      The 2015 revision is markedly more silent than the first version from 2013. A better cooling solution and slighly lower power usage due to better memory modules makes it surprisingly "quiet" compared the older one. So happy I bought mine recently :P

      It's the cpu thermal paste on most ps4's that needs re-applying. I took mine apart reapplied the thermal paste with some arctic silver paste, and it's went from full speed fan constantly even at idle, to quiet as a mouse with some good thermal paste. I guarantee if I do this once a year my ps4 could go forever, well, until something else gives. :P

    • @honkingclown
      @honkingclown 8 лет назад +3

      There is a ps4 cooler you can buy that is supposed to be fantastic. Not the shitty one that sticks into the back that's worse than having nothing. But the one that sits underneath a standing up ps4. There is also a controller docking station on it too. Amazon do them very cheap.

    • @honkingclown

      Too late i already sold it since it bored me anyway, i played my PC more. I owned an xbox one longer than i did the ps4 & i NEVER had to buy a 3rd party cooler & yet the thing ran silent.

    • @theindiediary5950
      @theindiediary5950 8 лет назад

      ***** Yes, that's because the ps4 has over-heating issues and the xbox doesn't. I thought we already knew th...anyway enjoy pc. My pc is my main gaming platform. Recently upgraded my older rig with a nice new 970 and an i7-6700k. :)
      Ya never know though, you might grab a ps4 pro eventually. Some incredible games coming out on ps4 this year still, and next year. Sadly since xbox decided to put 95% of their exclusives on pc as well now. My xbox one hasn't been plugged in for nearly 6 months now. I don't like Halo and so have no reason to play it for anything yet. :(

    I have same temperature reader. My Xbox1 s after 12 hours of being on and played is 84.5 Fahrenheit at the Fan and about 74 Fahrenheit abound console. Does not get hot at all. just cool air all around. Fan is quiet. Console has stand attached so is standing vertical. Xbox 1s so far is living up yo its expectations. I love it. Anyone thinking of buying one at least get yourself either the 2tb model or get an external HD. You'll need the space eventually and will appreciate it

    amazing all the crap the orig xbox one gets for its size yet it is clearly the quietest console which when sitting on a shelf i could care less about the size yet the noise could for some be of annoyance as the ps4 is no doubt louder device. I'll take bigger size and superior cooling any day over smaller form but hotter and louder.

      My suggestion for a vid is to put new paste in the black XB1 in this vid and test it again to see if there's any difference and anther vid would be of the PS4 slim original paste and new paste with a teardown and so on.

    Haven't seen the rest of the video yet (only watched the idle temp test so far), but i think this test is already flawed. When measuring the ps4 and XB1s temp, the reader was around the same distance away. When measuring the XB1 the reader was practically right on top of the console. Would have been a fairer test if you measured the temp form the exact same distance from the exhaust for all 3 consoles.

    • @Tronicsfix
      @Tronicsfix  8 лет назад

      Doesn't matter where the reader is. It's an infrared temp reader.

    I wonder what type of microphone comes with that sound meter? When you got quiet, I heard a lot of background noise. Wonder if that factors in at all?

    • @williamreid6255
      @williamreid6255 Год назад

      I always thought that some mics just amplify quiet noises and automatically lower their sensitivity whenever something loud like sum1 talking comes in so it doesn’t clip the audio but idk 🤷‍♂️

    It seems that you did fail to mention about the dB on the Xbox one as the advantage compared to the Xbox one s & ps4 due to having a powerbrick which has its own cooling whilst the other 2 shares 1 fan to cool both the cpu, gpu and psu

    Here is some contructive criticism for your videos.
    *1.* Please don't have such a long intro, keep it short and sweet, 15 seconds to the max.
    *2.* If you are doing a giveaway, then please announce the winner at the end of the video.
    *3.* Please cut out the parts where you start to talk too much. The magic of editting is a beautiful thing. Instead of showing charts, you can put text on the video using the editor.
    *4.* Get straight to the point. This is something a lot of youtubers don't seem to get it in their heads. When they make a video on a universal topic that people outside of their channels WILL come to see.
    These people forget that not everyone is their follower and likes their hear them talk. No. New people who come to your channel don't want to see you talk a lot. (sorry if i sounded rude)
    They want you to make a clean video, getting straight to the point, showing what they came here for. Your title explains what you made in this video THATS what the people wanna see. If you would have just made this video shorter to 5-10 mins long, then people would have been impressed. Maybe even subscribed to you.
    If you are going to make a video then please work hard at it. Your channel will grow very well.

