      Jim, sorry for your loss...sincerely. Watching Brad & Lex's relationship in this video made me think about the relationship I've always wanted with a woman, but unfortunately have yet to find. I keep thinking that while being in love is nice, having that person as your very best friend must be fantastic. These two look so happy just to be in the presence of each other, and for that I'm extremely envious!

      Fortunately we’ve both found a good place to hang out with great people.
      Always stay positive @Beeracuda
      Isolation and loneliness can be very hard on a person and watching Brad&Lex brings happiness and at times sadness because it’s what we long for.
      Sometimes the songs bring up memories both happy and sad as well.
      Relationships find a way when it’s meant to happen.
      It’s nice to watch a real couple with real love and real problems.
      And you can always find a friend here

      @@centuryrox I sincerely hope you find that happiness w/someone that you mentioned. Just to warn you though, my best friend I grew up with was always talking like that in his teens & 20's. I thought he was crazy b/c it was th 80s & there was way too much fun to be had w/o being tied down. He didn't listen & ended up getting involved w/a woman who was batshit crazy & had 3 different kids from 3 different men ( oddly enough, 1 was fathered by a 1st cousin of mine which freaked me out), & he ended up wasting 7yrs of his life w/this psychotic woman. Just don't ever force a relationship or settle for someone that isn't what you want, or your " Dream " will turn into th nightmare of your life🍻

      @@gizzy2403 Thank you very much. I had written a long reply to you, but somehow it didn't post. Not wanting to retype it all, I'll just say I was once in a bad relationship years ago with a psycho. And I'm sure my desire to never repeat that mistake again has negatively impacted my dating relations since. It's ok, because it's better to be alone than it is to never being allowed to be alone, if you understand what I mean.

    This is why I like going to concerts. They're not all great, but when you get a good one and an entire audience into a vibe it becomes a very affirming experience. Like you've experienced something greater than yourself and shared that experience with all those people.

    • @JoinTheProgress
      @JoinTheProgress 3 года назад +1

      I've always had "after concert depression" after every concert I've ever been to. And I've been to a lot. They all have a unique vibe to them and it feels like a giant connection is made that culminates and then ends. And I don't like people much, so that says something.

    That's a MAN's truck right there! I love it! Now I miss my old truck. :(
    Go to as many live shows as you can. Broadway shows, musicals, rock, classical, etc, etc. I've never regretted going even to shows that ended up being horrible because it's an experience. The best I've been to were the Rockettes in NYC (the best live show I've ever seen), Victor Wooten and the Soul Circus, Pink Floyd, TSO, and the show where they had a full orchestra playing the music to Star Wars while watching the movie on a screen above the orchestra. The worst was Depeche Mode, but it was still a memorable experience with friends and I'm glad I went anyway.
    One way to get better at enjoying the music is to watch what they're doing while playing, and try to hear what they're playing while watching. If that made any sense at all. I mean, if it's guitar-driven music (rock, metal, blues) then watch how the guitarist is playing and match what you're seeing with sounds you're hearing. If it's a classical orchestra then try to watch the strings while trying to discern various strings sounds (violins, cellos, bass).
    Look into the local city's philharmonic orchestra or their symphony orchestra and see what they have on their schedule. Maybe a string quartet, where it's just violins, cellos, and bass. Sometimes local botanical gardens or such places will hold small concerts like that. If there's a local ballet company, see what they're offering. Then you'll see dance performance with live music and the overall production (lighting, costuming, stage design, choreography, etc) For example, since it's December you might have The Nutcracker playing near by.
    If there's a university nearby with a theater and vocal performance department, they put on many shows every year. Musicals, operas, jazz band, etc. You can see some really good shows that way, sometimes for free or very cheap.

