Stopped all sugar, vege oils and alcohol 8 months ago, focused on 75% carnivore, 4 to 6 eggs a day, beef, salmon, chicken and some pickled veg. Heavy cream, butter, tallow. Lost 12kg, no more gout, no more joint pain. Better mental clarity, mood. Those "reward" foods and most "recipes" are KILLING you folks! Literally. Just eat real food! It makes going out for food a challenge, but its worth it.
I go a few days without chocolates and sweets then i go and buy some i feel better. Idont have sugar in my tea. Have cakes , dont drink fizzy pop. I know sugar is really bad, i do eat pretty healthy otherwise..
Our veg and fruit is strayed with chemicals, so we are all being poisoned slowly. As they wont bigger , longer lasti g food , so thats why sprays are used.
I quit sugar for two days and the third day got severe headache. Then later learned that brain needs glucose and that glucose is its food. Dont go strict on avoiding sugar, unless you are really obese. If you cut sugar eat berries like the doctor says.
3.5 month ago I start super keto, IF, 75%carnivor, lost 6 kg and last week I found out I have hormon related uterus cancer. We can not prevent everything, but we can try to do the best possible.❤
Been a sugar junkie forever, downing sodas like water. Junk food was my poison, got me on the edge of diabetes and a whole mess of health problems. Then found Dr. Berg's channel. Stickin' to his advice like gospel, it's been a real lifesaver.
He's wrong, that doesn't make it stop my sugar . . I literally tried & can't quit it - now what I do is limit it and cram in some fiber/protein right away when I do have some to keep the sugarspike down. Thankfully I easily quit Diet coke almost 2 decades ago & have ice tea with Stevia in place of soda
Dr. Berg literally saved my life no more processed food no more Taco Bell everything I do is real food and I grow vegetables in the small area that I have I grow lots of cruciferous vegetables eat once a day and start off with a big salad maybe some egg cheese and chicken in it but lots of vegetables and I'm 56 and I feel like I'm 25 I don't even realize I squat down to check something out in the garage I couldn't squat down a few years ago I was too fat
DR…… I suffered severe gout for 9 years … you have literally saved my live Sir! After listening and taking notes on most of your amazing videos I have completely cured myself of gout and lost 96 lbs. Got off of all medication and just ran my first 5k . You may not read this but if you do ……THANK YOU!!!!!!!!
I was at 350- 400 grams per day sugar. Quitting was the hardest thing I have ever done but I'm so thankful I quit almost 2 years ago. I too had massive weight loss and all blood work and blood pressure magically going back to normal ranges. My biggest surprise was to discover the connection between arthitis and sugar. No more stiff joints for me!
@@helenalovelock1030 Helena, as long as I'm boasting about kicking the habbit I need to be honest with you. I have relaps several times and I feel so guilty as though I cheated on my wife. I put it behind me, remember who I am and why I'm doing this (grandkids) and I go back to sugar free. My last episode was about a couple of months ago when I ate almost 1/2 gallon of ice cream and a dozen cookies in one day. I'm sure it hurt me but I immediately went back on being sugar free for weeks.
I’m two weeks sugar free and I feel amazing. The white on my tongue is gone, my skin is nicer, my bones don’t ache, my cracked knuckles and heels are healing, and my face looks slimmer already.
Oh my gosh. That happened to me! For 33 years I struggled with terrible breath no matter what I did. I brushed 3 times a day, frosted every day, did not use mouthwashes with alcohol and I would still have such bad breath that people would back away from me while I talked. I got to where I stopped hanging out with people because of the struggle with my death breath. It smelt like really strong poop. I would brush my tongue very well to wear it would look healthy and pink and even when I'd just drink water 30 minutes after, it would get white stuff all on it again. I went to a dentist for help and he recommended using a neti pot. I did so and it did nothing. My dad used to always pick on me and tell me how awful my breath was. He would say it outsold infront of people. That's when I realized how bad it was. When I would go on dates, I would have to carry a toothbrush and Toothpaste in my pocket and excuse myself every 30 minutes to go brush my teeth in secret. I also used a water flosser and a dentists hook every single day. STILL had poop breath. Well, I have been sugar and flour free for 58 days now and a miracle happened. For the first time in 33 years, my tongue is not developing white stuff and I don't even really need to brush my teeth anymore. I still do it because I like to, but my mouth feels clean even when I don't brush. Sometimes I even forget I didn't brush before I left the house. And my teeth always feels so smooth. I've been on the carnivore diet and it had helped my breath tremendously.
@@josephkaranjaranjos8984 in the beginning I ate my bananas. It stopped the sugar craving! I had two a day sometimes. Still lost 21lbs because I cut out refined sugars! No breads, no pasta. I ate an abundance of vegetables! Have your banana if u must, just don’t over do it. I’m now over 30lbs down! After the 5th day I did cut out bananas completely, but switched to watermelon 🤤🤤🤤 Also, drink a little bit of apple cider vinegar before I eat anything. The Apple cider Vinegar helps break down the fructose. I drench my watermelon salad in it before eating it. Love the contrast of flavors.
Doc! I watched your last video on sugar, it was my wake up call. On keto for about 6 to 7 weeks now. The weight is falling off down two belt holes, not watching the scale, just focusing on the life style changes. When I started ( the next day) I was sick for 3 days, sugar cravings lasted about a week. pushed through and I've experienced all the benefits others have listed! The journey continues! Aiming for 185!

