    The thing that bothered me the most about the movie was the zombies avoiding the sick but at the same time happily throwing themselves off skyscrapers, why didn't they just trample the sick instead of parting like the red sea to Mosses?

    • @keiichi8191
      @keiichi8191 4 года назад +371

      Or why do they even care about a sick host? Their hosts can keep going even riddled with dozens of bullet holes and limbs hacked off. Is someone having gonorrhea really going to be a concern for it?

      It is something about the virus not wanting to contract another virus that could destroy its host. No idea about the cancer though. Maybe the virus sees cancer as a spreadable disease too.

      Think of the infected as an infected cell in a body; and the sick person as a separate virus in a body. Its going to avoid that other virus for survival. Those infected weren't thinking, they were looking to spread to other normal "cells" instinctively.

      The book was the same. It showed that humanity would survive as long as they fought for the future. The movie just became a cookie cutter ending with one guy finding the cure. My wife and I watched the movie in the theater, which was a rarity for us- she loved it, and while I thought it was a good zombie movie, I didn’t like that it wasn’t a great representation of the source material- and I think that she only liked it so much because she had not read the book. It really deserves a Contagion style movie, where everything about fighting the virus is dissected and the crucial and interesting details are shown.
    The best part about its depiction of multiple narratives is you get to see the effects outside of one individual, you get to see the doctor treating "Patient Zero" and the first incidents that grabbed the globes attention, to the very end showing how the post zombie war world is very much different.
