I saw Jay a few months ago at a grocery store near my apartment. He was just quietly singing and vibing to himself, I said what's up, he said what's up, as I was walking across the street he rolls by me on a scooter just singing and dancing still. Seemed like a super cool dude, glad to see him happy and healthy. Loved all the movies.
You said it, he did a partial Benjamin Button ! Happy for the bro ! I’m a nineties kid who loved Jay, Silent Bob and Clerks 🙏. I’m ten years clean from opioids now and I look and feel different as well.
What was he singing?

And today on things that never happened…
@@rossw4069 no, it happened.
My wife and I kicked heroin addiction. She saved my life from a terrible overdose and I am forever grateful and dedicated. God bless those who are still struggling with this.
He is the Clit Commander. 😂
Whenever you see this face you will think of the clit
Everybody who’s trying. Keep going.
Fight the good fight
I’m trying man, I really am… 😔
Thanks, my guy is out of town. I'm going through my phone book right now, but I'm certain I'll end up scoring by the end of the day
@@174trek nobody can tell you what to do but I’ve got your back if you need help. Hang in there. It’s hard AF.
@@austins.2495me too bro, me too.
This is the raspiest conversation ever had.
Guess I missed the part when RFK Jr. popped in Lol
Because they've lived rough lives & smoked mad shit.😊
Haha right. Just next Alex Jones in there for the trifecta!
@@skipdog9912 add tj miller and you gotta real show!!
I can't tell you how proud I am of guys like SteveO and Novak and Jason for finding the strength to face the problem and correct it. And thank you for being candid and speaking so openly, you have no idea how many of us you inspire
In a minute and a half Jay described exactly what it is like to be an addict. The good times are the worst times. And the hardest part of getting sober and normal is being normal. You drive around for hours thinking "now what do it do? I could be chasing my fix".
One of the weirdest things for me was going into a public restroom and using it for what it's meant for, then leaving - in under 5 minutes ?!
@@Tricklarockbro ! Same here , and I still get that anxiety like someone is going to walk in on me.
@@817ooze @misisipimike8020 have y'all seen the Kroll Show???
I'm glad Steve-O and Jason are clean and sober. They were both very big parts of my childhood and it's awesome to see them healthy.
Its funny when someone is finally clean and sober there is no need of convincing someone , it shines and glows from every particle of their being. You can just see him shining. Love to see it. Was in rehab with Jay years ago and he never wanted it till now. Love to see he finally wanted it.
Hey, assuming this is true congrats on your own sobriety brother
@@Mr_Jish 100% true, I appreciate the kind words. Sober 25 years thus far. Im one of the lucky ones.

My buddy had a dope problem around the turn of the century here in central NJ. I often took him to the methadone clinic in Asbury Park at 6am, as then it was first come first serve. Several times Jay would be in line and got to talk to him. He was a pretty real dude...
A stevo and jay show in 2001 would’ve been diabolical
DUDEEE for real! I would love to see that
I'm surprised these two weren't partners in crime back in the day, they have a similar energy level.
Yeah but Mewes was a junkie and SteveO was a meth head coke fiend. Two way different energies.
@@cactaceous also different generations really.
@@cactaceous He was funky, not a junkie, but he knew where to get it.
@ Who, George Clinton, Sly Stone or both?
The universe would have imploded if these two hung out back in the day 😂
Hearing he got clean was a nice surprise when I found out.
His movies were such a part of my growing up
Love Jay. So glad he's getting better ❤❤
Jason Mewes sounds like what Steve-O would if he could somehow sand his voice down and make it smoother.
There voice sounds like they're on the verge of exhaling smoke.
Great take from Steve-O. It's enthusiasm. Never stop dancing and you'll never grow old.
Seeing him doing so well makes me feel good.
It's good to see all these entertainers that I love getting clean and getting some happiness and comfort in their lives.
Working on getting there, myself.
We'll get there, homies.
i think most people who partyed in the 90s knew it was bad but still tried to have fun knowing they would get clean at some point
Man, fuck an 'entertainer'! Most of them have the money to get drugs when they want, and most importantly, to get help whenever they want, compared to your average person who's broke and has to wait a week to get into a Methadone clinic. Even then, they can't even afford the 15 + per day to get dosed!
You got this brother
@@marcosvelasquez461 that’s why I don’t do sea creatures anymore

I Love You two.
I grew up in chaos and seeing You sober makes me so Happy
Jay looks like a whole new person. I love it! So happy to see!!
Dude i love Jay to death he is looking so much healthier right now man MUCH LOVE!
Best he's looked in maybe two decades. Fair play to him.
He was always full of life ..wonderful to see him back!
This is true! I worked in a residential rehab in London for 6 years, all the heroin addicts looked 10 years younger than their age and all the alcoholics looked 10 years older
Jay, I can relate. I thank you for your story. I'm so glad I made it through my Crack addiction. I'm glad you're sober
Jay is looking good these days
must have insanely good genetics. Some people are born lucky.
