I work at a hotel. The room's are considered outside. So on 2nd and 3rd floor walkways I have 1inch deep cracksby 3inch wide. This is exactly what i need to do. Thanks from poor maintenance man in Delaware
Thank you for posting/sharing, after you do that repair, you could run a demo saw along the old seams to free that slab up a little, maybe you do that all ready i dont know but an old concrete guy showed me that.
My sidewalk has a bunch of cracks so I'm hoping to just pour an inch or so of concrete right over top of it rather than pulling the old concrete out and starting fresh. Is this a realistic idea?
Question! Would this work on a very thin patio slab that is chipping away at the end where it connects with the driveway? It's essentially just dirt underneath. All input is much appreciated!
Can you use this product in the Northeast climates e.g. NY, MA, VT? Also why did you not pressure wash or hose clean because the water that you use was dirty?
I have a chunk of concrete that broke off the side edge of our front porch - it is about 3 inches wide and up to about 1 1/2 inches thick at the bottom. Should I drill into the slab to insert a rebar before building a frame for the repair?
I have a driveway that is two years old but has a couple of broken areas near the expansion joint. Also have a couple of hairline cracks. What do you mix to match existing driveway color. The driveway is a very light gray. Thanks
Hi David. These videos are great. Hoping for a bit of advice. Need to level off my basement slab about 6 ft wide for til install. No more than an inch difference from the center to the sides. Would this product work well for the job? What's an equivalent product to Tamms?. Not sure I could get it in new york. Last have some black adhesive on the floor from ply wood they glued down to install carpet that I pulled up to get down to the slab. Can I use concrete adhesive and then I wouldn't have to worry about the product failing? I really appreciate your response!
My sidewalk has a bunch of cracks so I'm hoping to just pour an inch or so of concrete right over top of it rather than pulling the old concrete out and starting fresh. Is this a realistic idea? And should I be adding any type of rebar or remesh before adding the extra layer?
You mentioned that you were working on a fairly level surface, so it self leveled. We're looking to do a repair on our driveway that is not level. Any suggestions?
How long do the patches last? And is there anyway to match light to dark variation in color from concrete age? I just did a bunch of scratch damage to an old slab getting stuck with studded snow tires.
ive got a shop floor that could use some love. it looks like the sidewalk. 1-2 inches deep. what sort of product is good for indoor mechanical shop. heavy duty stuff. thanks
I just had a company come and pour concrete on the sidewalk where they put the lines in at the edges it’s crumbling the next morning he wants to put a cream on it will that fix the problem? And will I have a problem in the future?
I use sand ("Play Sand") instead of salt. It is slightly more expensive but it isn't destructive to plants or to concrete. Also, I think, a few bags of sand per year isn't a huge expense compared to those environmental effects. It gives traction on snow and ice. Super-smooth black ice can still be slippery, in that case I try to rough it up with a spade. After the ice goes away if there is a little sand left there it isn't terrible, sometimes it can even be swept up and used again.
Would you apply this process to a basement floor which is old and started to decay? Great teaching and work... by far the best informative and knowledgeable/no nonsense that channel I’ve seen on youtube -👍🏻 Keep up the good work &videos!
Rent a swing buffer with a medium bristle head and a wet vac from Home Depot and watch some videos about Ardex CD (concrete dressing) it’s an indoor/outdoor concrete overlay similar to what he used here
I'm just patching my master bedroom where I removed carpet tak strips and the anchors chipped out. I bout some quick Crete ready patch. And will be doing a fuax finish xylone concrete stain and heavy clear coat over is there anything I need for the patch. Should I need glue for 16th in to 1/4 in half dollar chips or should it be okay.
How would you go about patching concrete holes on a plane of about 3-5 degrees? How would you prevent the concrete batter from flowing out of the hole?
Hi, thanks for this awesome video! Can you use the same type of concrete (or concrete mix) to secure (wooden) "Fence Post" as well as repairing medium sized concrete sidewalk cracks? Here is a photo for the concrete sidewalk that we need to repair. @t. Thanks!
How do you repair a crack in concrete slap that is very deep, at least 6 inches and about 2 inches wide in some areas. It is less than an inch wide in most spots but very deep.
Use Quick Crete fast setting mortar repair. use quick crete concrete glue. Mix as much as you can apply in 15 minutes. Pack it in there with a flat stick. Sponge the surface for nice finish.
Do you know why these kinds of videos get so many views? Because there are so many bad contractors out there, including the one I used for my patio, and people would rather try and fix it themselves. The thought of handing over a ton of money to another contractor to me is ridiculous at this point because I trust none of them. If anyone in NYC has had a bad job resurfaced well without having to rip it all out again, please let me know. I had a job done in 2016 that was bad from the get-go. I hired someone to touch it up last year and wasted more money. I was just in my yard today doing small touchups and if I could, I'd push the contractor who did the initial job into a tank of piranhas.
@@OdellCompleteConcrete It's very true. I've been mulling it over and it makes no sense. The cracks will come back. I've realized that if I keep on paying someone every spring to retouch or resurface, it's a waste and I could just wait a few years and rip it out with the money I save not hiring a person to resurface it yearly. I'm lucky that I kind of have a knack for cement work and that the imperfections are moderate enough for me now to retouch them myself. It's just terrible to pay a lot of money for terrible work. Next time around, I have to do my research on whoever I choose...But the contractor was highly recommended by a friend. Thankfully they pitched it right because my neighbor's new job isn't cracking but when it rains, she gets a flood next to her basement window. That would make me really nuts.
I feel like this isn't a very good representation of your work. Would you consider making a second, more in depth video showing different types of patches such as holes, cracks, or surface abrasions? I've watched many of your other videos and am impressed with how thorough you normally are, but I feel like this video lacks the same attention to detail. I'm interested as I'm wanting to patch my driveway soon.
hey David quick question what would you use for surface chipping in a high traffic area. it's almost like the top layer of concrete flaked away. thank you in advance
I have a question. We have two approaches to our pavement that look terrible. I'm not sure what happened when it was installed but something went wrong. We got a quote from a company to demolish and replace them. They do have good reputation, but I'm not sure if it's completely mandatory to dismantle what we have and replace it. Obviously that would be ideal, but it's $2000 for that job. I sent you an email to show you the condition they're in. If you could let me know, that would be great. Thanks!
Yeah they just came to the house and they're starting on Tuesday. They're going to redo the entire pavement and it'll be framed with stamped concrete. I had no idea this stuff was so expensive. It's basically the cost of a new roof.
What is your email? I have a picture I'd like your opinion on as well. The concrete just on other side of our garage is crumbling where the melted water/salt from road meets the freezing temps in winter. Thank you
Hey I have a cement question. The front of my house has a cement patio 14 years ago put tile on it because it was cracked. Now the tile is coming up and taking the cement with it. Do you know if I would have to take it all out and install new or can you take out the top portion and set me cement on top to repair it?
Gr8 video... short to the point and no annoying music drowning you out.
Super easy and simple instructions. No wasting time on silly details. Thanks!!!
Glad it was helpful!

