THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS. I’m 35 years old and embarrassingly have been looking for this audio for over a decade. Fondest memory listening to this when I was only 4! Incredible! How do you have this?!?🎉
Haha, this is the audio book edition I had as a child! So pleased to have sourced it on here as my 6 year son has just discovered Roald Dahl and i just adored this dramatisation of the story😀
Thank you so much. After I lost my vision, this was one of the original audio book on tape that my parents acquired for me when I was 10 or 11. A classic of a radio drama. Amazing catchy music, and amazing voice acting all round. Never fails to entertain. xxx
Heya, I also had this on cassete tape at aged 10 to 12. I used to listen to it all the time.. Just hearing that 'intro music brings back big nostalga points for me
Forgot how much fun this was or how many times I listened to it way back when. I think the lad who played George was probably their best child actor, and Stephen Pacey is as awesome as always. Like the BFG, this was also one with truly fantastic music.
Finding this made my day! You don’t by any chance have Richard Pascoe reading The Minpins? I’ve been after it for years and can’t find it anywhere! Thanks so much for the content.
Glad you enjoyed it! I don't have the minpins recording. I think i have seen it for sale in the past, but I have so many tapes that still need archiving I don't have room for any more at the moment!
A very nice adaptation! My only complaint is the music, while it's very nice and catchy it frequently interferes with key scenes. But other than that, good voice acting and very faithful to the book. Steven Pacey was also Mr. Kranky in the Puffin dramatisation.
I don’t suppose you have “The Giraffe and the Pelly and Me”? Been wanting to show my son for the longest time and can’t find it anywhere, this channel is our best shot!

This is a great narration of a good story. Had it on tape years ago and here we are with RUclips having the goods again. Thanks..
Same here, had this over 30 years ago on cassette I think. Just read the book to my own kids for the first time, then went searching for this
Amazing, used to listen to this all the time in the late 80s! Best production of them all

Ahhhhhhhhh you total legend. This is the one 👍🏻
Thankyou, I'm going through RD's books as an adult and for the first time since the eighties. Showing my age ;) This is fantastic x

Love the different voices, so much better then some dull person who only read the words and doesn’t put any spirit or spunk into it! Great job ❤
I had this for cassette years ago
Omg I've been looking for this for years !!!!! Thankyou so much x
Glad you have found it now :)
I used to borrow my mates cassette tape of this back in the day. Thank you so much for the upload!
The version I had as a kid was read by Richard Griffiths (Vernon Dursley) - A real treat!
Fond memory's of this, DL'ing for my 3 year old daughter, thank you so much for taking the time and sharing

I agree on the music, it didn't need to come in much more than at the beginning and the end. But really enjoyable all the same.
Hi, as ever good recording. Have you come across the rainbow 🌈 version? Is this the same or similar?
I believe this is actually the same as the Rainbow version. Georges Marvellous Medicine and BFG were also Rainbow recordings originally.

I don't have it...yet!
@@TheMonkeyGrinder ohh okay! Sounds promising 😂 fingers crossed.🤞
I think I have it, but have to check to make sure. Have no idea though how to upload it at the mo, haven't got a laptop or computer.
Any chance of you uploading "Charlie And The Great Glass Elevator" please?
I think it's a real shame that this story isn't a film yet; I think it should be. Does anyone know who voices George in this audiobook?
Ben Fairman.
Is Grandma Liz Smith or Beryl Reid?
On this recording Grandma is credited as the actress Patricia Hayes www.rottentomatoes.com/celebrity/patricia_hayes
Yo I love this. So good but my grandma is better than that grandma lol 🤣
That's good to hear 🙂
