      The real danger is represented by other people and the chaos caused by the cataclysmic event (the dead waking to kill the living) --> hunger, lack of medicine, lack of living conditions such as sanitation and warmth, etc

      Well you only have to survive the first week or so in this case, these wack "zombies" would die off, as they're infected humans and not the undead/living dead like in Romero's and Walking Dead zombies. The bodies of these infected would succumb to their mortality like dehydration, starvation etc. I'd much rather prefer this scenario than Walking Dead/Romero's, where mortality isn't a hindrance.

Also, before the group made there final dock when they reached the island, they should have circled the island to scope things out before getting close to shore. the kink in your plan is you need to operate various locks and lifts to get to the ocean from the great lakes, those systems wouldn't be operational anymore. you would have to portage for at least some distance, unless you feel going over niagra falls is a viable option.
    you would have easy access to less inhabited regions of the upper michigan peninsula and the northern great lakes coast line as well as a variety of islands. if you can figure out a low risk coastal raiding strategy, and find a safe harbor for storm season, floating around the great lakes isn't a terrible plan.

      @Zachomara 4 года назад +1

      In Resident Evil, the problem is that the T-virus infects literally everything (not very scientifically sound, but it's a movie) and is airborne. This causes Umbrella to stupidly send in people who are not trained or wearing PPE in and die, eventually letting the infection out as a direct outcome of their actions.
      The second Umbrella containment team in the movies wouldn't have had to deal with the lickers if they hadn't shot the containment cell.
      I know about the infections in the mansion in the games in the forest beforehand, but I'm going just off the movies. The forest would be easier to contain than the city anyway.

Not everyone you meet has your best interests at heart. I know this would leave me without backup, but I can't risk stupidity. If anything I would silently observe a person or group for a few days before deciding on trusting them. I would get far away from any big cities asap. Small towns are the best, less people and more land. Move only during the day, and wear camo. (Not sure if some zombies operate on their sight, but it seems like they might.) Wouldn't travel without a backpack and a melee weapon. Guns are a last resort or distraction. Definitely make sure to find maps and make sure not to get lost.

    Fun fact: Zack wanted to film a handful of "outbreak stories" to air on regular TV as promotional material, alongside the premiere of the movie. The Outbreak stories would tell tales of people waking up to the apocalypse and follow their attempts to survive. Most of these would've been focussed around the survivors we know in the movie, but there were a couple of randoms that were tied in to certains scenes in the movie. Unfortunately, Universal didn't like the pricy idea and Zack was left with just storyboards.
    Back to the speeding car. The van belonged to a pair of electricians, they were about to go to work when they were attacked by the undead, narrowly surviving the encounter, they got in the van and began driving. Unfortunately the passenger was bit in the neck, quickly turned and attacked the driver. The driver died with his foot on the gas, with his former friend eating his face clean. The resulting collision is what you see in this clip.
    Cool huh?
    Another cut storyboard involved the boat owner, who pushed a fellow survivor into a crowd of zombies in an attempt to escape. It worked, obviously, but it shows how scumbaggy the guy is lol.
    And the other one I can vaguely remember, is of a woman who woke up to frantic screaming outside her apartment. As she opens the door she sees a crowd of them devouring her neighbour. She quickly closes the door but they notice her and start breaking in. Don't know how that one ended exactly (but you can take a guess)

      So to be honest, I wouldn't even be surprised if these Camera Men would survive the way they do in Movies.

      If you have the will power to watch and film people being devoured alive then you're good as the camera man.. It's not like something people would see in everyday of real life. But it would guarantee you scarred for life after seeing shit like that if it weren't to actually happen. Remember. These are all just films, and if you can be a camera man in a real zombie apocalypse, you may just never know how much you could take to see in real life gore unless you got the willpower, or have some ultra boner for gore

    they where in a mall in Milwaukee, they just had to wait for winter. Zombies or not, they're still made up of mostly water.
    They also could've tied some strong fishing line to a drone or rc aircraft and flown it over to the gun store roof. Then had the owner reel it in after securing their end to a length of nylon cord. After that they could ferry stuff back and forth as needed.

      You'd be better off using those objects to barricade the glass doors. It takes a lot of energy to move those objects to the roof and throw them off; it's better to use the energy to fortify than to potentially kill a small portion of the horde.