I am so grateful to be off the heroin after a 15 year run. I lost nearly all my friends unfortunately, but have now been sober for over 7 years. Glory to God for giving me a second chance at life.
I think when anyone finishes an addiction they tend to be much happier and healthier which is represented in our skin
Well said
It makes tons of sense that these 2 should do shows together.both were forefront of new alternative comedy of the 90s.the craziness and the recovery.they shouldve hung out back then but if they did..they probably wouldnt be here now..glad theyre hanging out.
Its called getting off drugs... Your body starts to heal 💪
Well yeah but not everyone looks good or healthy after they kick drugs. Even after years of being sober. Look at Edward Furlong. He looks terrible. Lots of people I know too. Getting clean does not guarantee you're gonna start looking better
i saw jason mewes at a comedy show last year in late 2023 and i didnt even recognize him, this dude has some serious crazy genes. 😂 the comedy show was off the rails though
The reason he still looks good even after the heavy drug use is because he simply got lucky or got even luckier with good genes. Then the added bonus of being a famous actor he can afford the better healthcare and quality that helps a good amount in my view as well. If you watch his movies started from the first to now you can see the progress of his usage and how it affected him physically and other ways, it's really quite a sight. Still one of my all-time favorite movie actors oh and he streams on twitch incase no one knew.
Kevin Smith looks twenty years older than Jay, nowadays. Probably because obesity can end up aging you more than drug use!
Until he takes out the top and bottom dentures.
That'll change your mind real fast
It helps too that Jay is living in LA. Being outside on sunny days are so important for your health and mental state!
Jason Mewes in 2012’s “Noobz” was my introduction to him as an actor and I’m so glad that it was… what a legend!
I just can't get over how articulate he's become. I remember watching interviews with him years back when he was slurring and sluggish. He looks so full of beans now. So happy for him
I met jay around 1996, at the chasing Amy premier party. I ate dinner with him, Kevin smith , Mrs smith, and a bunch of the clerks cast. We took photos and had some great laughs. I’m glad to see him thriving!
Jason looks like that because of his spirituality. Dudes grateful, willing, and has people around him that he loves and supports and who support him. That, is the secret.
The haircut is throwing me off lol
“Ran out of dope, only had coke”
Great start for a poem lol
In an east coaster …. From Maryland about 30 mins away from Baltimore … my first impatient rehab I was 21 years old and my mom took me to seabrook house in New Jersey… Jason was there a few months before me … one of the residents in rehab was telling me he was just there … always wished I went sooner 😂
"My brother said it has age preserving qualities." - this is a scientific source in the internet age
He looks good. Hell yeah!
I love Jay he's a part of comedy history
It’s always amazed me how young he still looks through it all. He looks younger than my cousin who’s in his 20s 😂 what a legend. Glad he’s survived.
We still love ya either way guys!
2 legends right here 💯
These 2 basically sound like brothers💖
I have a very similar story, use to hear voices and have conversations with people that werent there, and sometimes with people that were there but with no words lol. Almost died a couple times I'm pretty sure. Got me sober though. Almost 4 years brothers and sisters. ✊️
9 years clean off heroin in 2 weeks myself. Proud of you Jay ❤
And, I also look pretty good for my age. Maybe all the dope we shot up acted as preservatives lol
Edit: oh shit, me and Jay had the exact same practice when getting bags. I also always shot up a very small amount to test its strength. The trade off is while you don't O.D. you do completely devastate your vascular system and collapse your veins a lot faster.
Crazy I just watched Jay and silent Bob strike back last night
“ …ANYTHING THAT MOVES!”
I wont cum in you pete.
So proud of a dude i never met. Jason looks absolutely amazing. Fair play dude ❤
Wouldnt call heroin a "preservative" but what it is though is almost completely non-toxic, or so ive read. Assuming its not cut with anything toxic, and you dont OD, it does surprisingly little damage to the body.
I was a long time heroin addict and have many (now sober) friends who were the same. There is definitely some anecdotal truth to it being a preserver. I always attributed it to the fact that you sleep so much on heroin. I feel like that helps keep you young.
It's a hard road to recovery, but it's worth it . 22 years clean , life is good
People who get sober look better then people who have been sober their whole life. You essentially go back to the day before you started using, it’s like the fountain of youth for ex users.
Jay is slowly turning into Matthew Lillard lol.
All jokes aside, it's great to see him sober and doing well. I know he's been consistent for quite a few years now, but it's actually physically showing more than I've ever seen. Even the way he conducts himself is more intelligent, for lack of better words
I was thinking he looked a little like Dane Cook lol. But I could see Matthew Lillard for sure
The drug’s really took a toll on their bodies. They sound alike too.
Ironic that i turned out to be an addict just like all my childhood heroes? Ive been clean from dope for over 11 years now but part of that addict mentality never goes away. Jay was right that learning how to be a normal person is the hardest part
great show :) also love the hot sauce, ill get the new one on my next order ;)
What i would love to watch a jay life story movie including the acting era that would be amazing!!! Nothing but respect for the guy he's a proper Top lad and a comedy genius
My dude looks good man, keep killing it!!!
