Wow... Looks awesome for not replacing the whole thing. Great bang for the buck... Great value for the owner. I had super low expectations for this one, but it turned out great.
This is what quality work looks like from someone who knows concrete and its proper application. Many local "concrete" guys slap anything down, with no prep and nmo understanding of how it works leading to wasted time and money. Great work!!!
Nice to see someone's not refusing smaller work.
I hope they remember this when it does get redone
And 3-4 guys to do a one man job. East coast.
I've never used the quick set concrete before. I normally use a topping sand mix. I've had better luck wetting the old place first. Some places I clean with muriatic acid first. My hardest repairs is fault lines. It'll keep cracking. I run a diamond saw through the repair where the expansion joint normally falls, but was never cut. I use a vinyl mix to top older work in good shape to give it that new look. It wears off after a few years. I try to avoid salt on icy sidewalks. That's what eats them up the worst even though many salts claim it doesn't attract concrete. I think they all do.
This is so lovely - we have a well done, but very aged 30 year old driveway. Cost to demo and replace are in excess of $30k. Just totally unaffordable for the average person. Appreciate seeing repair work!
The amount of attention to detail is amazing. Truly enjoy ya craft.
Great job. Looks like a very cost efficient method.
Mike - thank you. I am becoming obsessed with concrete. Thank you for feeding my obsession.
Yes sir we use all three of these rapid set products also. They come in handy especially in the cold
Excellent work. I never thought this would have turned out so good, and you made it look easy. I'm still not going to tackle my walk way on my own.
Never a disappointment. Nice job Mike! 😉
You fellas do excellent work. You take pride in your work too. Thank you for sharing.
Cement-All is amazing. You made this look so good!
Thank you guys very much. you've been a huge help. Youve help fine tune my skills . I appreciate your time and your expertise.
That rapid set is very hard to use when working by myself. Next time I'll have to look for the additive. Thanks mike great job.
That really looks good. Thanks for all the great video tutorials.
anchors are a good practive, so is vaccumming the substrate and moistening it. If you want to slow the set down, use other standard bagged concrete 50/50 with the quickset. nice vid, looks good
Yea mate great video , we do the same thing down-under , but always wet down the ground or bed of old concrete first before troweling the mix in ,
so the dryness doesn’t suck the moisture out of the mix too early , like ordinary cement.
You and your team did a great job! WOW! 👍🏾
Can’t believe how good it looks well done
But how long will it last?
Dope vid. Never knew difference between rapidset mortar and cement all. Thanks no cap
Nice work, pride went into this job !!!! Looks great !!!👍
Excellent work. No need to replace what isn't broken. Can't even tell it wasn't all replaced after the paint evened it all out.
Great job my man, came out awesome! Thanks for sharing
Great work.... attention to detail is obvious
👍
Great Job. So smooth and a finished match.
This video was very helpful. I have frost heave damage on my small back walkway. I don’t need the repair to rapidly set or look like a work of art. I just want to make it safe.
Its nice to see someone do a job properly
Nice work, given what you had to work with. Lemons to lemonade! Seriously, you can tell you guys do great work!
Wow, you do really good work! I like the work that I have seen you do on RUclips!
Excellent repair, very impressive, thank you, I'm going to try that.👍👍
Awesome job guys! Like a professional doer of course.
Wow, looks great! I’m a homeowner just looking to fix my sidewalk and I appreciate your videos.
True professionals. Experts at what they do. Looks bran new
Nice work Mike! Thank you for this video
Wow! Y'all are awesome. Thanks so much for sharing.
That was a really good job. Didn't exepect that ending. 👍👍
Very informative and you guys did a great job!
Nice!! Can’t even tell it was patched!! Love it!!
Pretty damn good job you did for a scenario that should be demolished and replaced 👍👍
This looks like a good solution for a spalled area in my garage, up against my driveway. Have it temporarily patched with cold mix asphalt.
Tidy workmanship right there. 👌
Excellent video! You guys did some good work.
Awesome job very professional. 👍 Thank You
Looks like a good job. Hope to do a similar thing on my driveway in the spring time. You really set the bar pretty high.
A driveway will carry more weight so there might be other considerations
I've done homemade asphalt. Ground old asphalt, diesel fuel, and bagged asphalt from Lowe's. Takes a month to cure. Then I use blacktop sealer over that.
Great job and nicely explained 👍
Man excellent video just came across it. Great job explaining and showing!!
Awesome, thank you!
You do good work. I'm thinking that maybe the subsurface should have been wet before pouring the rapid set in, or even on acrylic binder mixed with water to pre-saturate and create a better bond. That's what we always did on concrete parking ramp structures.
@Jesus has given you all. Repent or die. Amen 🙏🏼
Great work came out looking so much better.
You guys are artists !
What a result Amazing
Thank you for sharing! Good information here.
Outstanding repair job. Thank you for sharing 🙏
Thanks for watching!