I stopped sugar as a 30 day challenge to myself in March 2023, then cut out all carbs and fruit and started keto. I lost 75 pounds in 9 months and now I added fruit back in to maintain my weight. My body craves running and movement which I’ve never felt in my life. Cutting sugar started it all! Thanks for this video 🙌🏼 I also quit social media and started zinc and magnesium and k2 supplement which have been game changers for my sleep, mood motivation and energy levels.
I'm detoxing from sugar and was 'this close' to getting a soft serve ice cream but drove a different way home. Not to say that I won't have any all summer but today I didn't. Whew. 👏
💪🏼 Don’t be too hard on yourself if you enjoy sugar once in a while, if you are 90-95% of the time avoiding sugar at all cost you’re already on track to awesome health ☺️
In the hospital they give candy to cancer patients after their chemotherapy “treatment”… How kind of them, they want you cured and wearing those pink bows….
@@michaelbarry8373 true on the first part, the second part is a bit of a false comparison though imo. Comparing cigarettes with refined sugars would be a better comparison though.
In Europe in 1979 I was taught in high school that we should avoid consuming sugar because causes a dental and weight harm to our body, They didn't give us scientific details as are known now and Dr. Berg explains. Since 70ties I've minimized sugar in my diet, I maintain almost the same weight all my life and have no health issues. My children were not introduced to sugar and now as adults they continue avoiding it.
You did an amazing service to your children. Well done. Sugar is almost drug-like. It's actually not just the sugar floating around that destroys teeth and gums, it's insulin resistance and blood sugar. If a person eats lots of pasta, bread, fried potato in vege oil etc, they will find their teeth feel 'furry' by the days end. Whereas a person on a sustained diet of low carb or who is metabolically has much cleaner teeth and much more healthy gums.
3 months ago I listened to you and went full keto! What a change mentally and physically!.I am 70 yrs. Old and have so much energy it's not funny.thank you so much Dr. You are touching lives! I serve the homeless community through 2 ministeries and I have to be at my maximum mentally and physically and that is what happening!!
Kudos for You @robeetlavrakas ! Oh, you're not old! Here in México, Many people beyond 70 get around on bikes, motorbikes, or just walking. They're very active & live a long time. A friend of mine will be 102 mid-January & i often run into him in the Open Mkt or in the Town plaza playing dominoes with the old men who are at least 15-20 yrs younger than he. Keep it up... Make to 100! Have a great & healthy rest of the year & beyond.
Thank you Dr.Berg for the continuing work. I started a ketogenic diet 8 months ago and intermittent fasting. Since then, I lost 65 lbs, I cycle frequently and stay active every day. I’m 65 years old and feel 35. My A1C was 8.9, dropped to 5.9 within 5 months. All my numbers are within normal ranges, no more aches and pain and mental clarity is much, much improved.
@@Simon-talks there are studies suggesting that even at maintenance calories, if you keep your sugar intake low, especially when your sugar intake was high that you're going to lose about 4 pounds of weight
Since I stopped sugar about 2 months ago including all normal carbohydrate from rice, grain, flour... I lost 10 lbs and I am not even overweight, and my body been feeling so good, feel light, and blood pressure been stabilizing normal 110/65. I just follow your advice of beginner keto, and did it. Having my meal twice a day, with lots of varieties green, vegies, and then avocado, eggs, meat, and seafood, berries for fruits. When I discover I have hypertension, I told my Doctor instead of taking medication, let me try a different diet to help my condition first, and I am glad I did. Thank you so much
be careful with veggies and seafood. veggies cos of the chemicals to save it from pests. maybe bio veggies would be the best. and check the seafoods where they are from (cos of radioactive waste around japanese, so avoid north pac. ocean products. but there are a lot of plastic in our waters....sadly, which is not too healthy. My mental health and energy has improved so much since cutting out sugar!! I absolutely hate when people think cutting sugar is fatphobic or an eating disorder. Health is everything and real food is beautiful and way tastier once you cleanse your destroyed palette. Cutting sugar let’s you taste the natural flavours of vegetables and real food. The way humans were meant to be.
I remember a "Health Yourself" class ~40 years ago at Fairfax Hospital. The man who gave us the class told us that sugar degrades the ability of the immune system to fight colds, flu, etc. That being so, the cold and flu season which runs from Fall through late Winter matches up quite well with Sugar Season which starts with Halloween candy, then pies, cakes and candies at Thanksgiving and Christmas then goes into Valentine's Day where millions of pounds of candy is consumed and lastly Easter candy rounds out the cold and flu disaster.
Dr martin .....look him up he's a dr in canada.....he used yo show a video to his patients where sugar actually put the t cells to sleep!!! They stopped moving
Good morning and greetings from Aruba. Dr Berg, after listening to ur advice about overactive bladder, I started taking vit B1, Selenium and Potassium.. that night and the next 3 days, I used the bathroom ONCE instead of the normal 3-4 since I was 8. Am 53 now.. I slept the whole night yesterday so NOT once did I pee at night. Thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤️
I am 53 and have the bladder of a toddler. Lately I have noticed I don’t use the restroom as often, The sudden urgency is gone, and no having to wear pads due to leakage! This was an unexpected bonus that alone makes this journey worth it!
@sharonthurman2747 Is this done by taking more that a multi vitamin? How much of B1,selenium, potassium do you take if I may ask? I had high levels of selenium before. Is this dangerous?

