    If the exterior of 2019 falcon and interior of 2015 falcon is combined, it will be a perfect falcon (not counting the UCS one) in my opinion.

    • @kevinm5940

    10:00 it's also the same reason why they always use colored pieces on the inside of builds. I think they released a Batmobile set that was entirely black on the inside, and they recieved a lot of complaints about how it was hard to find specific pieces.

    So for me, the 2019 MF is the first Falcon I've had since 2004. It's actually one of the sets that brought me back into Lego after an almost 10 year gap. While I can't compare it to the one from 17, I can say It is one of my favorite sets/falcons I've owned. Could use a bit more interior engine details but its not that worrisome. Great review man, love this style of video.

    I like this kind of review. I really appreciate your comments on the different sets, especially that you are considering how/why the designs change, what sacrifices are made to balance esthetics, buildability, and accuracy to the source - all constraints that lego has to accommodate.
    As a recent (re)discoverer of lego, it helps to hear someone with such a lengthy historical perspective. Your insights are very helpful. thanks.

    It's just a shame Lego doesn't really pay as much attention to the interior of sets like these nowadays as they did previously, Lego has definitely significantly improved their set design as seen on the outside of the 2019, but comparing the interiors to the 2004 version you can tell it's just so open and empty, which might be good for play but does feel like a regression. Great review as always!

    • @coraldiamond1922
      @coraldiamond1922 3 года назад +4

      Personally I’m not bothered by lack of things to interact with inside as most of the time that will probably be covered up however I think space to put a load of figures in is more important. It’s basically Lego making sacrifices here or there to keep it within a certain budget I guess.

    • @yournutt
      @yournutt 3 года назад +4

      I dont get this, the 2019 interior is more accurate and has more stuff to interact with inside of it than the 2004 version. The hyperdrive in the 2004 one was really the only interesting thing on the interior and even that wasn't technically accurate

    First I wanna say thank u Jang! When I saw the cover image of this post, I’m immediately triggered by those two sets, since they are exactly the only two Millennium Falcons I collected. And I’m probably the same age as u, a 40+ designer who started LEGO hobby because of my baby girl merely two years ago. I did not have the luxury to play and even know lego during my childhood. After I had my daughter, I was sought of like reborn as a kid. Fortunately enough did I came across ur channel at very early stage of my LEGO life. Now I already collected 100+ Star Wars set, many were inspired by ur reviews, which is so vivid, detailed, clear and honest, always cuts to the essence of the sets in such a designer’s point of view, while still kids friendly. Sometimes I felt like watching a fairy tale when navigating ur channel. I guess ur channel is probably the only one that understands how to create a meaningful experience to each set, not just building process, not just the finished look, not just play, but the total experience. Thank u again for all the videos and all the efforts on the setup, shooting & producing.
    So let’s back to the Falcon. I truly believe 75105 & 75257 are two of the finest designs among all those MFs (if not including 75192). That’s why I even designed two stands for them as my first ever LEGO Mocs, which I believe might be one of the best Stands for MF so far as we know. Unlike any other stands, u can keep all the landing gears on while hopping on/off the stands with a single click made by a rubber lock. The very steady stands also allow less storage space when displayed on a tight book shelf. So if u are interested, please take a look at ruclips.net/video/6Tlkr5-B1pE/видео.html . I can send u the instruction if u’d like to.
    Anyway, keep reviewing and happy building!

    No doubt about it, the Lego Millennium Falcon has gone through many iterations throughout the years, so many versions! The 2000 version was way off of the real look of the Falcon, but with the pieces available at the time, they didn't have many choices, now it's much closer to the real thing and it's got great details that wasn't available earlier, of course the UCS version may be more minifig scaled, but it's very hard to swallow the outrageous price on it, not to mention all the space it would take on a shelf, no matter how awesome it is. I wouldn't be surprised if they decided to make another (affordable) Falcon in a year or two! BTW, Happy Halloween, Jang and all the fans! Keep safe!

    Frontview: Have you see the horizontal gaps at the front of 75257? From cockpit to the middle (and mirrows on the other side).
    looks like intakes - not a great solution. Much better covered in 75105 (by the main ring skeleton around the MF body).

    I dream of one last Millenium Falcon in between UCS and playset size where there are all "flaws" fixed: no gaps, mandibles that connect properly to any point of the main body, a fully finished underside, proper interior, an actual way through to the cockpit, together with the large canopy piece. ☺️
    As for Lego designers, they even have to consider stuff like how shapes/parts of the build may cause damage/injuries during the assembly process or stuff like 'this part from this factory is 1/10 of a cent cheaper, do a substitute.' ...and surely many more.
    Your 'wave'-overviews are always great and so very well done!

    The Falcon was the second lego set I bought (first was the First Order TIE Fighter). The 'pizza gaps' don't really bother me, I just wanted to get a Millennium Falcon, because it's THE ship in Star Wars.
    Of course, there is no telling there was gonna be another Falcon in 2019, but I just had to have one Falcon in my collection. You'll get "The force awakens" Han Solo, Rey & Finn. Not too thrilled about the Kanjiklub gangsters.

    I've been thinking of picking up TRoS falcon before it retires. What are the chances the Falcon gets a remake within the next ~1-2 years? I'd love to get an original trilogy version with the new design changes.

    I like the idea of this series, hopefully you'd get to focus on the minifigures as well

    Just got the new Falcon for 100 bucks, going to use my Han figure from the micro fighter to make it complete lol. The new one is just so good. It looks like UCS without the price of being UCS.

    Thanks for This video, because with this and a few other comparison vids, I have come to a conclusion that I am going to buy the 2019 Falcon to be My first and only Falcon (I cant afford two falcons, and either way I cant display both falcons as I dont have too much display space)

    I got the 2015 set mostly cause after the movie it was obvious that no Han Solo would be included in subsequent releases. I’m sure if they touch the sequels again they might but that was key for me. As good as the newer one is it feels wrong without its true captain at the helm.

      75257 IS still on shelves. You don't want 75105 because it's worse in every way

    You should do what you did with the Death Star with one of them and change the style.

    I would have never pegged Jang as being 45+ years old. I'd say a solid 37ish. But 40+? Jesus
