The Guitar Academy is amazing!! I've learnt so much and my playing has become so much more focused. I highly recommend it for anyone who's serious about putting in the work and improving quickly.
@@NubsWithGuns I understand what your saying man, I felt the same way but actually the way its structured is to build a very strong foundation of basic techniques from the very start before creating bad habits regardless of your level. I would actually say its a great place to start for someone. you'll have to start slow and at lower BPMs but that is totally okay!! The other day, i had to lower a tempo down to 30 BPM just so i could get my fingers and picking hand correct. For example if you need to work on Alternate picking, the way Kiko has built his course is so that anyone at any speed can start to put in the ground work to get more control and much faster with an effective and strategic build up over time. If you want to do it. You can do it man!
I started Kiko’s Guitar Hack and 7 Factors during COVID and then transitioned to The Guitar Academy when it came out and these are exactly the courses and the teacher I needed out of my 18 years of playing but never had any structure and feedback.
Hi there Kiko, can't wait to hear the new album! How did you liked Felipe Andreoli performance with Sons Of Apollo, amazing not? As you steping on Marty Friedman and Chris Poland shoes, there's nothing easy at all to step on Billy Sheehan shoes, far from that!
Kiko, Have You (as a band) ever thought about recording a show with symphony orchestra? I would love to watch such show and have it on DVD / BlueRay. I think that this is the only thing I miss soooo much in Megadeth’s discography. Songs like “Symphony of Destruction”, “In my darkest hour”, “A tout le monde” or “Conquer or die” would sound amazing!
Doing what you're doing is so much work, The tour, the promoting, the practice, these videos, Q&As, the Academy....Just kow that we appreciate it SO MUCH! youre an inspiration. So happy youre using your platform to keep us all going. THANK YOU, KIKO!
Kiko keep the good work. I would like someday you speak about the gear you used in the 90s and how the evolution in musical equipment changed you as a professional guitarist. Big hug from Argentina.
Hello Kiko I can’t wait for your future concerts in Italy, with Megadeth (two months ago I’ve seen you in Verona with them) or by yourself. A couple of questions: will you one day do a Blues disk? And also, do you like the research of the “analog” sound? I mean, trying different guitars, pickups, analog effects, tubes and so on, to get a “dynamic” sound? Thank you so much!
Hi Kiko, love the channel (and Megadeth) - quick question - when you are writing and recording solo material is there anyone you always play new stuff for because you really trust their opinion? If so, what kind of feedback are you looking for? Thanks
Regarding the event in Barcelona, i was there on the front row (in front of James, so, the opposite side of the stage where Judas Priest was playing), and i could not hear their guitar tech playing and sound checking. I imagine it's totally different from the stage or another place in the audience (specially close to Priest stage), so it's totally unrespectfull of the band playing and the audience as well. Btw, for those wondering, there was a quick sound check by Megadeth crew, but after the previous band has finished. Great show, hope to see you again soon on stage. Thanks a lot Kiko
Kiko, how do you play those licks that go from 0 to 100, like let's say you just played a melodic phrase and you want to go on a fast descending run, how do you do that right of the bat? My hands stutter a moment before playing the fast part (usually a descending scale of 3 notes per string) additionally, to avoid that stutter I usually do a trill and start the picking on the next string. Also, hyrule is pronounced high-rule (that's from a videogame called the legend of Zelda)
Kiko, essa vai pro Q&A... No solo da música Killing time, você começa com lick muito parecido com um começo de um vídeo antigo de uma música chamada Dream circle, que vc toca com uma tagima preta. Foi daí que tirou a idéia?
@@navaskin Chris Poland is on the system has failed (phenomenal return of Megadeth sound), united abominations and endgame are also worth the money imo.

Hi, Kiko, I hope you OK. Thanks for the Q&A places, it's really nice to have the chance to ask you for some things that are so important for us. I appreciate it. I have a question for you. In your experience ¿What is the best way to improve our speed playing on the guitar? ¿How do you practice this topic when you want to reach it, when you wanna play more fast? Thank you for the answer. 🗣 Megadeth, Megadeth, aguante Megadeth (bis).

Hey Kiko! I was not familiar with your playing but you joined Megadeth and the last few weeks I have been listening to Open Source and Sounds of Innocence a LOT! I really like your playing! I would love for you to discuss how you wrote and recorded Open Source as far as whether it was tracked traditionally... drums first then guitars? Click tracks? How did you piece everything together? Thanks!
Hi, Kiko! I’ve been following you here for a couple of months, so I’m pretty new on this channel. I’d like to start learning to play the electric guitar (I tried some years ago with the bass, but it didn’t end up that well…) and I was wondering if there’s a certain kind of guitar that you’d recommend to beginners, since I am completely clueless about that 😅 Thank you in advance, hope to see you and Megadeth very soon!
That thing with priest sound check, I thought that was just bad on whoever did that. It’s like… bro… Dave had reasons to be upset, “like really, guys? Right now? Lol
Who is the guy drumming through your question and answer session ? Doesn't he know it is disrespectful to practice while a fellow musician is working? Anyways..thank you for your time and congratulations with having found such a wonderful job with Metallica..

Thank you for these behind the scenes and Q & A videos Kiko! So Dave has been talking a lot in interviews for the new album about how refreshing it was working with you and Dirk on writing the new songs and he always goes on about how well you play. How has Dave's influence and being in Megadeth changed you as a musician? Did it stretch you to places you never thought you would go as a songwriter?

When I want to play something like arpeggios or a melody over a chord progression I start by playing the root note of the chords in the rhythmic pattern and then at the one of the next repititions I try picking the notes of the chords in a slower rhythm like quarter notes and repeat that and slowly transition to faster notes or synchopated rhythms in order to get the feeling for the timing of chords. After many repititions I kind of get that feeling and try to noodle around...
You’re very inspiring. Myself, having been a huge Metallica fan for life, found myself drawn to Megadeth solely on your arrival in the line up. I even took up drums and usually play after I noodle around on guitar. I never thought of using drums as a warmup FOR my guitar practice/playing 🤯

Thanks for the advice and comments Kiko. Completely agree on Dave's response to the roadie sound check. ✌️ Keep up the downloads, appreciate your time and effort. 🤘✌️☠️🏴🇦🇺
There was some very good questions this time around great thinking. Standing up compared to sitting down was especially interesting. Kiko doesn’t have a small beer gut so he can’t relate. Most of my guitars feel very good standing up but my Gibson SG feels a little off. Naturally the neck wants to dive down when not held so this doesn’t help. Tough nut to crack with an SG for me and that sucks because it is beautiful.

Kiko, great channel. I always look forward to your videos. As a musician who’s starting to get more into the video editing and content creation side of things, I’m wondering if you edit your own videos or have someone to do them now?