Keto for 28 days. Felt great, lots of energy. Sleep like a baby. So for the holiday weekend ate BBQ sandwich ,hotdogs, chips, banana pudding and popcorn. didn't sleep at all that night with stomach cramps, acid reflux. woke up feeling terrible with headache and no energy. Eating the holiday SAD diet was not worth it.
That’s why I eat nuts instead of chips. For popcorn, I have no butter and put seasoning in instead. It is usually sriracha flavor or sometimes cayenne pepper. For any meats I usually like to have them dry rub and no butter. If it has to have oil, I usually have olive oil. For any sweets, I would have high cocoa dark chocolate and whole fruits. Vegetables with salsa or guacamole would be an appetizer I usually have
I learned that the hard way over winter holidays as well 🙏 took me off track but I learned it’s best to abstain from junk for the best . I tried balancing , cutting off gave the best results .
I didn't think that sugar was all that bad because its sweet and seems harmless. After watch this video it is a major eye opener and life changer. I am now slowly going off sugar so it not a shock to my system. I am also finding myself feeling more alert and not so sleepy al the time and I have more energy for life. Thanks for the video Doc.
Sadly every food in the supermarket contains some type of sugar so It's quite hard to find anything healthy to eat. And if we want to eat fully healthy things that you know is not dna manipulated you have to grow your own.
I remember eating a ton of sugar through cereal, candy, pastry and pretty much everything that has added sugar in it back when i was a kid. Didn’t have any problems until i was 17, and started having bleeding gums, lethargy, joint pain, low cognitive function, dry corners of the mouth and etc. Discovered fasting and Dr Berg’s channel. Total game changer. I still have my pastry here and there, but thanks to this channel, my awareness doesn’t allow me to overdo it.
Since going Keto in February, I've lost 25 pounds, my blood pressure is down from 145/90 avg to 112/72 avg. My last glucose test was 81. I have more energy than I have in the last several years. I went on a field trip to an amusement park with my 18 year old daughter and her friends. They all crashed by 4:30 pm, but I kept going. I managed to conquer every roller coaster in the park, and thst was after hiking 5 miles the night before. If I do get a sweet craving, I have one square of 90% cacao chocolate with a little butter or a handful of berries and I'm good. Thanks to Dr. Berg and Dr. Berry for turning me on to this diet.
I am on day 6 water fasting. This is really great motivation to completely clean up my diet afterwards. Consistency is sometimes so hard. That‘s why detailed explanations are so helpful and that I am not the only one on this journey!
Congrats on day 6! If your experience is anything like all of mine, you should be feeling fantastic right now. First few days are rough but after that I felt top of the world!