Wow, looks 100% better 👍👍
Hey Mike, Love the Videos! When would you you decide to use the Green, Brown or Blue bag? Thank you.
That looks great man keep it up man
Night and day!! Great job
You make it look so easy.
Beautiful work!
Great Skills! Excellent....

You guys work look amazing.
Great job! Looks amazing you got my subscription
Very Helpful
Good Job
Very neat. Very professional. Looking for Quickset next time.
The one thing that you forgot to do is to wet the area where you pouring the concrete , And you need to wet it not once but twice. As you know concrete curing is a chemical reaction. If you pour concrete on a dry surface, the surface will suck the water out of the concrete preventing it from properly curing, thus preventing the new concrete from properly bonding to the old.
nice info man
@@cameronb6498 Elementary, amateurs! What a wasted effort. Anyone that worked patching concrete knows that it must be well moistened before patching over it. Sad, a waste of effort and a loss of money for sure.
@@spiro4733 Now we have people following the wrong teacher and the wrong method. A waste of material. Many imposters out there that do more harm than good. Been retired for twenty years, but still do a lot of cement mixes for my own projects. It is sad what we witnessed.
My thoughts exactly as somebody who has done DIY repairs to my concrete driveway. My understanding is that concrete should be applied to a wet surface so that it adheres well.
Tidy end result... for now. As a DIYer, even I noticed straight away a rookie error that the sub material hadn't been made wet, which compromises the bond between the old and new. Were they were following some off the wall instruction specific to that product? Seems unlikely.
Amazing work! thank you
Nice repair! Congratulations
Another awesome job!
Nice job ! Thanks for the video.
The brown bag is great for doing vertical walls.
Great job guys 👍
Looks awesome!!!
Its just sad that the people that run these places don't do these repairs when it starts to go bad.You fellas are doing the handicapers a good deed...I have been in and out wheelchairs ,and the worst is a huge control joint. When being pushed around the rough stuff its very jarring .So thanks!
Nice repair job. Done right
Very neat professional job!
Good job ❤
Both the blue (CementAll) and brown (Mortar Mix) have sand in them, the blue is simply a much finer sand, it also has a slightly higher proportion of cement. I like RapidSets products, even without stone as an abrogate the CementAll gets quite strong, 9,000 PSI, and can work well for a lot of things. The RapidSet line was actually developed out of an Air Force need for rapid runway repairs and it delivers those fast and strong repairs to this day. While each advertise a 15 minute work time that can be restricted or expanded by temp; the set control buys about 20 minutes per baggie, up to 4/55 lb bag, and flow control is also available to thin things out without adding more than 5 qts of water per 55 lb bag. I’ve used CementAll with flow control for years as a concrete resurfacer and have never had an issue with it popping off, and that’s in NY; just make sure things are well hydrated and clean of any dust, grease, etc. and if you want you can also use a bonding agent, which can help with older concrete.
Beat me too it. Thanks
The painting company I used to work for used the blue and yellow for stucco repairs and texture on million-plus dollar homes, never had a call back.
I've watched a little bit of Mike Haduck Masonry and he uses the brown as a medium concrete on stuff like porches or sidewalks. I think you nailed it with your explanations.
Good job. Good video. Nice to see the action in progress. Also, good for the multiple "warnings" about setting up fast. Without that MANY amateur (like me) home owners would be way over their head in deep trouble as this material set up, and the job was only partially finished. I would hire you any day. Thanks.
I just love concreting, and am really interested in how the second section would hold up, that is the section that was the largest on the lower ramp. Mainly because you did not remove a lot of older concrete on the upward side of the repair, cheers, I have subscribed.
Very nice job Mike.
Beautiful job.
good job, i used them is well, yes they set quick and that is what I like, only problem is I have no idea how long a patching will last, I would be great to know so i don't have to do this over next year...
Nice work 👍🏿
I love the smell of CA-6 dust on a chilly fall morning because it reminds me I'm about to get to sweating. XD
Great work and awesome job with the color match. That's the mark of a true professional doing custom work.
Oh wow. Didn't make it past the first sentence. My rocket just fired.
@@tsicby XD
Not sure how I got here, but nice explanation and footage. Best to you and the crew.
Looking good! Thanks!
Great video and great information
Nice job , but I have a question. The damage looks like it may have been from expansion compression or freeze thaw ? Why did you install expansion joints ?
What sealer would you use if this was being done to a driveway?
Looks sharp
Very nice work. looks great.
Rapid - Set products is good stuff.
I've used a lot of Rapid Set products and I love them all. They really are awesome products. I've used the set control and the flow control products. Awesome work sir.
That turned out great. Nice job once again.
Very nice
I appreciate that
@@MikeDayConcrete no problem
Nice finish. Couldn't tell there was a seam in the painted areas.
Incredible ❤️❤️
Nice work friends
Slap some of this on that condo that fell in Florida and good as new
