I like to PvP, and PvE on ARK Ascended. Usually wearing an Exo Suit nowadays. Unlocking it is easy with no cheats needed anymore, and usually on a server, official or unofficial, sometimes for 100 days. Single Player is great though, certainly with a guide for any platform be it switch, xbox, ps4, ps5, pc, steam, epic, it's great. Sometimes play MTS, and usually post patch/update. But a survival game needs some community news and that's what I do, giving you the latest on events, small tribes, usually covering all maps from Island to Fjordur. And one day. ARK 2!

From what I've seen some new dynamic things have been added to the game ( some being a more advanced ai for the dinos) unlike the island this is a from the ground up remade scorched earth. The island used resources from evolved. The way scorched earth could play may feel a bit different and more versatile using ALL of what ue5 has to offer

Disagree to me it looks like the old map but with updated textures and more foliage in what’s supposed to be a almost barren desert map
@@Finn-r6ddeserts aren’t always sand dunes and spice, there are deserts with plenty of foliage that are still considered deserts like the main deserts in scorched. Take the hot lands of Arizona or Nevada in the USA. They look similar and the sand dunes are still dunesy.

@@Griffins998 I am not taking about real life I am talking about the fact the old map was more dead making feel more like a struggle and place you would never go a place of death and heat that is why I loved scorched earth it felt completely different from other maps
The term night and day difference is an understatement here. They did a great job.
I'm not impressed. Idk why but I swear the new lighting, upscale, and weather affects aren't that noticable. Not hating but night and day I wouldn't go that far. Island was a way better remaster.
@@cellanbrown hey to each their own brother 👍 my nitpick with the island is the added fog and clouds. To me it makes it look pixelated and blurry so i just console command those two things off and it helps make it run better on my Xbox lol

that area feels like a major downgrade, honestly...
Everything is an upgrade other than the lava at the bottom of the wyvern trench not a huge fan of that texture
I prefer the blue oasis water. It's too muddy now. When I picture oasis it's blue and untouched.

I know we dunk on WildCard for taking their sweet time, but at least they don't disappoint with these upgrades. This makes me really excited to see what Aberration is going to be.
This is the devs displaying just how talented they are at creating a good map when they are given adequate time.

If you have a good pc R.fog 0 does the trick but scorch is a pretty smol map so im sure itll run fine

This map runs way better without all the water and foliage. Im.new.to SE and my problem is the heat... im dying out there!

Just turn off bloom in settings if you don’t like glare.
I know that im propebly in the minority, but I feel that a lot of SE's vibe is missing from the ASA version, like no heat waves? all the dried up riverbeds are now a giant river? the obilisks used to be that main area oasis but now the whole middle of the map is one giant Oasis? and wth where those lighting effects on the ground during the thunder storm?
SE was already one of my favourite maps because I love desert and arid environments, but this updated version of the map has really impressed me so far. I've been having a lot of fun playing on the map, and not a single crash to date after playing for hours. I've already got about a dozen sabers since every cat I seem to encounter has about 2 babies with it haha. Still on the fence about whether I'll invest in the frontier items since it's a lot more expensive than what I'd want to pay, but if the quality is the same as the rest of the content on this map I might be able to be convinced yet

New Scorched does have blue water! Sometimes it's crystal clear.

You can dislike the game all you want, but you can't deny that wildcard makes the maps look amazing.
Helldivers 2 maps look better sometimes, and they are literally procedural, with one single biome, without any decoration besides bases and players objectives… and they feel better… and have less bugs… and is lore enjoyable… and a little bit cheaper… why should I buy this? Like they even destroyed some of the original artwork, it could be better…

I have exactly 832 hours in ark, with ASA, I know what I’m talking about, and I play helldivers so I can compare them, I’m not comparing play style, or something like that as it’s not comparable, I’m comparing the visuals, which helldivers, for a game with no hope of being a legend, with less support, and less fanbase, did a visual job similar to ASA or even better in some small points, is cheaper, and funnier.
@@garitogeryuixd6241 hell divers is a completely different game, and has been development for ages now, the graphics are meh the atmosphere is cool sure, but graphics wise asa is better by a LONG shot, and again fps game are way easier to optimize than a large scale survival games
In my opinion one of the best parts about the remake is that the “River” that bisects the map is a proper body of water now and not just random puddles. Adds so much character to the surrounding area. 7:04

I kinda like the ASE map more tbh. While all the graphical upgrade are great it make the map look more soft and inviting compared to the hot, dry, deadly, landscape of ASE. then more trees around the one ob looks silly. Scorched earth was the reason I got into ark and still is my favorite map Crystal isle is a close second. I would love to play but I dont think my laptop can handle it even though I have a really high end one. And I aint got the room to do so either. but it still looks great.
The only good thing about ASA is a little bit better textures and that's it. They should put more work in optimalization instead focusing on something not many people can even run on medium settings

Looks great runs great on my 3080 and even my wifes 4060 ti. Both running on high on 1440 ultra wides.
ASE doesn't look bad for how old it is, but then you see the comparison and the difference is night and day
I really hope they increased the overall size of Scorched because the original felt a bit small to me.
I don't like that there's so much more vegetation, it's too much for a scorched map also green oby water is way too dirty now, I think the old electrical storm was better than the new one tbh

I was pretty disappointed by The Island. However, Scorched Earth looks amazing at 4k.
I am tired of the non-traversable terrain. In ASE you could ride a ground dino or walk places. That is nearly impossible due to the extremely rough terrain in ASA. Scale seems really poor too. You can make your character 2 feet tall and then when they hold a crossbow, the thing is 2x their size.