I really love Dr Berg's approach in every video. It usually seems to go something like: 1) Here's what the mechanism of action is 2) Here's what the end result is 3) I'm not gonna tell you to not/never eat that, but now at least you know what the issues are 4) Here's what you can do to mitigate the damage
Started Keto and stopped abusing sugar October 2022. Dropped 35 pounds! All associated ailments disappeared like inflammation, sleepiness, GURD, etc. Now it's a lifestyle and I know I am doing the right thing and feel better for it.
One of the best, simplistic informational videos that I have seen to date on sugar consumption. I had a terrible habit of consuming candy and saturated foods late at night, which had an adverse effect on my body. Although I would work out on a frequent basis, I suffered from frequent headaches and anxiety attacks. I didn't realize the level of my sugar addiction until my immune system became compromised and I would battle frequent viruses. Since eliminating candy and other processed sugars, I've increased my daily functional strength, added additional mental clarity, and sustain a healthier approach to life in general!
I've been following your video lessons since Sept 2018. Started clean keto at that time, lost 40# by December, felt great and started 2019 in complete remission from Lupus & Dermatomyositis! As a nurse practitioner,I was able to influence others thru this accomplishment. But in 2020, menopause, COVID, severe depression after loss of Dad and 4 other family members did me in! Nutrition, exercise & sleep changes led to gaining 30# by the end of that year. I have struggled to get back on track ever since. The motivation is so difficult to maintain.
Tough times don’t last, but tough people do. You cannot change the past, and the future has not come. All you have control over is the current moment. And in this moment, you have a choice: to be better, or bitter. It’s may be tough, but this heat and pressure will turn you into a diamond. You’re okay with who you are, and now all you have left to go it up. You’ll meet your goals. With consistency and patience, you can achieve anything!
Ever since I started eating fresh meat, veggies, fermented foods, and nuts as my main diet, my brain has been working better than ever. Better memory, focus, idea production, and mood. Your videos helped me understand this, thank you.
Thank you Dr. Berg for all of your wealth of information. I’m very thankful and now I have to retrain myself on my eating habits. I’m not bad and I’m not overweight & that’s sometimes the thing that keeps me stringing the sugar along. I need to get serious and do what is best for my body. I'm on day 17 of no sugar and have no cravings for it; the first week was actually easy since I've already been fasting for about a year now. Reading labels on desserts help you to remember the food is trash if it needs a ton of added sugar. Can't wait for my hyperpigmentation to clear.
Wow! I'm day six, and I'm feeling so much better, and my pants actually fit so much better! I've completed lost my addiction to sugar. Also, the burning in my toes that began a few months ago has completely gone away!!! 6 days!!! Thank you for your clear and positive way of teaching!

