Definitely wish they’d do expandable Star Wars areas... like how they’re treating Harry Potter
I don't think Star Wars has any locations that are deserving of the annual expandable set format of the Harry Potter castle. I do think Star Wars could benefit from the Harry Potter format of including a decent amount of terrain with most of its sets.
They do....(comics)
I wish they'd use the Harry Potter method to build a Death Star instead of releasing the large diorama set.
@@V-grandraccoon jedi temple
Tatooine😯
I bought Mos Eisley as soon as it became available. That should tell you how I feel about Star Wars locations.
Well.. Your purpose for buying mos Eisley might be a bit different from what people usually buy stuff for...
I think structure builds are pretty important for star wars to break the monotony of ship builds from time to time
There are plenty of important scenes that happen that include very few of any vehicles so I think it was hard for them not to make sets depicting different scenes. After all if you look at the rest of the saga then even within the time frame between 2015 to 2020 we have received plenty of structure based stuff.
Ngl I prefer structure based sets compared to ships, only thing is that they're mostly overpriced
I really like when Lego makes environment builds for Lego Star Wars. I hope one day we can get stuff like a Geonosian Factory in a style similar to that Rathtar escape or a Tantive corridor with escape pod for the iconic opening sequence of Episode IV.
“Nice to have as a lil desk model”
Me buying Lego Diagon Alley for my lil desk model... :)
Me buying LEGO UCS Slave 1 for my lil desk model. :)
Me not having a desk :(
You guys must have big desks
@@jamescarroll384 it’s my desk at uni, and it’s long enough fyi (I don’t rlly have space)
Such a nice set, its like 4 creator expert sets in 1. I cant even imagine what it would be like to be a fan and have it.
Maz’s castle should have been a Battle pack mini build or a Vader’s castle Mega build. Because the middle ground we got is really week
I’m shocked it wasn’t part of the Resistance Battle Pack, like how a small wall of the Temple on Yavin IV made its way into the 4+ A-wing set. They really should’ve made Maz’s Castle the size of build as Vader’s Castle.
Jang is the new Bob Ross
🔫 Always has been
None of us know who that is, but we liked the comment anyway XD
Weirdly this is so true
So true, I’ve always thought his videos, his voice particularly, have a very calming tone to them
Wow this is so true, the Bob Ross of Lego love it
Fans: We want more landscape builds and structures!
LEGO: Here have another Luke’s land speeder, X-Wing and Tie fighter.😁
@@TheCoolCucumber We only gotten 4 of them over the course of Lego ST's 21 year history...
We haven't gotten an OT tie in 8 years... We haven't gotten an x-wing in 3 years (6 years before that)...
and we haven't gotten and landspeeder in 3 years (7 years before that [6 years before that])...
Get off this stupid bandwagon...
First order/resistance ties basically copy the basic shape of the their OT counterparts, but the colors and figures are very different... When your buying a set, you want the figures you want and the vehicle you want,
@@TheCoolCucumber It amuses me how the OT is what they market towards kids and not whats new. PT era stuff I feel would sell better towards kids. But thats just me
@@timewarpdrive77 um we got a ot tie for solo-
Lego should make a Tanative IV set in the stile of the rathar escape set. Just the inside of the halways, and the escape pod. And a bunch of figures.
rebel friend figure
yeah that be cool
Yesss
That would be great!
I really think Lego should do more dioramas to scale, like the Star Destroyer bridges, or Millennium Falcon interiors. Sure, the sets give you allusions to those locations, but they're cramped into the structure of the ships and lacking in detail. Imagine the Falcon interior similar in scale and detail to the Friends' Central Perk set, complete with corridors to the cockpit, or the Cloud City set broken down to individual locations, expanded upon as full structures that could, as you said, be snapped together.
They could do dioramas to replace the helmet series
Good idea
@@ratbat1072 you're hired
LOVE this idea! Especially the Falcon interior and Cloud City.
I just don't think they would sell very well. Most people wouldn't have any use for a star destroyer bridge that's just on it's own.
I love this type of video! It would be awesome to see this format with other themes like NInjago
I used to watch this channel for hours every day, it's been a long time since I played with any Lego but I am so happy to see this channel is still going strong.
17:37 THANK YOU! I've been thinking this for AGES.