    • @Tronicsfix
      @Tronicsfix  8 лет назад

      Thanks! I agree with your points for the most part. I was hoping that you would have some great examples of yourself in a video. There are a few clarifications that I should note:
      2. I wanted to give plenty of time for my watchers to comment and enter the giveaway. I didn't put it at the end because it was very clear that many people didn't even watch the beginning. I decided to put the winner in the next video. I'm always looking at new/better ways of doing things though so thanks for the input.
      3. Who decides what is too much talking? It's hard to know the balance between explaining things well and talking too much. This video had lots of stuff edited out, but that's just something that I'll get better at gauging the more I do them.
      4. I don't forget that many people that watch are not my subscribers...I actually don't like to hear myself talk. I want to talk enough to get the point across then move on.
      It may have been possible to do this type of video in 5-10 minutes but it would have been very tough. I like the shorter vids as well, and for a most of this type of thing that's the optimal length, but I'm just not sure how I could have made this one that short. As it is, I've gotten lots of new subscribers...not saying that I don't want more but there are a good amount of people that liked the vid. As I said before I'm always looking at improving and I agree with a lot of your points. Please keep in mind that I work VERY hard on my channel...insinuating that I don't is not appropriate.
      Thanks so much for your constructive criticism.

      +TronicsFix You can check out my videos. My channel is Murk Ambiguity. But I mostly am focused on Music videos. So thats why I didn't give many examples.
      I didn't mean to say that you don't work hard on your videos.
      I work on videos myself for small companies, and I can say that making videos is not easy at all. My only message to you was to work a little bit harder than you do, and you will find it extremely rewarding when you finish with those little details.
      As for judging the talking too much parts. I would say that you could prepare a script before talking in a video, therefore you only talk in context. Or if thats too much, just try to using mostly relevant informtion, and avoiding too many details, as the average viewer is not interested in knowing everything.
      For example this video. You could have gone straight to the point, even skipped the intro, and just showed us a footage of how the consoles sound as they are in games and without games.
      Then after that, showed us the temperatures of them one after the other. Thats all the audience wanted, and this could have been covered in a short little video in about 6-7 mins or even less.
      If you would have done this, this video would have gotten a lot of views, maybe 500,000+ and I would have even shared it with my friends. But I am unable to do that because nobody has the time to sit through a 38 minutes video covering a topic that not everyone is interested going into the details with.
      Have a good day sir!

      +TronicsFix excuse my typo on my previous comment. I meant "I didn't give any examples of my videos"

    • @SurrealMVs
      @SurrealMVs 8 лет назад

      +TronicsFix And drawing a temperature chart is even easier , then you can simply make a chart of the 3 consoles. Then nicely put that on the video, that saves video time. And you could have done the temperature tests off camera that way.

    • @SurrealMVs
      @SurrealMVs 8 лет назад

      Another nice way is to buy a mid range microphone and talk behind the camera. That way you can prepare a well worded script and read it as you speak.
      That way you can get to your points very quickly, and even save the awkwardness of looking at a script while talking on camera.

    Xbox one is so quiet due to it being a big console with a decent cooling system and it’s power block really helps it keep quiet, your notice both the Xbox one s and ps4 are louder, but both have the straight lead no power block. So big factor it does help cooling and noise massively, is also good for the health of the console in long term how long it will last power block will help it being officiant and consistent. Being officiant and consistent is what will keep noise and heat down!

  • @Gshekela
    @Gshekela 8 лет назад

    I will give you a good advice for correct noise. try to measure noise while playing when you stop playing consoles are using less power and making less noise. I do hear ps4 sound while I play game when TV sound is low. my original Xbox one does run much quieter! but more than 36 db