Yo! He’s 50 now! I almost didn’t recognize who this is because he still looks so young. Glad to see he made it out alive.
I swear to god, heroin does preserve you. I’m 34 and I get told I look like I’m in my early 20s everyday. No one in jail believed how old I was. A lot of ppl I know who were in active heroin addiction have the same story as well
You know how you get cold as shit when you're sick? It's because dope increases your internal body temperature. That's why you get that warm feeling when you shoot up. So since your body temperature is always elevated, your body produces sweat so your skin is always moist on heroin and opioids. It's like always having moisturizing cream on. Therefore your skin stays young looking.
I've Been clean since 2013. Jason you are amazing. Stevo you are amazing
Rip Marcus.
On q and a for clerks 3 one of audience members opened about quitting dope because of Kevin and Jason story . He was in tears and asked for a hug. The whole theater cried . Not me . I’m a MAN !!!
Anyone who enjoyed this interview should read Kevin smiths autobiography where he talks about jays drug addiction in depth. “Me and my shadow” is one of the best autobiographies I’ve ever read.
Can’t find that anywhere, are you sure that’s the title of book?📕 ☮️🙏🏼
I’m so happy for Jason
Wow shooting speedballs! So glad he made it out and has kept up his sobriety! 🙏
I use to be bad on h but my dealer moved i almost died got clean from dt and never ever again
Iove him❤ blessings Jay
Mewes is a legend
The feeling of being afraid of getting sick was so horrible
Seeing these two guys talk about their sobriety makes me feel old as hell
My sister didnt think she could ever get sober so she bought enough fentanyl to make sure she could never do it again. Her name was Annie Clapper, she was born on November 18th 1987, and she died August 6th 2021. She said her life was so little that no one would notice if she died, but she still had small things that she liked. She was an artist, she was a musician, she was loved enough by our mother and me for the entire world, but it wasnt enough to save her. She existed, she was a beautiful person, and I miss her everyday so much.
Fentanyl has changed the landscape, not just with the OD situation (which is huge) but it’s even harder to kick, and suboxone doesn’t help! ( in my experience)
I'm so glad that we still have Jay with us I have lost so many friends to that drug
Really awesome to see JM clean
Omg, the routine of getting high, and worrying about withdrawal til you can get more drugs is a literal nightmare. I’m so glad to be out of it now. So glad.
Heroin makes you younger in recovery??? Dude my knees and back are worse than all the seniors in my neighborhood and I just turned 30😅
Heroin is a pain reliver i would say everything around heroin besides it ages people
How’s that face looking tho?
Stay strong jay!!!! 🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻
He’s a legend
Shooting coke makes you literally hallucinate voices. The rush also feels so intense, it feels like an overdose.
Jay looks better now than when he did the Jay and Silent Bob reboot.
It’s wild how similar their voices are, like Steve-O is doing a Jason Mewes impression that’s just a bit overwrought
12 year sober. I can relate
Good to see him doing good
Can't wait for the next movie with Kevin 😊
Mewes and Steve-O if they'd done some sort of movie project together back in the late '90's, early '00's, it would have been hilarious! They would def have had to have strict supervision during shooting, but I think that could have been a brilliant comic duo. (No disrespect to Kev, he was great!).
Jay looks great I’m happy for him
I love mewes, big fan, keep going strong bud
Looks way better than when i met the dude at a vape convention about 11 years ago. He was promoting "Mewes Juice" lol
The thing with H is that you sleep a lot so that makes you not look old. As opposed to coke and especially meth
Just by a twist of fate I gave up opioids (after 16 years of use) right before Fentanyl came into the picture like it is now. I had it a few times in patch form, but it was ultra rare when I was an active user. I have absolutely no doubt that I would not be here if I’d have continued using when it hit the scene, especially with the amount of benzos I was plowing down. Been clean since October of 2017, thank God.
Met him at a Horror Convention in Jersey years ago, nice guy. Didn’t even charge for a pic with him.
He's lucky to be alive, so is everyone who is recovering ❤️ but you really gotta look at the long-term effects substances do to the body very high increase risk in heart diseases and kidney disease, neurological disorders and so on
Always loved Jason!
Jay and silent bob are my heroes
I'd watch people do 2×+ more than I would and my perception was "mine will last longer if I don't try to keep up". When I ran out and money went dry, I fought the urge to be a piece of shit to get money more than I was sick- and I couldn't sit up without my head/stomach spinning out of control for 2 or 3 weeks. It was so cheap for me that the life would have been easy peasy to live, but i didn't want to surround myself with people who would do what I was thinking of doing to stay high so I quit
Enthusiasm! Joy, Bliss! Healthy nourishing food good high vibe lifestyle and relationships = Youth

So great to see him looking so healthy ,all best to him
