    Just bought one and it sounds monstrous!! In a good way. My only slight gripe is that the switch, in its middle position, seems to sound VERY similar to the neck position, rather than an equal(ish) blend of both pickups. Other than that, hands down the best out-of-the-box set up I've ever come across. Stunning guitar!

      'Pro wrestling' is garbage. I'm surprised he got into that nonsense.

    Anyone knows what kind of neck profile this has ?

    • @markferguson3745
      @markferguson3745 3 года назад +1

      The Reverend necks are basically a 12" compound radius, despite the material.Remind me of higher end Charvel , but beefier profile.It's a good compromise between vintage and modern sound and feel,- IMHO, - the best I've played.Still a little fight in them, and as resonant as a piano.

    Looks and sounds great. When I heard about it on the podcast, I was "meh", but seeing after seeing it, I am much more impressed.

    How does body add resonance? I thought it was electronics(pickups).

    • @nomoreluke
      @nomoreluke 4 года назад +2

      The pickups "pick up" the string vibrations. Resonance comes from the way that the guitar is set up - especially the make up of the body but also frets, action, bridge, but, etc.

    You’ve got the bass contour the wrong way round. The contour is on when the bass is reduced from the tone. Not when it’s added to the tone.

  • @QjoCabz
    @QjoCabz 5 лет назад +2

    I would’ve liked to have heard the bass contour being used in the neck position, but it appears you never showed us clean or dirty. Shame.

    PTB is not unique to Reverend. It's a blatant derivative of Leo Fender's design. You get it in every G&L Legacy.

      Kaden Bohm the 'inbetween' positions could be coil tap, however with the bass countor that doesn't really seem necessary

      Kaden Bohm Jerry Mondragon I know it's a 3 way, I said it just looks like a 5 way.

      I'm currently working on one for a client. It's a 3 way. And you kids might not know, but for many years - there was no such thing as a 5 way. So there.

    African Limba depending on density is not heavier.
    In fact, if you request actual weight, it tends to be super light.
    Reverends tend to be below 7.5lbs.
    A comparable mahogany or alder guitar may be upwards of 8 or 9 lbs.
    Some, like me think Reverends are obnoxiously light. Like toys.
    *edit
    Also, despite popular belief, "Korina" is a cheaply sourced wood in Africa, much like Sapele. It is not legendary. Gibson used it as a cost saving measure. Reverend rides on the hype.

    too bassy

    • @nomoreluke
      @nomoreluke 4 года назад +3

      You can easily fix this and get the tone you want. It literally has a bass roll off. You can also get an EQ pedal (most essential pedal ever) or EQ your amp effectively?
