I used some of your modifications for my own falcon, I improvised in a lot of things cause I lacked the required pieces (and I couldn't afford them). Now, my falcon looks a lot better, it still has that original look for the most part, but it feels complete now. My mods consist of the following: I replaced the trans red studs on the front of the mandibles with clear studs, because it felt more accurate. Mandibles are a plate thicker (Could've made it a bit more thicker but I liked the thinner aesthetic of the falcon). Removed the annoying swivel 2x2 plate that made the quad turret on the middle of the ship spin like crazy. Patched up the weird opening near the cockpit area (That annoyed me a lot whenever I looked at the set from above). Added the landing gear near the front of the ship for accuracy (also to prevent the set from sinking from the front whenever you put a bit of weight on it), I also made it so that I could manually retract it when I want the ship in flight mode, although that retracting mod was only done for the front landing gear because I didn't have the technic parts to modify the rest of them. Gave the back details a small upgrade, those 4 sloped pieces to be specific, I replaced the 2 middle dark gray sloped parts with their light bluish gray counterpart to give the back a little bit of a pattern). The bottom of the ship looked too plain so I added sloped bricks to give it a bit of a more rounded shape (I used a technique where I would put technic pins with studs under the bricks so that it would stick to the anti-studs the way I want them to, probably an illegal technique but it works. This specific upgrade/mod is my favorite one because it made the ship look more rounded instead of sharp, especially when you look at it from the back). The interior is where I made the most changes but It's too complicated to explain, for me at least. So yeah! Those are the modifications that I added to my falcon. Thanks for giving me good ideas! 🌟
Very nice, bro! I love it! u inspire me to get 1. The radar dish and the front 1 layer in height are very good mod. Keep it up! May the force be with you!
Great mods. The thin mandibles have really been bugging me even while assembling it this weekend, this is excellent. Getting rid of that whimpy hinge in the process is a big bonus. I love how this looks, all of it. There's a channel called "the big white bricks" where they dis some cool mods too, one of which was to alter the cockpit so it could fit three, without changing the appearance on the outside. I agree with you that the hinged solution that fits 4 is a sacrifice to the look that's not worth it. The interior as is out of the box I don't really like, but there's so much space I don't mind at all. It's an invitation to start doing some lego 😊
i recently got this set on goodwill for halve price and i built it up and im now modifying it to look like a ucs set and this video inspired me to work on it
Recently just bought the 2019 falcon I think Ill plan on modding it as soon as I build it. I have the 2011 one also but its been broken for many years so Ill probably use parts from that as well. Great mod!
This is brilliant it covers everything you need to make the falcon more authentic a great job well done and thank you for sharing this and i hope you dont mind me borrowing some of your ideas
Recently I’ve been rebuilding this falcon after I moved and I want to make it just look cooler, and a ton of this is gonna be really helpful. Looks really good btw
This is great👌🏼we just got 2019 one too n are modding some, I’m about to order new technic pieces for the landing gear that are 1 hole longer, to make it slightly higher, it really drives me nuts that the figs just barely can’t fit under it to actually go in ramp to get on ship lol
Thinking about getting this set while I still can, and will definitely try to mod it. Yours looks very nice compared to the original, which was already pretty good!
Great job mate! One suggestion: the tan padding that you added around the back circumference may be a bit more effective if you add it vertically and only to delimit different compartments. Like for example a vertical padded pillar between the crew space and the escape pod area. I will try that if i can find the tan bricks.
Thanks man! And I understand what you mean! I tried soooooo many things with those tan panels, and none of them worked well for me. This was the best compromise to give it the indication of more paneling, despite not looking totally accurate
This is amazing I really want to do something like this with mine but I am lacking pieces because I’ve used most of them for other builds and modifications
Did this with a ghost rider set I lost pieces for made it look like it had engine parts and the front grill got fixes with a clear and orange pieces that make it seem more like a challenger and also just got myself this falcon set also it’s a pretty fun build
Always love seeing people make sets better, and you knocked it out of the park with this one. Great job, and I always love seeing your videos!
Thank you so much dude! :)
This is the set LEGO should make.

It's definitely worth picking up! Even without modding it, it's still the best system-scale Falcon they've ever done

Your falcon looks stunning btw
Done great job
Awesome work
really great job! looks amazing. would you mind sharing the part number of the grey rods at the front?
This is amazing I really want to do something like this with mine but I am lacking pieces because I’ve used most of them for other builds and modifications
The front looks so good
Thank you!
I've bought 2 used millennium falcons because of this video, would you please consider a tutorial for the key points of this custom falcon? Thanks!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Are instructions and parts lists availible anywhere?
Unfortunately not, I just kinda build this without making note of anything
@@WatermelonStudios A parts list would be greatly appreciated if you could put one together (mainly for the mandibles)
Can you make a tutorial on how make the gunner seat
Did this with a ghost rider set I lost pieces for made it look like it had engine parts and the front grill got fixes with a clear and orange pieces that make it seem more like a challenger and also just got myself this falcon set also it’s a pretty fun build
Very cool
Thanks!
@@WatermelonStudios your very welcome