Thank you, Dr. Berg, for shedding light on the hidden dangers of sugar. It's eye-opening to realize how much hidden sugar lurks in our everyday food. Many processed foods, condiments, and even seemingly healthy options can be loaded with hidden sugars, contributing to various health issues. It's important to read food labels carefully and be mindful of ingredients like high fructose corn syrup, dextrose, or maltose. Educating ourselves about hidden sugars empowers us to make healthier choices. Your videos are truly enlightening and have been instrumental in improving my understanding of nutrition. Thank you for your invaluable insights!
@@tela2171 Thank you for your comment, Tela. We understand your perspective that sugar itself may not be dangerous in moderation, and it's indeed true that moderation plays a crucial role in our overall health. However, Dr. Berg's videos and the studies we have followed present the hidden dangers of excessive sugar consumption in our modern diet. While natural sugars found in whole fruits are accompanied by fiber and other beneficial nutrients, it's important to note that excessive consumption of even natural sugars can also have negative health effects. Dr. Berg's emphasis on reducing overall sugar intake, including both added and natural sugars, aligns with the goal of optimizing our health and preventing various health conditions. By raising awareness about the hidden sugars in our everyday food and encouraging mindful consumption, we aim to empower individuals to make informed choices for their well-being. I'm now on a trial 4 week "sugar free" health diet plan. I still eat berries and of course have the odd day of sugar ( if someone is cooking for me or I am out for dinner) but for the MOST part I feel fantastic. I am 3 weeks in. Its been a tough journey, with the cravings.. staying disciplined etc. But I'm noticing a better longer sleep. My skin on my face has cleared up alot more, and also I can go longer without food. Unfortunately all of us younger folk have grown up on garbage food and have been sick all of our lives. I ate nothing but sugar and crap for the first 25 years of my life. Result was lyme disease at 25 and a rough time for 4 years until I finally cleaned up my diet. I'm 31 now and still healing from all those years of (ignorant) negligence, but it makes a huge difference.