I’d like to see a Palpatines TROS throne room set. Could get some great figs with that, Rey, Ben, Palps reborn and a couple of his guards. I really like the look of the chair.
Honestly I just want them to leave the sequels alone, except for the resistance bomber, please bring that back.
Yeah that would be great
That might be coming actually, one of lego’s international instagram accounts leaked a potential redeemed Ben Solo figure
@@g.williams2047 thankfully I actually own it but I agree that this is a good set. Sadly though I don’t think this has as much demand unlike the Saturn V or ship in a bottle sets did.
I’m sure it would be $150 🤣
It's unfortunate that we dont see more location based sets for the prequel trilogy and the sequel trilogy, but I think that ultimately comes down to popularity. Lego will keep making OT ships over anything else because that's what sells in stores.
Also Lego have just done a large chunk of what needed to be made from the sequel trilogy. I highly doubt we will see lots of stuff from said trilogy in the next couple of years at least. I think Lego will offer more prequel and original trilogy sets. I really think we need Jabbas palace or Endor stuff.
“We got palpatine uhhh I mean snoke’s throne room.” I swear bro Jang is a absolute legend 😂
Looking back at the Force Awakens sets reminds me of a simpler time. A time when we had hope, a time when we were blissfully ignorant of what was to come
We need a battle of Exegol set with TROS palpatine
You have 200,000 suporters ready with 1,000,00o well on the way
Is that a destiny hoodie?!
Looks like it. Jang plays Destiny and Halo
@@joevictor53 ah man my childhood was halo and then I got into destiny and destiny 2!
Yeah, he has reviewed Mega Bloks Destiny stuff.
My favourite part of Lego SW. I own all of this and they are awesome sets.
I love the sequel trilogy :)
Get out of here bob iger.
Controversial to some people for some reason but the last Jedi is probably in my top 3 favourite Star Wars movies
@@siobibble9078 I personally think that movie took itself a bit too seriously for what it was. I think what made the 70s/80s movies great was that they were sorta dumb.
@@siobibble9078 omg TLJ is in my top 3 too ❤️
@@624Eduardo why are you the way that you are?
I remember finding that maz castle set a few months after it came out at my Walmart for 75% off! Since it was only $15 I grabbed it for the figures, and obviously the bacon flag ;)
I love the sequels
really like how positive this guy is
Hey jang i used to watch you years ago but stopped when i stopped doing lego, its really cool to finally see what you look like!
It's times like this where I'm reminded of the irony in the LEGO City theme. Despite it being about a city, you don't actually get many structures to build a city.
Unless of course your ideal city is made entirely of police stations and burning buildings.
I miss your RC videos Jang!!!!
Love the Destiny hoodie! Also these videos are very entertaining! Thank you
Honestly these are my favorite builds
Hopefully this can happen with original trilogy sets say 2015 and on. Keep up the great work Jang
I would really like if LEGO started making UCS sets for the Prequels and Sequels.
Yeah ucs resistance cruiser from last jedi or starkiller base
They don't do them because few people would be willing to pay hundreds of dollars for ships they barely recognize.
More SW location sets from the PT and Ep9 would be what I'd like to see
A UCS Kamino would be GREAT! Id buy that in a heartbeat
8:04
Thats funny. This morning I was MAKIN BACON PANCAKES.
There was actually an impressive amount of structures and play sets to come out of the sequel trilogy waves. I wish we’d see more of that for the prequels and OT!
It’s because of the recent sequel trilogy sets overall that are in part the reason we haven’t had as many original and prequel trilogy sets nothing against them myself but I’m sure that now we are on the other side of the sequel trilogy we will see more from the rest of the trilogy as we have had most of what could be made from the sequel trilogy already.
Love these look backs. Great assessment.
Love this retrospective series, can't wait for the next video! Hope it's going to be Kylo Rens Shuttle comparison with your custom one, if you still have it built.
I would KILL to have an UCS Mos Eisley-style set for the Exegol Sith temple
more buildings in general from lego would be amazing
We definitely need more sets from episode 6
im still waiting for Obi Wan's bathroom to conect to his hutt
0:00 just simply hearing him say hello makes me happy
I love the sequels
But I also think ALL STAR WARS IS GOOD great video
Loving these overview videos! What I don’t love is the lack of scenery for Rise of Skywalker. Also, Bacon Pancakes? I thought this was a Star Wars video, not an Adventure Time one!
