his stupidity and stubbornness as well were unmatched. it’s what made him happy and he was hypersuccessful so in a way good for him; but this is in every other way pathological behaviour. generally speaking no one should hold onto habits or ways of reacting that hurts them. he was hurting himself. if someone was a warehouse manager and had the dedication that Kobe l had for basketball, his closest friends would do an intervention and talk him out of it. And his other friends would talk shit about him and call him a loser. But because Kobe’s passion was basketball his fans seem to let it pass that he was borderline engaged in constant self-harm and sleep deprivation.

That determination and toughness showed by Kobe in numerous times (but specially the Achilles free throws) was my motivation to overcome a heart disease and then a bleeding on my brain caused because of a bad dose of the medication for my heart that got me in the hospital for two months in last july. I'm 42 y/o, Kobe was my favorite player ever and I tried to had that mentality in order to recover from my illness just to live and be back home with my 6 y/o son, my wife and my family. The doctors thought I wouldn't gonna make it or that if I survive it would be with brain damage. To many people Kobe's Mamba Mentality isn't a thing but to me was a lot and helped me getting back on my own feet and live my life fully again, I even managed to get back to play basketball in the rec league I used to play before the pandemic. Kobe is and will be my hero forever. Rest in Peace Mamba.

After several weeks in IT my condition improved, but at the beggining I was unconcious, having pretty wild dreams. Then I woke up but still had hallucinations when being awake. Those went away soon after and they released me with a dose of 3 milligrams on mon, wed and fri, and 2 milligrams the rest of the days of the week. Being injured is such a horrible and scary thing, especially the consequences of what it could lead to but it happens in sports. That’s y u respect and love athletes cuz they do what they love even if it costs them. RIP Kobe. U are the next Jordan and meant so much to people

Old school here. I didn't respect Kobe as an all time great for longer than I should have, but by the time this happened I was a fan.
I watched the achilles incident live, and it moved me to my core. RIP Legend and beautiful little girl.

I was there that night didn't know he had raptured his Achilles, I thought he hurt his foot he'll be good by the way he walked out. Wasn't until I got home and heard the news. Remembered being totally devastated knowing he was out the rest of the season

I have been a Laker hater since the Bad Boys were playing on the hardwood. This Detroiter has a whole new respect for that man the more I learn about him... so when I hear the disrespect of passing him over in the goat conversation. It makes me want to Rick Mahorn somebody's face!
