Weird complaint but I really hate how all the Asa rocks are all tan, like they keep taking areas with clearly grey rocks and making them tan, so that areas that are supposed to look like Rocky Mountains end up looking really dry, it worked on the island but they did it to the wyvern trench on scorched and they’re doing a ton here as well

I’m disappointed in the new lava island. And why are all rocks sandstone? Same issue with the island. Makes sense for the beaches and mid east mountain but not snow and volcano.
Lava island was very unique example everytime you get near it the surrounding area would change, you had ashes rain down, the sky would turn orange/red, and you can find the occasional raptor/Rex/Giga taking a hot bath in the lava rivers. Honestly it felt like you just enter hell and you’re encountering arks most dangerous creatures. Sad that they removed the ash rain and red/orange sky when getting near the island 😔
Yeah the old lava island looked better. They had too much focus in making it pretty. Lava island is supposed to be a hostile and grim place and preferably no greenery
I really want to like these remasters, but they really sucked the colour and beauty out of the game. Everything is just low contrast reddish brown with a golden cast to all the trees now. There isn't any green lush grass anywhere or grey coloured rocks. If you look at the comparisons of most areas, the grass has been removed and replaced with brown dirt and shrubs.
Yes yes, I’m so happy I found people with the same opinions, like there just washing everything out making it all looks the same, so much of the color palette just got sucked away it’s crazy, the fog doesn’t help either cause it washes everything out even more, the volcano area looks like everywhere else, the mountains look the same as the ones on the island idk man it’s crazy how they managed to make the center so boring and dull

Artiist critique ig? I'm happy to be playing on the center again with a fresh coat of paint! The assets are definitely WAY better and some areas are really neat now, though now with this direct comparison I see what was making me tilt my head. I do feel like the color was a bit drained out of the world, both in some assets getting the beige affect and the ambient lighting losing it's cool tones to becoming blown out white/gray... which I noticed happened to a lot of maps some updates ago. I don't favor the new snow/tundra areas as it kinda looks SE with snow to me? But I prefer the new lava area as I never was a fan of samey lava areas evolved maps all had. There is a cool canyon in the redwoods where the rivers are way more detailed and the cliffs spraw super high into the light which gave me a bit of awe I hadn't felt in ark in ages though. TLDR: There is a lot of ups and the downs I think come to maybe saturating some assets back up along with the biome color grading. Also I beg for whatever that new affect with lighting constantly adjusting to mimic your eyes dialating please be toned down oml it's blinding and makes the map disappear in holy light.
The removal of all the black and gray ash is so sad, the lava area was always really intimidating. I feel they tried to make the map more like a beach, but it ends up kind of looking like a desert lmao.
That’s one. The one thing I like about ASA remakes for Maps is like they take an area that’s so barren and honestly gross to be around like scorched they made it so lush and overall just a better feel to it. I like what they did with the volcano island
@@malekat8539in my opinion the whole old map looked barren and like plastic, it was disgusting to look at and had no soul with flat ground and poor terrain design, and ark mobile genuinely looked better in some cases. I do think that they downgraded some of the areas like the cave entrance and other lighting things, but I would rather take that over the old barren map
Man what the hell, if you like that look just play on the island but these maps are supposed to be different, it looks literally exactly the same as the island, they could have kept the barren volcano but just taken away the old jankiness the first version had, instead they completely neutered it, taking away even more contrast and color palette, is swear man it’s fine that you have that opinion but your are def in the minority here cause I think it sucks ass
@@wfisher4034 I do kinda agree with you, but I would ask how they would make a tropical map with the exact same biomes(excluding volcano) look different besides a different rock color( which would likely look worse in a tropical theme). The only reason the old map looked different was because of the harshly contrasting biomes that had no detail or soul whatsoever.
One thing I hate about ASA is soooo much farmable grass in caves. I don’t wanna disable gathering cause of chiten. But I hate my megatherium gets encumbered after a few swings
Lowkey like the ASE floating island better. this one feels a lot less spacious, and it’s so lush you could hardly see anything unless the areas are bare. also crazy loss of frames there.
I do have to agree, some parts of asa kinda overpopulated the density of trees which made the areas either very laggy or very annoying to build in. Hidden lake is i think the biggest offender to this, tho i do think the floating islands in asa will grow on me.

