You should watch the Olympic matches were they had a camera right in the center of the target... A Korean woman broke the camera cause she hit right in the bullseye, I guess it was Atlanta 96 or Barcelona 92, not quite sure.
Is it just me or did Van Dan Burge have a strange follow through? He kind of jerked his bow after releasing, especially on the first shot. Is this a type of follow through that I don’t know about?
Bobby Siecker Actually it does, but this is a recurve bow and you still have longbows, hunting bows and so on, but those arent stable enough and this kind of bow is better to have a fair match with somebody else. I do archery so I should know
A fair mach with somebody else? Bullshit. Archery is about doing more with less. Archery is about stepping in the shoes of our ancestors, using this most ancient of weapons. If you are so obsessed with accuracy, why don't you use a sniper's rifle? Modern recurve and compound archery are a travesty, and a perversion of the ancient art of archery. For thousands of years it has stayed the same, but it has been perverted by 20th century commercialism, and by a bunch of weaklings who can't aim without a visor and hold their bow straight without stabilisers. Look how the Koreans have abandoned their thousand year old archery traditions in favor of those aluminium and carbon monstrosities. I could cry my eyes out. So all you modern archers: throw your modern "archery" equipment in the pit of fire, pick up the wooden bow and pray to Apollo, Ullr, Satet and St. Sebastian that you will be forgiven for your abominable sins!
Just like with any sport in general, it evolves, and first off you do know we technically don't aim right? We just put the sight pin wherever we're looking at and that doesn't necessarily mean wherever we put that pin the arrow automatically goes there. Second, the sight just helps with a consistent aiming/reference point, if you're comparing it to a barebow (or traditional bow) it's pretty much the same thing without the sights and stabilizers. Third, it takes years and years of practice to master a recurve bow so to say that we don't have skill or anything like that is pure BS, these guys in the olympics have trained most of their lives to do what they're doing so to say that they're a bunch of weaklings is a pretty bold statement seeing as they practice day in and day out so they can achieve what they really want. And finally, by definition those are recurve bows
"The sight just helps with a consistent aiming/reference point"... And when in history did archers ever need that to hunt or win wars? That's the problem with sport today. In stead of a means to train a skill, the sport becomes the goal in itself. And that is how ancient arts like archery get perverted with all kinds of ludicrous modern gizmos that have nothing to do with the original weapon or skill to use that weapon.
"The us has never gotten a bronze before" i can see why he is leaning in WAY too much and moves his jaw under his hand instead of the opposite but i m srsly just being nitpicky
When Leonardo DiCaprio cried after winning the medal, I felt that
Oh I'm so proud of Brady Ellison for winning the bronze medal!

Brady Ellison should have been in the final, too bad he met Ku Bonchan in semi.

Yes it's disappointing indeed... look at those bows... it has almost nothing to do with actual archery anymore.

They never got bronze before cause in the 70s 80s and 90s they always got gold.
That's cuz we always got gold lol and occasionally silver.
That's fair but then again his resume says otherwise
I really hope you don't coach
this doesn't look that hard....might be time to give it a go and win a medal
Let’s see if you can even pull a bow that can reach 70m
hope you're still going at it, a goal is never out of reach brother
