    0:34 Are oysters healthy?
    1:12 Thanks for watching
In this video, we’re going to talk about oysters. Are oysters good for you and are they safe to eat? Let’s take a look.
Oysters contain many essential fatty acids, vitamins, and minerals. Here are some of the nutritional benefits of oysters:
    • Omega-3 fatty acids
    • Zinc
    • Protein
    • Vitamin D
    • Vitamin B-12
    • Iron
    • Copper
    • Manganese
    • Selenium
    • B1, B2, B3
The problem with oysters is that they contain toxins. If you’re going to eat them, just don’t do it too frequently.
Oysters are filter feeders, not bottom feeders, so they absorb algae from the water. The selenium in oysters counters some of the heavy metals and toxins that they contain. Selenium is very important in helping the liver remove toxins from the body.

If and/or when I eat any kind of fish or seafood, I take Chlorella to remove most of the heavy metals... Spirulina is also great for removing heavy metals :-) ...and there are probably more. With that in mind, I'm not overly concerned about eating them :-) Great information :-) Thanks

The day before yesterday was the second time... They keep in the fridge for a long time...
Baked...in a closed shell, Garlic, organic raw Jersey butter added when they come out of the oven...🤔Unbeatable!

Hello Dr. Berg! Thank you for all the information I needed to start my ketogenic diet with intermittent fasting, I eat usually once a day and it is enough. I'm trying to convince a friend to try the diet but one problem she asked was the amount cholesterol in the eggs as I eat 4 medium eggs per day and she also has anemia. A video guiding people with anemia on keto would be great. Thank you!

Have you addressed IF or OMAD regarding folks who have chronically low blood pressure? (ranges 89/54 to 90/60 and has dipped to 76/54 before). My average body temp is 97.4 and I stay cold. This has been my adult life. With such a slow metabolism, losing weight has always been a problem. I get very little "empathy" regarding low blood pressure because high blood pressure is such a hot topic. Most folks even say, "you are lucky" when they don't realize the fatigue that accompanies low BP. Thanks for considering a video on this topic!

Don't go thinking that 2 hrs makes little difference, it makes all the difference and it's actually easier to do because hunger just switches down. I have to set the alarm to remember to eat after 18 hrs else I'll just sail past it.

    • @beth-rg8bm

And both toxins are SEASONAL usually around Melt/spawning time!
Usually, we have a tourist come during spawn time and see signs out for oysters from a local farm where the oysters are fed 5 types of algae and never are in marine water!
Then they go to our local beaches and collect a bunch of oysters and clams AT THE WRONG TIME OF YEAR, against local laws... And drop dead or get really sick!
We know if we go for oysters we only go Jan, Feb, and March, its the only time they are totally flushed and cleaned!
Otherwise. We depend on the farmed 100% safe oysters!

Dyah Viona Or good news, because the expense prevents us from eating them frequently. 😄

The answer is NO...you shouldn't eat "ocean filters", I meant oysters... anyone with a Brain should know that..

      Why?

    • @Zakaryah.
      @Zakaryah. 6 лет назад

Skyfoxx23 ...because of INFECTIONS...and it isn't "food"; and because you are what you eat...an oyster is a garbage can for OCEAN WASTE... it's like eating sewage... oysters are NOT made for human consumption at all, don't know why Dr. Berg left that out (really I do) ...they AREN'T even designed to digest the gunk they eat to be redistributed as sustenance for humans...at least not for the one's with BRAINS...

Oysters are high in pearls and unwanted pregnancies as well. This is why there are so many raw oyster bars next to and across the street from planned parenthood centers.
