Reason 2: We dont have nukes
Reason 3(The Biggest One): Their already infected DNA(Blood, mucus, saliva, etc.) is the real threat.

That scene where Don enters the lab where his infected wife is on a bed restrained with straps ruined the movie for me. Someone that critical and important to fighting the virus would never have been left alone, there would have been guards and doctors and lab technicians. But nooooooo....there was nobody and Don just nonchalantly walked into the room and then foolishly kissed his wife.
Then walks out of a door that requires a key card.
good point
Even if he was guilty and in love, Don was terrified of the infection and risking his kids. He would have been pestering a doctor elsewhere, or standing outside to freaked out to enter. That whole scene was the biggest flaw in the film, it just falls apart on every level
@@azarinevil great observation. I don't think the directors thought out this scene. Or maybe it was from shock. Of not understanding how his wife wasn't mauled to death. And plus he lied to his kids and also left his wife behind. So it could've been a makeup seen. But great observation

I have some familiarity with military protocol for contaminations. The commander in the sequel was a negative checklist for how to handle safety measures in those types of environments. He made four major breaches in protocol and two minor ones that caused the entire collapse of the protected zone.
They never should of let a glorified janitor have access to controlled containment area like that especially after they brought his wife in. Not only is that a major breach of OPSEC it just doesn't make much or if any sense.

I know it's a bit pointless to talk about realism in -zombie- infected movies, but there's the fun thing:
This virus would have immediately contained itself in the lab that it started or soon thereafter.
Increased aggression doesn't immediately mean that you start ignoring all the other hyper-aggressive people around you. They'd have torn each other to bits right then and there.
But there would've been a last man standing to infect others
@@marcgambone4240 not necessarily. The rage virus doesn't make you undead. During the infighting everyone would most likely have gotten extreme wounds. If one of the infected didn't die right then and there, it's unlikely that they could still muster the strength to move a lot and simply drop dead.
Besides the unlikely fact that the idiots would have gotten in in the first place, labs studying viral material also have quite a lot of security measures not the least of which is the simple fact that they have security doors. I don't see one of the infected handling a card reader. 😅
@@Salted_Fysh Security measures work as long as people avoid being stupid

i don't know why anyone blames don for ditching his wife. he did everything he could to protect her and save her from herself. but she wanted to save some little boy that she only met 5 min's ago. when you have kids/family, you have to survive and think about getting back to them, not strangers. Yeah if you can help someone along the way it's ok. the boy had a smart idea of hiding in that closet where he could fit, she pretty much got the boy killed by letting the infected know where he was hiding. don told her many times to leave the boy, that they have to get out, she slapped his hand away to chase the boy, then when she was trapped and surrounded, that's when she pleas for help. what could don do? he had no weapon, he's out numbered. he did the right thing.
Yeah, by her logic, he would've been with her together, being eaten by a horde. And she looked at him with those eyes: "How could you abandon me?"
I think because they were expecting a heppy ending.

The same can't be said for 28 weeks which I do still enjoy watching but there are parts that I despise like the kids breaking quarantine and inadvertently bringing their mother back and Don kissing her that really pissed me off because the kids were the reason Alice was brought back and Don was stupid enough to kiss her and subsequently started the infection again it also didn't help that the military knew she had the virus and knew how contagious it was but HAD NO ONE GUARDING THE ROOM SHE WAS IN.
Also it really annoys me when people say Don was a coward at the start of the movie he tried to save his wife but she wanted to save a kid that they didn't know and brought the infected to the house and lest we forget they know how fast the virus acts so Don did know if he even got a scratch from the infected he aswell as his wife were fucked and he also had their kids to think about.
I literally feel bad for Tim. Man got hit by a car and was in a coma. He thought everything was fine but nope. I felt sad for him seeing everything that was once busy just to be empty. Very scary 💀
- look at the infected run like Forrest Gump
- look at myself in the mirror
"Yep.. I would not survive."
I've always defended the dad for leaving lol, she was the dumb one for trying to help the kid she didn't know
Initially I criticized the husband. It was a knee jerk reaction. Then I thought about after a while, and i faulted the wife for being so stupid. I hate how our society expects men to throw themselves into any and every dangerous situation simply because we're men.
Nothing he could do at that point, brain said leg it, so he did.
Not A Russian Spy At All
so the wife lol, it was his wife the one who helped the kid when the kid was screaming and she tried to help him again when he was hiding in the closet after the infected started to overrun the house
I used to blame him until I realized that it wasn’t her kid so she did this shit