1:41 ASE looks like the map is never-ending, while ASA has an obvious cutoff.
I'm still not going to spend £3k to buy a Computer that can play the the game with better graphics, I can't justify it at the moment, ASE it is for now.

Started grinding with bob tall tales and the map is a complete different feeling than on ase scorched earth used to be one of my least favorites but its running so great on asa

The Rocks at 1:40 look worse to me than before. If you go closer there is also a very repeating texture on them. Feels like they didn't had time for them anymore. Also there was a bit more variation in colors with the dark rocks before, which I liked more. Some of the ruins also didn't got us much detail as on the island, especially the building you enter to the roof to get to the cave. This one looks like me trying to build in minecraft :D Otherwise a good improvement!
Wyvern trench looks so much better in original ark. So ugly now in the remaster.
I have said it a few times already but the remake man.... it feels so much more alive and colourful. It also feels bigger and they have added ao much extra with this map to so i am so excited for the other maps 😀 😄.
honestly ASE was a better "hot desert" kinda map, sunglare and other effects really made it look hot... now you can literally be at 70°C and you won't even notice visual differences with a 20°C zone

Lava and color of water look better in ASE. If they kept that and just upgraded the graphics for ASA then it would be better.

The lighting and foliage changes made this map alot nicer, everything used to be overbrite sandwashed, now its much more pleasing visually.

I’m sure I’m in the minority, but the old map looked better. If you were going for a barren, scorched, wasteland, Ascended is not that.
Funny thing is the map from ase was unfinished and was sold early to pay for a contract break.

Am I the only one who doesn't like it from the look of this atleast? Too many trees for a desert enviroment and the nice yellows are now more red.
this makes me wish i had ASA, i never was able to progress that far in any of the original ark maps and i kinda gave up after my friends stopped playing.
unfortunately, i dont have enough money and idk if my pc would be able to run it, specifically my graphics card (GTX 1660)
They did a fantastic job, but... Im going to say it... the color palette feels a little off, darker in tone than ASE and I personally find the lack of "heat shimmer" a disappointment. I loved that detail in ASE. But those points aside, it does look AMAZING.
Even though models and textures are clearly superior, I feel like ASE is a bit more coherent, and has an overall better art direction. Even looking at the world scar, it just looks so much better in ASE.

Я понимаю, что конкретно эта карта - пустыня, и там не может быть кристально чистой воды, но от неё веяло таким... Спокойствием? Взять карту Island, на ней были шикарные голубо-прозрачные озера и реки, но их сделали грязными, хотя я думаю, что Island мог бы иметь и голубые озера, словно райские острова с разными бухтами и гейзерами...😢😢
they nailed scorched so well. aberration tho, thats gonna be hard to make better. and also make it good enough so that people's pcs dont explode upon trying to run it
the graphical improvement is really nice, but the performance cost is immense

looking good just wondering if the performance has been inproved in ASA
3:25 looked so much better in ase, the lava flowed in the right direction and looked solid, now it looks flat and the lighting is just a boring directionnal light that's probably the same over the entirety of the map, no more lava glow on the walls, 3:49 looked better in my opinion, maybe it's just the angle of the sun isn't the same but i don't know, it looks so dark now, and 4:46 they removed Petra, they removed the cool temple to put some boring stone walls instead, even 4:30, okay the cave looks much better in ASA but in Ase you can clearly see the lighting was only a small opening in the ceiling lighting the way you are supposed to go, now it feels like you are not even in a cave anymore and everything is lit up the same.
I can't be the only one to see these ?
Obviously, overall it looks better but i'm a bit disappointed in them not respecting the original details of the map.

SE should not look so alive...wth...its look good but not in the theme..whats with so much vegetation...i hope fps will be better here than on island..In general ASA is new graphics,tons of vegetation,some elevation changes(Island sucks if wanna play only with land dinos)..still we play this cuz we addicted :)))..Great video man,we appreciate you for the time to do this.
I thought not, but you can see the graphical difference. And that's even though Ark EVO looks pretty good with maximum graphics... better than many games in fact, even though it had that "bad reputation" of looking "horrible", commented from a crappy PC.
The one on the right runs like shit. Its got worse fps than the island on an rtx 3080ti