    Tedeschi Trucks Band is touring now. They'll be in Jacksonville, FL on June 24, 2022. They are a kickass contemporary band, with old-school blues roots. Susan Tedeschi might be one of the best blues voices going, now. (She's also a badass on the guitar.) Derek Trucks was practically raised in the Allman Brothers Band, and is considered one of the top slide guitar players around, today. Check out "The Sky Is Crying" (live at Royal Albert Hall).

    TSO was the brainchild of Savatage producer Paul O'Neill RIP. Came out of Savatage. Al Pitrelli (guitar) was in the last Line Up of the band. The concert opener Welcome, Mozart and Memories (Mozart and Madness in the Savatage version), Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24 are Savatage songs. You should check Them out. Started out very heavy and later got more prog. Songs like Edge of Thorns, Wake of Magellan, City Beneath the Surface, Morphine Child, Tonight He Grins Again, Gutter Ballet and Hall of the Mountain King just to name a few. In my opinion one of the greatest heavy bands around. Sadly original guitarist Criss Oliva died in a car accident after bring hit by a drunk driver RIP. He was phenomenal

    TSO is great. Everyone experiences it differently. Liked this & subbed. Have seen a bunch of your reaction vids. Seeing you two at a concert with different reactions was cool. Love that Lex got into it so much that emotion showed. Look forward to more of these. Gotta go to a concert Brad is a fan of the artist. Not assuming he didn't like TSO. Just that if he went to a concert of an artist he likes...He'll feel it more. That would be his real first concert, IMO. Anyhow, great vlog. Look forward to more. Merry Christmas!

    Anymore, most all concerts have assigned seating. Especially indoors, it makes it much safer for security to respond for whatever the reason. Now it is common practice still today, for festivals or just an outdoor concert to have General Admission. Then it's first come first serve. At those events, depending on the popularity of the Artists, people will actually start showing up a couple days in advance. Just so they can get to the front. Anyways it like you both had a GREAT DAY. Happy for you!

    Since I've attended 1011 concerts since 1973, I think it's fair too say I've attended 1 or 2, "pre-concert" activities over the decades in and around any particular venues parking lots.
    Lived the "Shakedown" life (For those who never heard of "Shakedown", don't ask 🤣 I don't remember anyway) with the "Deadheads" at Grateful Dead shows, sipping STRONG umbrella drinks made for adults with many "Parrotheads" at Jimmy Buffet shows, chilled out comfortably with the mellow vibes from others at Fleetwood Mac, Billy Joel, Elton John, The Eagles, and Crosby, Stills, Nash and Neil Young concerts, laughed at the shenanigans, debauchery and decadence of concert goers at Boston, Aerosmith, Allman Brothers, J Geil's, Bob Seger, Eric Clapton, Jefferson Starship events, "glued in" the same "wavelength and vibe" emitting from Queen, Yes, Genesis, Kansas, Pink Floyd, Supertramp, Electric Light Orchestra fans and fought, yes, with fists... or broken bottles or wood planks or unbrellas, or....well, to be honest....whatever object is laying around you fit for battle with others at Black Sabbath, Metallica, Ted Nugent The Who, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Led Zeppelin brawls. (Sometimes, but not all the time, a pretty rough crowd).
    Ahh the memories.
    If only I had some brain cells left living in my skull to remember such memories.

    BRAD: The kind of "concert" you're thinking of (big rock concert, held in an arena) usually has two different types of admission. "General Admission" is what you're thinking of with the mosh pits. There's also usually assigned seating. Examples: I saw Motley Crue in 1990, and we had General Admission tickets. We were down on the floor pretty close to the stage (There was no mosh pit, because it was 1990 and it was Motley Crue and that just didn't happen). In 1997 I saw Metallica live, and we were in assigned seats, up in the arena farther from the stage. Bu there was a General Admission section with people on the floor, and there WAS a mosh pit at that show.

