- Shop cats are hard to find in Vancouver stores but their human co-workers say they make for a more pleasant workplace, and their role is evolving. As Liam Britten tells us, some shop felines have become equal part mouser and mascot.
I had a bookshop in Ohio wherein shelter cats were fostered and then adopted by customers. More than 50 were adopted from my shop over the years. I then wrote a series of novels about the experience (Shelve Under C is the first) to encourage other shops to look into fostering dogs, cats, rabbits, etc. The business that took over my location continued to foster, thankfully.

yah, that was a foodie place, so "food rules" apply. But you have restaurents like the one in Stanley Park that are over run with mice, because it right in ........the PARK. Where mice live free. and mulitiply like ......meeces.

Not a shop cat - but a nice little kitty has moved into my now rodent free veggie garden, Thankfully the birds still visit and she leaves them alone and she has not pooped once in my garden Feed her amply to keep her around yet still keep the rodents out.
I go to Gazebo's in Fresno just to see Shadow the lovely kitty. Who hangs out in the nursery part, hiding by plants. They have great coffee too.❤
They need to upgrade the health regulations, especially in Vancouver. Rodents near food are no joke. You can't just go putting poison all over and having dead rodents that shed dangerous insects. The people doing frivolous complaints should be charged with criminal mischief for abusing law enforcement.

I love shop cats. ❤️❤️I finally got to meet the one at my corner store a few months ago. I don’t see her often tho. She’s very allusive and tends to hang out in the stock room according to the shop owner.

There's a pub near me that has loads of cats. I like to go there with a book and chill out at the bar every time I need my fuzzy friend fix.