Can't believe it's three years ago when I got the battle of Takodana set :*(
I bought the max kanatas castle last week and I’m very happy with it but I wish it has more interior
I love you are using your Bungie hoodies
The « brand new Lego City concept » part was hilarious. 😂
And not that far off. The 2020 Cantina and Obi-Wan’s hut sets practically beg to be put together to create a mini Mos Eisley... If one has the space and money, that is!
Actually, that shop stall from episode 7 would integrate fairly well in a Tatooine city environment.
Many SW Lego locations that are very City-like haven’t been made come to think of it.
Dex’s Diner (restaurant), Jedi Temple archives (library), Mos Espa open market (self explanatory), Watto’s shop (garage and junkyard), the Outlander Club (posh bar and gambling den).
Other locations that are less City-style but still interesting haven’t been done in ages(Chancellor Palpatine’s office, Jabba’s Palace, Ewok village)or never attempted AFAIK (Lars Homestead)
Reading this list I just realised that most of these are from the Prequel era.
Many Original Trilogy locations apart from Tatooine are located on ships and vehicles (Sand Crawler, Death Stars, Imperial Star destroyers, Tantive IV, Home One, Cloud City) or military bases (Yavin IV, Echo Base, Endor bunker, Eadu and Scarif research facilities).
Civilian locations typically show little real life detail. Jedha and Cloud City are remarkably devoid of shops for example. The last Cloud City set made was large and had nicely recreated scenes, but it was mostly just an impractical backdrop with little play value in the end.
I’m not attacking the designers of this set, they did well, they just didn’t have enough to work with and had to remain within a set budget.
Which is probably why Lego released so many vignette sets, rather than buildings, apart from Tatooine of course.
"but open around the back" - isn't the whole thing now with Lego is to be building what are basically dollhouses, which are open in the back so that the player can create vignettes and such? I can see that closed makes more sense for someone making a city or large display, but I think there is value in being able to see what's going on inside. With the new Harry Potter sets, for example, the outsides are fine, but the insides are so much more interesting, I wouldn't want to cover them up.
we really need more AotC sets
I totally agree more structure sets would be great.
The Sets were pretty cool in my opinion.
LOVE the Destiny hoodie! This warlock approves
"We got Palpatine’s I MEAN snokes throne room”
I’m laughing on the floor right now
9:45 The thing I liked about Luke's hut is that is was a great companion piece to Yoda's hut and indeed, I bought them together. Everything about them is contrasting. The colors, the environment, Luke's cynicism vs. Yoda's optimism, the small buildable Porg vs. the one piece standard snake... Well okay, maybe that last part is a stretch.
Cool hoodie Jang!
I was lucky in that I found the Takodana Battle set in January of 2018 for less than $40 at my local Target. The figure selection was good, so I got it then for the reduced price, and I think it was one of my best LEGO purchases to date
They definitely fell way short with the structures. Instead they’d make an entire Death Star and charge hundreds of dollars for it. I feel like the 4, 5 and 6 films got more structures than this series.
That is because the 4,5, and 6 movies had almost 15 years longer to get sets made
@@thebrockster8783 and even then since the release of the sequel era sets we have still had a fair amount of non sequel location based builds alongside ships from all of the saga.
I liked Maz Kanada's castle was a good set when I got it, but it was part of a large auction lot, and not by itself. I mostly used it as the Emperor's palace.
I hope we get an exegol throne room
Won’t anytime soon since they just released that final duel throne room
yeah
I love watching lego because i could not afford legos
Lego is the singular and plural
Rip the dream
I relate 😞
Rise of skywalker needs a location set or two
totally agree, wheres the MODERATLY priced KAMINO stuff!!! As much as i want kamino stuff Lego would probably screw it up with the price. But maybe for 20th anniversary of Atack of the Clones??? Hopefully.
hey jang, linking the review for all these sets in the description or comments helps :D
This is a great video idea
Nice, I would love a SW factory set on a 16x16 plate at least....
I honestly wish we got another kit on Crait with a lot more structure because boy howdy have I been heavily tempted to just build up around those little structures
I’d love to see an Episode 2 Geonosis Droid factory set. It just seems perfect for a ton of fun features and cool minifigs but that’s incredibly unlikely since its not a vehicle and its from the least popular prequel.