28 days later, really hit way harder then the sequel. From the acting to the cinematic shots to the grittiness to the immersive aspect…really a great horror movie.
U know humanity wouldn't survive a apocalypse people tossing a fit over chicken shortages right now
If this type of zombie apocalypse ever pop up, I'm just going to end myself. The world is doomed at that point and these zombies are way too dangerous to be messing with.
I agree but man think about hope, theres always hope just need to hide and live like an animal to survive and maybe one day we will build another civilisation

@Chaos Undivided man, over a million people died of it globally already, and alarmingly there are already cases reported of secondary covid 19 infections witch too killed people. this virus is as real as they come. your mindset is egoistic and idiotic.

I think we have all learned a valuable lesson from this: Alerting a bunch of hippies should never be your go to response when trying to put a stop to your boss' highly illegal and thoroughly unethical animal trials for the bioweapon you suddenly feel bad about helping create.
Your choice:
A) be a hero, save others & die
B) be a coward, run and survive
Except you're partially incorrect: The first one should be "A) Be a hero, fail to save others & all of you die"
I would choose
C) Try my best to be a hero and save the other, if it does not work, run away
B take it or leave it

14:47 i love you for editing a shot of cat into this in such an appropriate way , red dwarf backwards episode iirc ...
Well made video bro 👏
the saddest thing for me is that every single character in this movie had somebody that loved them or cared about them in some way, and that they all had lives-- jobs to attend, goals to reach, dreams to carry out-- places to go, people to meet, food to try, things to buy-- they all had lives and due to one simple mistake, it was all flushed down the drain.
Same with Train to Busan
Scariest thing is it can happen
Really won't tho
Putin states " Hold my beer" (vodka).
All characters do in every movie.
I love the part when the guy is like oh no poor chimp. Then opens cage and chimp tears his face off. Classic.
Appearances deceive
Most people wouldn’t survive a new virus spreading that fast. Survival of The first wave would revolve around luck and you not getting caught out while infected are rampaging before you could get home. Then it would be how fortified is your apt/house and are you armed? Then how long can you hold out without leaving or can you safely go out and get supplies? Not to mention if you have a family vs living alone. So many factors.

