Someone else probably said it here, but the flip side of this performance was Jessie having long-term cardiac (aka heart) related health issues that flared up the week before this. This literally was an ode to her own struggle, and her reaction to fan love bolstering her. You can even hear some shortness of breath here directly tied to her health, but she masterfully incorporates it. And watch the end again. That's literally her hand shaking. Mind (and training) over matter got her through that. This was the most emotionally devastating thing she did on this show, but virtually every performance is near this level. I Have Nothing and Purple Rain are probably the other two to definitely see.
Jessie J is without true rivals or peers. I believe that the vowel purity is what sets her performance apart from all others. There is no strain - no push. Why? Pure vowels. Jessie J, IMO, is the best current female singer on the planet due to her incredible control, tone, phrasing, agility and emotion. She also did an awesome version of Whitney Houston's I Have Nothing on the same season of this Chinese show The Singer (which she won), but I would recommend watching the video someone made of her performance of I Have Nothing at a small club in LA with just an acoustic guitarist accompanying her and some reverb on her vocals....it is absolutely fantastic. I had heard Jessie J's pop songs but this series (the Singer) showed me the true range of her brilliance. It also introduced me to KZ who is unknown in my corner of the world but also a great singer.
I should add that Jessie J is hugely underrated as others have said here. I wouldn't have known how good she was until her spell as one of the judges on The Voice in the UK where her live singing was amazing.

Sad some of these Great singers don’t get the respect they have earned, in the West also until very recently Lara Fabian, in Korea. ,SoHyang and Park Ki Young,Lee Young Hyun,Ailee, Ali. In Philippines, Regine never did get enough respect, but Morrisette on now is slowly building, KZ and a few more, Vanny Vabiola and more possibly from Indonesia and Malaysia’s, Aina Abdul and a couple Chinese Ladies and Gentlemen, that could possible be near the level of the first four or five I mentioned! When you listen to the A cappella portions of this performance at the very end of the song you are truly experiencing the genius of Angelina Jordan’s PERFECT PITCH. Sinatra, rest in peace Angelina Jordan, the Bare Foot Queen has taken the crown and there is nothing like her in the universe. When I first heard her perform this I put it on pause and brought up Sinatra, Bublé, Streisand, Fitzgerald and Vaughan's version of this song to compare it to AJ version, and none of them moved me like this version. This is my 70th time listening to this MASTERPIECE and each time I experience a new level of perfection by our ethereal prodigy extraordinaire, Angelina Jordan.
When you listen to the A cappella portions of this performance at the very end of the song you are truly experiencing the genius of Angelina Jordan’s PERFECT PITCH.
Sinatra, rest in peace Angelina Jordan, the Bare Foot Queen has taken the crown and there is nothing like her in the universe.
When I first heard her perform this I put it on pause and brought up Sinatra, Bublé, Streisand, Fitzgerald and Vaughan's version of this song to compare it to AJ version, and none of them moved me like this version. It is so hard to comprehend that Angelina from 7 to 16 is the greatest story telling being in my 74 years of experiencing great vocalist and I can't wait for the rest of the story.