I don’t think it’s out of the question. After all isn’t the next Star Wars ucs set from said film so with the skywalker saga video game releasing next year I think it’s likely we could see something from that film beyond the clone gunship.
I feel the same way, I wish there was more structures in Star Wars sets in general and doesn’t have us moc-builders have to do all the work.😅 I think a retrospective on the rebels theme and other Star Wars waves of sets would be interesting.
I would love to see a bigger crate defense with a nice trench
I know I’m probably alone here, but I really wish they made at least one Canto Bight set
A Death Star Ruins set from TROS would be pretty cool, but Disney has kind of given up on most Sequel Trilogy products, so we’ll just have to see...
I love to see Coruscant in a micro City build. Or a ucs sith temple.
i have lukes hut and kylo -rey snow duel. Love them.
Imagine they made a Luke’s island with all the figures like ghost Yoda and topless kylo- about the size of the minecraft mountain set😁😁 and not forgetting the milk whale thing
Honestly, the Scarif platform build was best location build to me- exept for its price :n
I like mega construx
I would like to see sets for
Geonosis factory
Kamino
Kijimi
The duel in Kylo’s white room
Death star ruins
The Lego is nice, but that destiny hoodie? Mint
I've always been shocked that Lego hasn't done at least one wave of sets that all included modular builds that could be put together to make a small Death Star build. I thought they would try that after that set with the gunner and Obi Wan, but no dice. They could have the wave include a gun as a small set, the Vader-Obi Wan dual as a medium set, and a scaled down canon as a large set, and release some vehicles with trench exteriors you could attach to round out the outside. Maybe even throw in the trash-compactor or something. The only potential problem is that it would need to be a wave focussed almost entirely on one movie, which Lego hasn't done for a while.
We should get a Xyston Star Destroyer from LEGO. They should add more sith troopers in it
MORE PREQUEL LOVE
It says something that I had completely forgotten that the Han's Freighter scene/location from the film. The memorable locations for me were the planet Rei started out on, the death-planet thing, the throne room and the red/white planet. Those were all really neat locations. I also remember the casino place but that is not for good reasons. In terms of lego sets I like Luke's hut but that's about it.
So Jakku, Starkiller base, The Supremacy and Crait.
I would love to see kamino structure set or petranaki(geonosis) arena.
Palpatines (cough) i mean snokes.... 😂
Hey Jang, are you ready for Beyond Light?
Ready as I can be. Inventories & postmasters filled with unopened prime & legendary engrams plus a few exotics, dozens of completed Vanguard & Banshee bounties waiting to be redeemed, vault 2/3rds empty. Let's go!
@@JANGBRiCKS Have fun! I had to pull out of my clan day 1 raid attempt for the new raid because of school exams the very next day, and because of the 5am raid start time in Australia. I hope you enjoy the new DLC and what it has to offer, for I am no longer playing the game since all my friends stopped playing
I always liked lego buildings. The vehicles are nice but I want more buildings.
Figures aren’t supposed to stand in the lower part of the Rathtar set. Rey and Finn are crawling in that part in the movie.
Thanks Jang. Great constructive structure review. I’m sure most of these sets will get bigger renditions in the years to come.(UCS) 🤠
My feelings on landscape/structure sets:
- They tend to be too small to properly capture the source material.
- For this reason, I prefer to just build my own landscapes and structures.
- However, the sets are small because of the desire to make them affordable, which I am in favour of. I remember being a child and my parents refusing to get me sets over £30.
JANGBRiCKS: 5 years it took me.
Me: i've only got one of those sets :(
Luke's hut could have easily had another side added on a hinge so it could open, still allowing for interior access. Would definitely have added to the part count and cost, however.
I just bought the Last Jedi set because of this video 😅
I found the rathtar escape set on a website of a store, with 50% off and 3 years after the release. And I didn't buy it, I have regretted that ever since. Probably my number 3 on the regrets of sets I had the chance to buy but skipped it, the first 2 are the UCS ewok village and the cloud city.
It looks like a medieval village when all together.
I’d really like to see a comparison between the 3 TIE fighters of the sequel era (unless you want to count Major Vonreg’s TIE fighter and the Black Ace TIE interceptor).
His voice , it’s like he’s Bob Ross but for lego Videos
All I want is that Bespin duel scene without having to buy from scalpers on eBay
👍I have one of those
I always wanted the Crait defense
