Korea's Oh Jin Hyek wins the gold medal in the men's individual archery event defeating Japan's Takaharu Furukawa at the Lord's Cricket Ground as part of the London 2012 Olympic Games (3 August).
Archery first appeared in the Olympic Games in 1900, was contested again in 1904, 1908 and 1920, then again, after an absence of 52 years, from 1972 to the present. The most decorated archer in Olympic history is Hubert Van Innis of Belgium who competed in 1900 and 1920, winning six gold and three silver medals.

Korea has a long and glorious history with the art of archery: The ancient and Medieval hunting tradition and century's wars for survival gave the Koreans the perfect art of archery.

In the slow-mo shot at 7:15 you can see that the arrow was still flying totally sideways just a few meters before it hit the target.
Seems to me there was a lot of luck involved, I can't imagine that shooters at that level haven't got their bows and arrows tuned and optimized to the max ...?

I don't give a crap about the safety of the baby. I do archery as well, and I understand all of the safety precautions. I'm just saying that if I were shooting in the gold medal match of the Olympic games and I had to deal with a baby crying in the background as I'm trying to focus in this incredibly MENTAL sport, I'd be ever so tempted to violate a few of those safety measures.
