Here's one for you. I can't find the answer ANYWHERE on Google. I've had blank looks from my internet provider. If I go to "REFRESH DNS" on my Firestick, it would (in the past) show my profile and after a second or two, go to my home page or streaming app. BUT since changing ISP and getting broadband, "REFRESH DNS will hang my firestick for DAYS or weeks! The only solution is erase everything and reset iT! And as I pay someone to do that it's costing me 50+ quid a month!!!! Any ideas????
If things are working fine the please do not change your DNS, some people believe that changing the DNS will make the connection work better, but if yours is working find the leave it alone, if it ain't broke then don't try and fix it!
I followed you to the t and mine said connected with problems any idea?Do I also have to have the same DNS on my router settings or should that no matter?
If you already have these dns settings in your router then you do.not need them in your firestick as your router is providing the dns for google to all your devices.
If you are getting buffering you need to ensure that you are getting a speed of at least 5mbps on your internet connection, more than 12mbps if you are using HD, and make sure your router is close to your firestick as the firestick does not receive great wifi if your router is not close, this is one of the few downsides to a firestick.
What to do if u did and its connects but won’t connect to internet? Pretty when I do this it connects with problems (no internet)but when I go to default it works fine

I figured it out for the Firestick .Just not sure if I should change the Dns for the router,it's Verizon's DNS.I stream tv n movies?

Will this work with a vpn on background for other apps like Netflix? I usually use adguard dns on my phone which blocks all ads on apps
It should work with a VPN in the background but if you have a VPN you would be better off using that on its own.
@@cwtek1 vpn doesn't block adverts on apps like showbox, titanium and etc

What are you putting for the IP address and the Gateway and the Prefix Length?
Chris Waite I put the i.p and gateway (the same as u find) under the about section under the network of the firestick

What does this change on the firestick ?
It uses Googles DNS servers to connect to domain names (i.e web addresses) it can help if your ISP's DNS servers are slow or not working properly.

Did all the procedures doesn't do nothing to the the firestick same wifi speed in hardwired it lowers the speed not worth it.
Some people say it helps with speed and blocks but personally I don't think it makes any difference either.
