I am proud to call this guy my friend ... we grew up together and went to see Phantom for the first time in Toronto in Grade 7!! .. Thanks for coming home bro .. i t was great to hang with you and your family, Steve, Hadley and some of our classmates from way back when after the show!
I may usually agree, but this song is meant to be a prayer, so it is really sung from the singer to God... I think the eyes being closed demonstrates this intimacy.
It shows that he's a fantastic performer. He grabs the song at it's roots and just grows with it, and makes it his own. It's stunning!
I think this song really brings out a different side of Ramin's voice we don't hear that often! He sounds totally different, very beautiful! :)
I don't usually cry during this song, but for some reason, this particular version really got to me. I adore him.

He has the voice of an angel...When he sing...he put his self in the character... he brings his soul with him while he sing that's why people easily to fell in love with him, I guess
Thanks so much for posting this. Breathtaking song and performance. I found out a day too late that I had actually won VIP tix for this show. Gutted! Still had an awesome time in my seat right behind the barricade, though :) Lovely to meet both Ramin & Hadley, and I can't wait for the show in Chicago. They're seriously the nicest people. Love 'em both!
I don't care if he closes his eyes the entire time. I don't need to feel his feelings through his eyes. You can hear about much he loves and respects the song with his voice. And another factor, he is dressed pretty casually, so I imagine the crowd is dressed casual, he may want to sing the song to himself like he's on stage at the Royal Albert Hall. This man could look like the actual Phantom or (prison) Jean Valjean and I would adore him.

He actually toured in a production as Valjean this year but I found out he was in my area just a few days too late. All the tickets were probably sold weeks if not months beforehand anyway. I just wanted to cry!! I'm normally up on what's going on in the opera/musical world too. :((. That was an epic failure for me. I love Ramin plus I've never personally seen Les Mis live. It is one of my ftop favorite musicals though!

Even though i like ramin, i dont know if the more "rock style" of his voice fits to this particular song. I prefer a more classical and dramatic voice personally to this song
