Have one w460 turbo diesel from 89, very reliable, durable and fun to driven. Have some 4x4s, including LC and Defender from late 90's, the G is the best for off-road though LC is more comfortable for on-road riding, and nothing has the charm as the G does. Seeking W461 turbo diesel from late 90's, but not easy to find one here and the price is crazy (I can get a 2013 rubicon with that price).
I'm a G fan but can you imagine a luxury vehicle with not even a single cup holder in the front LOL! They should place the transmission shiftier into steering like the S-Class
PigPride The passenger side has optional cup holder and I call it a tiny basket can't hold large bottles or even mid size ones. There is two cup holders in the front passenger compartment but those are useless even for Starbucks tall size coffee, you cannot fit them inside it. I own G class SWB and I will keep it although, it is just beautiful even with the stupidity behind it LOL
No one cares about cup holders other than Americans for some strange reason. Maybe gettin stuck on a highway in LA makes u wanting 2 xl drinks available in reach at everytime. We folks in Europe from what Ive seen just wanna drive the thing

For BlueTec in the US to be worth it you would have to have the cars for about 10 years. Thats because it costs more to get BlueTec and Diesel isnt that much less expensive than gasoline
I have an excellent example being delivered tomorrow. I KNOW I’m going to like it, but I’m concerned about all those complex systems. They may work great when the car is new or young, but what about when it gets old? I bet they all start going wrong, eventually, and start costing a lot of money! I expect to hold onto mine as long as possible, but even if the drivetrain and major components survive, I’m afraid all those sophisticated systems will kill it…
