari showed us this as a tease for the album way before it would have been released.
This is how legends born... can't wait for Time II!
keep waiting :c
Almost 2023 year... Keep awaiting
Time II is out in 2024
August 2024 is coming, officially
@@mopoucco2092 damm you guessed it right
Awesome demonstration! Btw, does somebody have an idea how to get a guitar sound similar to 2:50?

i wonder what plugins he used for the instrumentations
Azhi Ragnaroksama I think he uses alot of the East West Quantum Leap stuff like Symphonic Choirs and Goliath.
Pretty sure he uses Goliath and Symphonic Orchestra Gold for some of the orchestral elements and I know he uses the wordbuilder in Symphonic Choirs for the choirs.
It's an addon to the Symphonic Choirs VST. It works as a second vst that you use along with the normal plugin.

Anyone knows what these "Goji Lights" are he talks about around 6:45? I'm really curious about those.
Anyone knows the name of that audio interface (the silver box on his desk) he's using?
I fucking love this song so much or actually the whole album so I need to take a break from it so it doesn't get bored
After all these years, I can say that it does not get boring hahah
Fus Ro Dah!
Why haven't I ever come across this vid before? Ugh! This is soooooooo damned wicked!
Which software for recording is that??
Cubase 7
Which app is this
Is it just me or does the dude with the mic seem like he's really annoyed and doesn't wanna be there every time I watch this lmao
jarinstein theory lols
if ya think this is crazy, ya should check out devin townsend's tracks!!!
Which audio interface is that?
+Onur Hunuma Cubase 7
Is the words builder is also from cubase 7?
+Jeffrey Sim eastwest choirs mate
Guys, he wants to know which audio interface Jari has. Cubase is the sequencer programm. Btw: I'm also interested in which interface he has.
Have you guys figured out, which interface that is? :D I'm guessing some of Steinberg's older models.
Kyllä se siitä.

I feel like he's just obsessing over things a little too much...he's lost sight of the fact that he was a guitar player before he was a composer...imo
Its his mental disorder doing that man. Hard to blame him. It really adds to the final product though is the weird part haha

if that would have happened then i would have died waiting to here the album haha. its too bloody amazing
Well, this is happening now with Forest Seasons :) There is even much more samples ;) I'm already dying to hear the new album :)
i know lol. at least the album has a release date and "WILL" be released this year
I'm already in dead state til July :D