*Fun fact. This scene was taken from the book📙 World War Z by Max Brooks...The Battle of Yonkers. A soldier did this to a group of Zack heads (zombies) that were staggering out of New York after refugees.
The soldier did die like the Badass he was and New York was over run. America had to retreat. They lost the battle of Yonkers. They were facing MILLIONS of ZACK and were completely unprepared.*
There still needs to be a prequel "28 hours later" and the sequel "28 months later".
lol thats brilliant. I'd love to see first 28 hrs of outbreak.
They were talking about making 28 Months Later last year, but I don't think there've been any updates on it since the plague hit.
28 Sequels Later
And 28 minutes later, 28 seconds later, 28 years later, 28 centuries later, and 28 millenia later.
@@Jack_OutsideTheBox This guy gets it !
Never understood why infected don’t attack each other instead of only uninfected.
I'm curious about that too, because they're just rage induced infected unlike other movies's infected where they seek out to really infect uninfected and not just rage machines. I'm assuming this movie follows the same logic
Probably because their instinct is to infect the non-infected individuals only/spread the virus... I mean, why would an infected attack another infected if they're infected in the first place?
Well it would technically be cannibalism on the infected part but funny enough there was either a cartoon or video game that showed this in which the infected ate each other and humans for survival basically they still thought on primitive needs but was also selfish rather than a team or one mind all together.
Im too high to explain. But you guys know what I mean 👍
I guess they are hungry for fresh meat. Not for undead meat.😂😂
28 weeks later is the greatest ‘infected’ film for about 30yrs.. that music is terrifying aswell
28 Days Later: *Rage Virus takes over in 40 seconds*
28 Weeks Later: *Rage Virus takes over in 8 to 10 seconds*
Jeez. The Rage Virus evolved to be very powerful-
It also apparently evolved to make Don into a super tactical zombie with Slenderman stealth powers and self-preservation instincts.
But then 28 Weeks operates on cartoon logic.
Does anyone else notice after she kissed him that she had a weird smile or smirk when he began turning... ive always felt like she blamed him for running ( i dont she made her bed when she didn't listen to him) and when he began turning she had a almost satisfied smirk.. that was until she got terrified when he was about to kill her. I wonder if she knew she would pass it or wasnt suprised... or didnt expect him to attack her. Idk did anyone else notice this?
Keith Baker I knew simps would end the world
The Scarlet Cultist pfft-
I always thought she intentionally infected him as revenge for abandoning her but for some reason didn’t consider that he would immediately attack her after he turned. But I don’t know. It seems really dumb to have infected him purposely when she was literally strapped to a table and stuck in a sealed room with him.
ValorJ Omega that was just stupid and irrelevant, imagine being this type of person lol
ValorJ Omega that’s a yikes from me dawg
Ultimately, surviving the initial outbreak of any of these "zombie virus" outbreaks is luck of location at the time of the outbreak. After that, it's a matter of not getting infected, which can be an issue, of course.
Honestly, preppers are idiots.
...but if shit really DOES hit the fan... I will probably be eating those words.. as well as my fellow man.

@@ladycheyne5607 That has crossed my mind and its terrifying 😂😂
This’s one of the movies that made zombies so legendary post 2000
That intro was such a masterpiece
I think the biggest issue i draw from most zombie/infected movies is how stupid they think the military actually is. The military wont get called in until its time to destroy everything. None of these movies even attempt to take military tactics into consideration they all show the slow 5 man squad walking down a street and thats not even remotely what theyd do. Nor would they set up indefensible base's in the middle of a street. The set up in 28 days later of the few troops who took them in before trying to rape them is closer to what theyd set up but itd be done with a platoon and theyd sweep areas with multiple tightly packed units not 3-5 men walking down a street. Not to mention if it was so bad that they couldnt fight it at ground zero they would pull back to the most defensible positions and let the disease spread to them where they could stop it.
Yes, I mean, a single tank could run down a horde. The biggest impact in the world wouldnt be the zombies itself, would be the collapse of the system because of social unrest provoked by fear, economies going down hill, broken supply chains
Kinda like what we have now ? Lol
Not to mention,as much as I like 28 days later...after the characters know that the zombie's blood and saliva infects people, they are really stupid for not wearing masks or even goggles to cover up their faces when facing zombies.
This is why I like Train to busan,at least the South Koreans had the brains to cover up their arms so that the zombies wouldn't bite their arms/hands.
@@cynicalducky1041 I mean, with current events, it's not like this is unrealistic.

The thing about the 28 movies is that it follows a kind of unregistered unique genre only in british tv and film which is dark and gritty realism, its on the edge of a soap and a reality show but keeps cinematography at the top of its list right under being cool af
It does truly give it a unique theme. It’s grain and contrast make it really noticeable from other horror films, as well as the constant swaying of the camera and sharp sudden movement of characters that leaves the viewers focus out of frame. This film makes me very proud to be British ✊🏼😉🇬🇧

Indeed
The rage virus would burn out very quickly as the human body would break down from exhaustion within a hours
Yes but once out of major cities and depending on weather like new the heat of new Mexico or Texas or the cold of the north the human body can't stay hydrated or warm when you are running at a full sprint all the time. I dont think in the movies it ever shows them drinking or eating just raging and that is what i base it on.
