The Gateway is normally the IP address of your router, if you have a PC go into Command Prompt then type IPConfig, this will give you the Gateway Address
Doesn't work with earlier version firesticks - the number entry box on those sticks only has numbers, no dot or period so you can't enter 192.168 etc. only 192168

cloudfire dns is slower then my regular ip dns. im getting 374 down and 350up mbps on my regular dns. and on cloudfire only 80 down and 60 up mbps. thats slow as Hell. im use wired ethernet for both test.
Whatever DNS you use it should not make any difference to the download or upload speed, the DNS just tells your device the ip address of the server you are trying to connect to.
@@cwtek1 it does in my case because when i change the Dns on my new Amazon fire tv 4k via ethernet wired to 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8 runs like crap. when i put it back to factory amazon fire tv dns runs faster then 1.1.1.1 and faster then 8.8.8.8. unless those dns good for only wifi speed?
When you scroll down to Internal IP: you have one number. When I scroll down to Internal IP: I have a number then a second number. Both start with 192.168. Then they differ. Which one am I supposed to make a note of? Would appreciate some advice.
The problem is the DNS server doesn't stay. You have to enable unknown sources. Then download downloader from app store. Open downloader. Type in www.filelinked.com and download.. Open filelinked type in code 85810914, click continue, click dismiss when popup comes up find Aptoide tv. Download and install Aptoide tv. Open Aptoide tv type in wifi settings dns ip gateway in Aptoide tv look for it on the bottom. It will say may not work but download and install it. Put DNS server in there click end and it will stay. Go to settings, my fire tv, about, network and you will see it saved DNS settings.

There is no option for Port and proxy on the Firestick, I think you would need to do this through a router.

It should work but if your vpn provides DNS settings they will probably override this.

You could contact Award VPN and ask them if they can add an option to use a custom DNS when using their VPN.

Not heard of Amazon needing this before but you should be able to use a public DNS server like Cloudflare which is 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1

If you want to watch movies from the UK you need a VPN, unfortunately Free ones will not be good.

So what's the purpose of changing your DNS on your Firestick? Is that a way to hide me?
It wont hide you but some people have said it made things faster and evaded some basic blocks.

One number is the internal IP and I guess the other is the Gateway, make a note of them both.