It has been 2 years since I stopped consuming sugar, and the effects on my body have been incredibly positive. However, the beginning was very challenging. The first day without sugar was still okay, but by the second and third day, cravings for something sweet started to emerge. From day 4 to a week later, I experienced intense cravings, as if I really needed and wanted to eat something sweet. After getting through this withdrawal phase, everything gradually improved, and I noticed some significant changes in my body. I now feel full for a longer time, experience less fatigue from my daily job activities, and my mood has improved. Additionally, I have noticed that my skin is brighter (all the ladies will love this, lol). So, yeah, that's what happened to me, but it's important to note that the impact can vary from person to person.
You and others have convinced me that sugar and carbs (and snacking) are really the body’s villain. The more I cut it out, the healthier I get. Dr. Berg continues to motivate ourselves to eat healthily. I cannot cut all the sugar now, but I consume it significantly less now. I used to eat candy bars and drink two liters of soda per day, and 2L of soda is like 200g of sucrose alone!now I avoid eating anything sugary if possible, and while I couldn't win over my soda addiction, I've cut it to one 0.5L can per day multiple times a week. I hope I can better myself and quit soda altogether, at least I'm trying! Never though sugar addiction is so strong within me. Even caffeine wasn't so hard after all.
It was really difficult for me to quit sugar 1 year ago, but I built up a habit of only consuming sugar 3 times a week and then twice a week to once a week. And I personally recommend this technique if it’s really difficult for you to quit sugar. But I now only eat sugar once a week and workout often ’cause I can’t really quit sugar completely.
I’ve watched hundreds of your videos and this ONE might be the best one to date. With knowledge, thanks in LARGE PART to your channel and my dedication to diet and exercise, I’ve lost nearly 60 pounds (235 to 175 in 6 months, maintaining for another 6 months) and I’m a competitive triathlete again. My sister was a sugar junkie her whole life. She had candy all over her house as an adult. Lost all her teeth by time she was 40. She died of a glioblastoma brain tumor. 😢 Sugar is not good.
Dr Berg came across your channel after some bloodwork results revealed 112 fasting blood sugar and 5.4 a1c. Not terrible but could be better. I'm doing 20/4 fasting keto diet, week 8 and my weight went from 200 to 179 and all of my numbers are normal. I'm 46 years old and I feel like I'm 25 again. Thank you sir!
After being keto for 3 years, I ate chocolate this Easter. I'm trying to quit sugar, its so hard, Easter chocolate was not worth it. I ate popcorn today and had a major sugar crash. I'm going to try a fast tomorrow and see if I can get back to ketosis ❤
Thank you Dr Berg! Sugar was very hard to quit but I haven't had a belly ache yet since starting Keto. That's why I started my keto journey. You rock 🥰
I have always been a sugar addict. I lived on candy as a small child. My children were following in my footsteps. When they were teens, I printed off a 4 page list of the bad effects of sugar and left it on the kitchen table. I never said anything, just left it there. Now as grown ups they are all very careful and limit sugar. I have also mostly eliminated it.
I stopped eating sugar a month ago due to problems with gut health. I stopped eating white bread, white rice, and junk food too. The biggest challenge was stopping eating sweets, chocolate, pastry etc. because those were my comfort food. I started noticing a more balanced mood and a calmer feeling inside of my body. My anxiety of 20+ years is almost completely gone - the moments in which I would usually feel intense anxiety I just don't have that disbalance in my body and mind to let it overwhelm me, I somehow stop it in its roots. It's like sugar was fueling my anxiety and irritation, as well as my bad mood and other physical symptoms of anxiety, and before I thought sugar helped me calm it down. It's quite the opposite, I don't even have cravings now for sweet things, nor various soda drinks and fruit juices. It was hard at the beginning (sugary food was my comfort food since childhood and especially during my teenage years). I feel balanced and I feel the sense of security in my own body after stopping eating sugar for only one month, imagine what a year would do. It's like I was addicted to it and of course didn't know it, it never even crossed my mind.
Also, with a more balanced diet, I use vitamine B, zinc, vitamine C, magnesium, and sometimes vitamin D. That's the combination I've been using for a couple of years, I searched for the best supplements for reducing anxiety and made this combination. It works both for better sleep and reducing anxiety and for strengthening your immune system.
I appreciate you! You have helped me so much with your free tutoring. You explain things so they are easy for this 74 yr old lady to understand. Sincere thanks
i am watching this because my doctor said i should lose weight to help treat my pcos, really almost everything is worse with sugar! thank you for the great content
Thank you Dr. Berg for reminding me not to go back to sugar. There are lots of healthy and tasty alternatives. I just made myself a sugar-free frappuccino with ice, cacao, vanilla extract, coconut milk. Nothing else, no sweeteners and it tastes amazing, just like ice cream but all ingredients are healthy for me.
@Kyra Same! I've tried erythritol in the past but it messed up my gut biome and gave me a skin rash. My skin is always healthy so that was a big sign that I ingested something bad for me. Never had an issue since stopping the artificial sweeteners. I got used to the taste of real foods without adding sweetness anyway. Thank you for your comment, wishing you and your family perfect health always.
As a former big time sugar addict, i think it isn‘t so much about lack of knowledge and awareness anymore but a lack of knowing how to get away from sugar without going crazy. Because cutting out the sugar without actually taking additional measurements to stabilize your blood sugar is going to drive you up the walls. It takes inhuman amounts of self discipline to not cave and thus the slightest hardship (like getting sick or bad news) will throw you off easily. Learning how to eat for optimal blood sugar is what finally made it a walk in the park to not feel the slightest desire to go back to sugar again. Just yesterday i was at a bday party and it was simply amazing how the whole dessert buffet did not tempt me at all. I was still comfortably satiated from lunch. I will forever be grateful i got away from that habit for good❤
@@ThePlaygroundEarth I’ve been following the methods and tipps as recommended by jessie inchauspé, but they are basically the same as what everyone recommends that talks about this topic. She recs things like switching to a savory breakfast - starting every meal with veggies/salad - if you are going to eat starches/sugar, eat them last after fiber/protein/fat - never eat plain starches/sugar, pair them with fiber/protein/fat - go for a walk/move after eating to flatten the curve - have vinegar (personally i just put it in the dressing for the appetizer salad, instead of drinking it like many people do) before a meal, have cinnamon with your meals, etc. I’ve only been doing this for three weeks and i already have notices huge benefits, like no more PMS, no more cravings to snack in between meal, my acne has cleared up, my insomnia has improved massively which means my energy and mood is way better. I honestly wish i would have realized the huge impact blood sugar has on everything much sooner😅
Very motivating and informative content. Can't find a more valuable video for today's eating habits of people around the world. This one video can literally change the lives of some people.
The thing I think is problematic the most is that every thing you do with friends family etc involves eating. It’s often pressure and hard to eat healthy when others around you don’t understand it or don’t want to understand what’s healthy and what’s not.
Yes and to get treated like you are the problem when setting boundaries and saying no to sugar is beyond me 🤦♀️ I just had this situation happening to me with a setting of family members and it was really annoying to get pressured to eat sugar and unhealthy foods - I can’t imagine being this ignorant, luckily I have a strong personality but for those who don’t it’s really bad …
There is wide spread perception that fructose is harmless. That eating copious amounts of fruit is good for your health. This video is so important and not enough people will see it to get this important message. Eat low carb, save your life. :)
With sugar crammed into so many things we eat, it’s no wonder so many people are oblivious to this. I remember a German friend of mine visiting the state being confused as to how and why our breads are sweet. Almost all supermarket breads have added sugar. Apparently in Germany and many other European countries, bread is bread, zero sugar. This is just one example.

