  • In 1972, the Santa Fe suffered a derailment in or near Duncanville, TX. Damaged locomotives were rerailed using a large derrick crane. ATSF work train was set out at this location to work the derailment.

I photographed some of that wreck while the Cab unit was still on its side. It was hauled to Cleburne and entered their CF-7 program there and emerged as a new CF-7!

Hope you have footage of the Missouri Kansas Texas railroad steam engines from the 1940s till the end of steam in the 1950s

Thanks for watching and your comment. I would cherish 8mm movies of Katy steam, but the Katy retired steam early on while the FW&D kept steam engines in service in the Fort Worth area up to the mid 1950's.

Is this when a train ran into the back of another train? It demolished a caboose.

Thanks for watching and your questions. Unfortunately, I don't have any record of the circumstances on this derailment. And if we were told, I don't remember. What is astounding to me is the unrestricted access to the locomotives and ATSF MoW cars. No one else was around.