@@OdellCompleteConcrete Dear Odell, this business is hard enough, we need to help each other, have a great day.

I concur
awesome tips.. I didn't realize you needed a bond layer to get the new concrete to stick to the old one
Oh yes
You don't always need it. Depends on the materiel you're working with. The instructions will tell you if you should use it or not.
My sidewalk has a bunch of cracks so I'm hoping to just pour an inch or so of concrete right over top of it rather than pulling the old concrete out and starting fresh. Is this a realistic idea?
You are the most normal guy pitching his vidio , other guys come off like total salesmen Lol nicely done
Can you mix the concrete glue with the cement to make it strong ger?
Sure

Give it try the cleaner the better
Nice job! Can I use this for an uneven driveway made with black top & bits of concrete? I need to put a shed up, but its very uneven.
Haven't tried it on asphalt.
Great info this is exactly what I need to do in my garage

Concrete glue should do the trick

Quickrete vinyl patch
Is there any point in preserving the existing expansion joints? I see you didn’t do that here

Excellent video. Any tips on addressing the joints? I'd like to perform a similar repair on my driveway, but replace the joint filler.
I would try to keep the joints seperate because of all the movement
How long does it take to dry?
1 hour
How much water do you use per pound of concrete?
No much
Excellent, informative video . . .
But don't you need to put in those grooves again? What does it look like when it's dry? How long does it take to set?

30 minutes to dry.
dries like natural concrete.
Is there a reason for not edging the corner?
not really but its probably a good idea
Thanks for making the vid. This helped me a lot.

what is the best alternative to using salt to melt ice in winter, something that wont destroy concrete?
heaters in the concrete