      Laughing so much my sides hurt. He's definitely got that British vibe. I dig him. You can tell by what he said on the way home that all the metal heads and their "just move, just feel it, don't think" over and over had him thinking that Lex was the norm rocking out!! But I've heard Lex on a vid saying that she was holding herself in because of things that were said about her - I'm glad that didn't last long!. I hope he feels better about not banging his head and playing air drums and guitar and trying to play air bass. And I hope that Lex continues to learn how to bang her head and play it drums and guitars an air bass too - along with every other moment in a song whether voice or instrument that makes her want to move whatever way she wants. People are different. People are who they are. And that's a-okay! In fact, it's perfect !!!
      Dual citizenship - great one !!!

    Brad, you should try to go to a concert of one of the bands you've reacted to. At least that way you'll know many of the songs the band will be playing. It makes the concert that much more enjoyable, and the anticipation of waiting for them to play a certain song you know just adds to the entertainment!
    Unfortunately, many of the bands you've reacted to are long since gone.

      @@BradAndLexVlog - I saw Metallica 5 times Black Album and before. Every concert I had a seat. Including front row for And Justice For All at Red Rocks (I was in front of Kirk Hammett). I've actually only been to a few concerts without a seat. I saw Slayer on their last show with Lamb of God at a place called Fiddler's Green in Denver. That was all General Admission (get there... get where you can... and guard your spot). :) By then I was content to hang back. Mosh pits form and people can easily avoid or join them and they are very noticeable from a distance. Metallica front row was General Admission too... I got there at 8am when I was in High School to make sure I could get my seat. :)

      @@BradAndLexVlog i also have been to almost 200 shows. any indoor venue will have assigned seating…now the outdoor amphitheater in Tampa will have general seating on the lawn…I’m 51 and have lived in FL since 2004 up in Tampa Ive seen…Van Halen(2007&12 DLR reunion tours) Allman Bros. Lynyrd Skynyrd, Poison, Def Leppard, Dokken, RATT, Motley Crue, Alice Cooper, Sebastian Bach, Journey. other venues in FL saw Guns & Roses, Deep Purple, Tesla, Styx, Ted Nugent, Foreigner, REO Speedwagon. the sad reality between age and Covid most of the older great bands aren’t touring anymore or are well past their prime if they are. If you like new country then alot of acts come through FL…I know my teen kid hits me up for tix lol…sad thing is most people could afford tickets to rock concerts in the 80’s and ‘90’s prices now for even average bands now are usually over $100 each. If you were going to spend top dollar back then it’s was to have great seats to the Stones, Ozzy, The Who or something big like the 1996 KISS first reunion tour( think I dropped $300 for second row up in Boston) anyway Lex congrats on getting Brad to a show..love your channel

    I saw these guys in concert too. They rock! On the 'assigned seat' thing; most of the time, a concert has assigned seats. When you buy tickets, they have the seats on them. When you go watch live performances without actual tickets and seats, those are usually considered festivals. However, lots of concerts turn into festivals when people leave the seats and rush the stage.

    Tip: Always take a set of ear plugs to a concert, just in case it's too loud, especially indoors. I went to a RATT concert in 2014 in a small club and it was so loud people, including myself, sounded like warbly chipmunks. Yeah, you don't want that kind of ear damage. Concert experiences vary. Sometimes concerts draw the worst people, but as a general rule most people are just there to have a good time and hear live music. Brad seems like a reserved guy. Ain't nothing wrong with that. Enjoy it in your own way.

    • @alamc200
      @alamc200 3 года назад +5

      Yes, great advice! I always wear ear plugs to dance clubs, or any live music events. I have tinnitus in my ears mainly due to childhood ear infections and if I listen to live music without ear plugs, the ringing in my ears afterwards is even worse/louder. The ear plugs really help, you can still hear it clearly but it's like turning down the volume some. Save your ears!

      If you don't have earplugs, you can wet some tissue and stuff it in your ears. I did this at a Triumph concert where the warmup band's lead singer ( SAXON iirc) was whistling into the microphone and then giggling afterwards. He's lucky the crowd wasn't armed, what an ass.
