    2:23 Fun fact: planets with debris floating in orbit around them have ruins, the more debris, the larger the ruins

    Weird, neutron stars have about a 60-70% chance of having a research station for me. Been that way since I got the game back in 2020.

    • @ZanathKariashi
      @ZanathKariashi 4 месяца назад +6

      they do. almost as good as black-holes, but they're REALLY annoying to navigate around depending on your fleet. And especially if you enter in the middle of their beam, you can take significant fleet damage which can hurt your profits quite a bit, especially if the station loot ends up pretty meh.

    • @Endgunner

      @@ZanathKariashi I just jump in on top of the star and then pause immediately while i see if there is a station. Removes the chance of taking heavy damage from the star in exchange for medium to little damage. Also gets you right to where the station tends to spawn.

    Neutron and white dwarf stars have a very high chance to have a research station in close orbit to the star itself. The risk of being beamed to death can be negated by transverse jumping in behind a planet.

    • @winnie8614

    If one has story points to spare, the built-in version of the solar shielding mod allows ships to completely ignore the negative effects of stellar corona (though it doesn't affect the stars' gravitational field), solar flares, and even hyperspace storms.

    10:50 I would like to add here, that those 3 Shepherds also add up to obtained loot, just not as much as Salvage Rigs. So that is double reason why grab those tiny little bee hives on explorations. Also, if things come to that, they can make real nuisance out of themselves for enemy during combat.
    Bonus information: using Active Sensor Burst in close proximity to Gas Giants, Magnetic Fields, Black Holes gives you hyperspace event points (Black Hole can be scanned twice, once from afar for smaller bonus and once from close for much larger bonus - but doing it up close can be very costly...)
    Bonus information 2: you can see which planets have ruins and which won't have them by observing amount of space junk and small satellites orbiting them. The more visible they are, the larger are ruins. However for smallest ruins it is easy to not notice them.

    They are the early game utility GOAT. You can have up to 30 ships in your fleet without penalty, so stack up those little guys to get those sweet salvage and survey bonuses.