Since 70ties I've minimized sugar in my diet, I maintain almost the same weight all my life and have no health issues. My children were not introduced to sugar and now as adults they continue avoiding it.
European diet is healthy compared with american one which is poor chemicals From seed to fi nal product has a long way of "adding ". Not good at all.

I WISH I was 200 lbs., I'd be fairly slim, working on getting to that and then eventually to 175 lbs.
I really love Dr Berg's approach in every video. It usually seems to go something like:
1) Here's what the mechanism of action is
2) Here's what the end result is
3) I'm not gonna tell you to not/never eat that, but now at least you know what the issues are
4) Here's what you can do to mitigate the damage
Stay strong, you can pull through this!
I’m bad about overeating…I just keep eating…waiting till I’m full & then overfill hits me & I’m mad at myself. I’m 63 and I know how beneficial this advice can be for my body & brain! 😊 🙏🏻
Hello I commend you for recognizing that you need to make changes..so do I, we are all imperfect but with the help of God we can make these changes
I wish you well on your journey! 😊
Eat smaller bites and speak : the whole process will take longer.
Doctor, I gave up sugar at 37 years old. Now I am 50 years old. I was accidentally diagnosed with breast cancer two weeks ago. I have been eating organic food for a long time and exercising daily. I am also surprised about it. But face it strong.thanks for your advice ❤
Hope you get well soon
Your brain needs glycogen, there is a reason glucogenesis happens, even without external sugar input.
Thank you Dr. Berg for another great video. I avoid sugar like it is poison. I read every label and avoid it. Of course I buy very, very little packaged products. But thank you for being one of the best sources for keeping us healthy. I thank God for providing you in our lives and keeping us all informed/ healthy, safe. You truly are a blessing to all of us.

Sugar itself is not dangerous. It's about how much one consumes it that can make it dangerous for them
@@tela2171 Thank you for your comment, Tela.
It's always wise to consider the comprehensive body of evidence and expert opinions to make educated decisions about our health.

I'm trying to recommend it to others I know but nobody takes me seriously. I just don't wanna carry on life with people getting sick around me. I so so wish everyone tried it. My health is on the up, finally, and now I feel confident and healthy enough to start thinking about having children. Thanks Dr Berg for this teaching and affirming that what I am doing is good for me

I didn’t even feel like I needed to brush my teeth when I stopped sugar. brushed them anyway:)

Thank you Dr Berg! Sugar was very hard to quit but I haven't had a belly ache yet since starting Keto. That's why I started my keto journey. You rock 🥰
$ugar's inflammatory as HELL.
Since starting Keto/IF, I find it a valuable practice to consider sugar what it is… dose dependent, slow acting poison to the human body.
You are amazing and I'm so happy to see you talking about this. So much that's gone wrong with my body was fixed by attending to it with your wisdom.

I will forever be grateful i got away from that habit for good❤
What specifically would you recommend to stabilise blood sugar?

With sugar crammed into so many things we eat, it’s no wonder so many people are oblivious to this.