ASE looks much more stylized and colorful. ASA looks like any other generic game. I would have preferred a simple upscale of assets with nanite and lumen instead of this cashgrab of a "remake"
Ok now i see what people meant regarding the map looking soulless now. It looks good but the deep colors are gone and washed out. Ice area doesnt look too icy anymore is what i noticed the most.
gonna be real here. While it certainly looks more realistic, my personal appeal with the center was how vibrant and green a lot of it was. Way back in the day it gave me the biggest sense of tropical jungle. The sandstone color being everywhere really seems to detract from that aesthetic imo. I doesn't give me the same vibes anymore. It somehow seems more "dry" despite having so much water incorporated throughout the map. Imo this is the first L as far as the remastered maps go. The island and scorched earth look infinitely better but this one changed it up too much imo. The volcano/ lava island in particular is by far the biggest loss.
Some areas are definitely improved. I personally like the lava section more now. That being said, I’m sure the team are good, hard working people, but they definitely missed the mark. Doesn’t match up the island and SE remasters. Hoping Ragnarok will get the love it deserves

(and the boss arena)
I'm glad that it looks different. I started playing on this map 😊
Also I beg for whatever that new affect with lighting constantly adjusting to mimic your eyes dialating please be toned down oml it's blinding and makes the map disappear in holy light.
oh wow The Center finally has the up to date obalisks
Also this looks awsome can't wait to play this
cannot wait to explore!
This was the worst take I've seen here...
Our favorite spot is gone rip..
That land behind Blue and Red beyond the Barrier is very detailed. Possible expansion at some point?
I hope the Ragnarok Highlands dont have the dull grass color later
Fog everywhere :(
Yeah, and even using a command to remove fog will leave it still looking hazy
yey more brown rock
Look how they massacred my boy
glad I'm not the only one thinking they had only 3 colours to use 💀
I was hoping they'd expand the cave world so it'd be a biome or two larger
One thing I hate about ASA is soooo much farmable grass in caves. I don’t wanna disable gathering cause of chiten. But I hate my megatherium gets encumbered after a few swings
Lowkey like the ASE floating island better. this one feels a lot less spacious, and it’s so lush you could hardly see anything unless the areas are bare. also crazy loss of frames there.
Go play ASE then 😊
@@chadantonio or i can fairly critique the game i paid for, thanks for the input though
I do have to agree, some parts of asa kinda overpopulated the density of trees which made the areas either very laggy or very annoying to build in.
Hidden lake is i think the biggest offender to this, tho i do think the floating islands in asa will grow on me.
Go play ASE. Nobody paid for free dlc lmaoo. Stop whining you bunch of whiners. Jeeshh people find tiniest reasons to cry over something new. Don’t like it then walk away and go play bloody something else!!
@@dotalbo8279 The floating lake i was losing so many frames. Also what i noticed is the center is almost, “brighter” than it originally was. all the rock has like a sandy, desert-y tan color that i feel isn’t the most fitting of the deep greys and darker colors of the original map. i like what it is, but some things just seem a bit off.
Great video most likely but Raas when was the last time you got your cars oil changed? I feel it might be time
ASE looks much more stylized and colorful. ASA looks like any other generic game. I would have preferred a simple upscale of assets with nanite and lumen instead of this cashgrab of a "remake"
Some of these look awesome but they’re just making everywhere look the same lmao
it looks so GOD DAMN BRIGHT :p i bet it's prety cool but the brightness wow...
EDIT: the fogg is also not helping tbf.
The rock color makes it look, warmer I guess
im not impressed by the new version
Nobody gives a shit
This looks more like scorched earth than the center
if they made all the trees black and torn down from lava i think it would fit well . i still like the lava area
I'm very happy with this remake especially the red woods
I’ll admit I’m a little disappointed to but HOLY the under world looks fucking insane now.
I hope this is a work in progress....
nope this is forever now, unfortunately
@@viralshark far too many mesh breaks for this to be it.
Ok now i see what people meant regarding the map looking soulless now. It looks good but the deep colors are gone and washed out. Ice area doesnt look too icy anymore is what i noticed the most.
Why does every map now look like they added a layer of thin fog. ASE maps look crisp.
gonna be real here.
I don’t Like how it took away that (Nordic) cold and dark feeling and I hope the rag overhaul won’t do the same thing :/
Some areas are definitely improved. I personally like the lava section more now. That being said, I’m sure the team are good, hard working people, but they definitely missed the mark. Doesn’t match up the island and SE remasters. Hoping Ragnarok will get the love it deserves
Lot of elevation changes I wonder what percentage of drops are now floor loot to be tricked by
IS it just me or some area seem that they lost personality?
#bringbacktheoldcentermap
In my opinion the water looked better in ASE in this comparison.
The graphics are clearly better and the terrain is FAR more detailed and built up but the color is completely gone. I miss the saturation. Everything looks like its washed out now and all the rocks are the same color. With a bit more color variety and more saturation it would look spectacular ❤
Theres some bits that just look very odd to me lava island looks like a big jungle if you didnt know it was lava island youd just think it was all jungle
