I bought the new AT-AT a couple days ago, the first LEGO walker I’ve ever gotten (not counting small scout Walkers), and, while that price is pretty...crazy...it’s rather good, in terms of figures, design, interior space, height, color and display value. I almost got the AT-M6, but I didn’t for whatever reason, wonder what it’s like to have in person
Jang, thank you for your great videos! Now that Hidden Side is down, wouldn't it be great to have a look back on what went wrong with this series? Where were opportunities and where did LEGO make mistakes. I would really like to hear your thoughts on the topic because all the hate Hidden Side got for the App doesn't seem to blend in with the overall quality of the builds and sets.
In the opinion of a random commenter, I think Hidden Side failed because Nobody Asked For It. No one was clamoring for an AR Lego game (as far as I know), they just did one. If as much energy as goes into Ninjago went into Hidden Side, it would have succeeded. The obscure story shorts could have been a cartoon for sets that are clearly lore-heavy. Also the box art needed to show the sets not weird artwork
Hidden Side had some good and even really good sets but horrible packaging for buyers and sellers in shops. And the App is just plain wrong for Lego. Lego is supposed to inspire creativity by building and get kids away from smart phones and not push them toward them.
Lego should just never ever stimulate kids to pick up their phones to do toy stuff, Lego should want to stay and focus on being THE alternative to parents and kids to play without the use of a phone by the kids. Kids will learn phone shizzle randomly everywhere, Lego doesn´t have to train them in that, nor should Lego feel a need to incorporate the phone in fear of loosing the kids from playing Lego due to the phone. If Lego would continu to make great sets, kids will fantasize play themselves for ever. Some of the hidden side sets where nice, but some where diminished by the use of the (lime??)green haunted pieces. The school for instance was cool, but could have been better if the space needed for aunted action was used for creating play space.
