Celine Dion is the original of this but every now and then a artist comes along and can really turn a song into their own and jessie did that a phenomenal singer
As others have said: Jessie was born with a nice loud voice but she has trained to improve her voice, to control her vibrato, increase her range, her diction, her runs, breath control and support, her tone has grown to be so lovely with maturity. This lady is a technical singer with style & emotion, stage presence and a great performer. I cannot say enough. There are videos online of her singing as a small child, young girl and as a teenager in musical theatre plays and on stage; yes she could always sing but not like dissss lol

It is a collection of some of the most epic legendary live performances ever assembled by one person, and they should go down in history exactly as that. They were amazing and gave her fans and those of us new to her Jessie J singing on a totally different level. Honestly, if history is honest, she should go down as one of the greatest vocalists of all time. What is so impressive about this performance is that she did not have an opportunity to rehearse because she was flown back home and hospitialized. She returned to the competition against doctors orders and finished the competition as the winner and it was well deserved. Imagine, arriving back in China is just enough time to perform without rehearsal! She was shaking, but more from the weakness of her illness and hospitalization. She had to keep telling herself "Don't pass out" Don't pass out!" She was feeling weak and faint. If you look at the beginning and look at her eyes and body posture, you will see herself fighting against fainting. God has gifted her beyond measure. She outdistanced Celine Dion in this performance and that is incredible. Who would have ever thought someone could outsidng Celine in this epic song but Jessie J did. Thanks again. Thank you for being able to recognize true talent. This song has a brand new meaning because of the heart condition she suffers from. If she hadn’t left the previous week, she would’ve sung it 20 years to the day that it originally came out. It took every fiber f her being not to faint cuz she was close. I feel in this performance, because of the circumstances especially, that she showed how much she REALLY LOVES to sing. She pressed through all the pain and uneasy feelings. She won the actual show btw. She is one of THE best vocalists to grace the earth. Alive or dead. Period. Anyone who says otherwise is allowed to an opinion but is ignorant without putting work in to research her. I’m a singer as well. She puts hella work in to make sure her voice is ALWAYS in tip top shape. She never lip syncs either. It’s always live. She’s just as phenomenal live as she is in the studio. If you’ve ever heard her sing in her early 20s, basically her debut album ‘Who You Are’, she’s 31 now. You can hear that it’s a HUGE difference vocally. Yes she’s always been a vocal beast, but she’s toned the runs down A LOT. Now they’re strategically placed and very tasteful. And her vibrato has come down to a very tasteful speed. Still fast but it’s beautiful. As before it’d be super fast and wild; many times so fast that her pitch would fluctuate sharp. She’s improved so much and as a heartbeat, I’m so proud of her for that. I’ve only been one for about 1.5 years, but I’ve dont my research. She is an honorary black woman and she’s baaaaaaad to da bone! Ok rant over. 😂❤️ Love the reactions! Keep em comin!

Did you know Jessie was on a verge of fainting during this performance? She pulled through because she already missed the episode before and if she missed this one she’d be out of the show. It’s all because she was ill with her heart disease. She’s amazing ❤️
ThatSingerReactions yes, she mentioned it in the intro. she missed her performance the week prior to this due to flying home to be evaluated by her physician. i believe they weren't keen on her flying back and performing, but jessie didn't wanna let her "heartbeats" (fans) down. she has wolff-parkinson-white syndrome, a condition she was born with that will cause periods of cardiac electrical conductivity craziness, which leads to a rapid & irregular heart rhythm/rate, which could be fatal, tbh. she's so brave for choosing this song, & singing it with all her being...it's why she showed she was shaky at the end: heart stuff acting up.

They have great covers of Havana, Come Along, Shallow, New Rules, and Sound of Silence. You might also enjoy their cover of Gold. It's an older one before Avi left the group. But it's a great example of what they can do for curly at the original needed mixers to do.
Her and sohyang are really holding up the soprano ballad singers. I'm not as much of a fan of her own work, when she does pop or r&b. Ballads are where she shines.
Quite simply, together with the great Streisand, there's no female vocalist who can touch the great Jessie J. Her tone and lyrical timing are unequalled by any of her so-called peers. She mops the floor with them but doesn't receive the recognition she deserves which is incredibly unfair.
