Interesting how the original idea of the way villager trading with you worked was brought back when piglins were introduced, only this time using gold instead of emeralds.
I makes sense with Piglins, they are more violent than the villagers who are pacifists and refuse to fight
What's also interesting is that the original idea for the villagers was for them to be pigmen, not unlike the piglins, so in a way they kinda brought back what villagers could've been had things been different

I like that last bit. It's their way of acknowledging how players essentially enslave villagers for personal gain, without blatantly saying it in a way that would get them cancelled. XD

Potions. If I'm not mistaken, gunpowder added to potions makes them splash potions. A splash potion of healing to heal pet pigs is generally considered pacifist, so...

@@Anonymous-ks1pn Just as another user said, the structures still spawn, there's just no pillagers. Oddly enough, pillagers will spawn in woodland mansions, but they're passive...
@@Anonymous-ks1pn I mean even if you aren't on peaceful, it's pretty easy to loot an outpost. Just run in there dodging the arrows, get the loot and get out

@@veryboringchannel6365 well in bedrock edition the circles are actually not pixelated, they may not be perfect circles but they definitely aren’t pixelated like the blocks around them.
5:00 Mojang doesn't (or highly do) know that THIS particular part is actually very relatable, especially for those familiar with Trading Halls.
Personally I find the wandering trader to be useless, aside from the leather and leads one can get from killing his llamas. He'd be more useful if we could *sell* things to him, after all, he's supposed to be a trader. Traders don't just sell only, so wandering traders showing up with "I have X items to sell and I'm looking for Y items to buy" would be a simple but incredibly useful update.
But the trader is not tied to any job block, therefore there is no particular genre of items that could story-wise be useful to him. He is like a nomad, with stuff to sell, and only needs money for a simple living.

I think that making them biome dependant would be awesome, they could trade like acacia saplings in the savannah for other saplings and offer stuff like red sandstone or coral, also, special wandering traders that only spawn in peaceful and offer mob drops would make Minecraft actually playable in peaceful.
@@paperfrog2816 whats the point of the sapling trade if he offers you the sapling of the biome it spawned in? The whole point of traders is to make available to you stuff from around the world, that you might not have found yet.
I love the wandering traders, let’s me gather saplings I otherwise wouldn’t be able to find

The dichotomy of the Villager. Can create infinite iron golems from thin air, can offer the most powerful enchantments in the whole world with ease even as novices, have a seemingly infinite supply of diamonds for selling gear made from it... And will repeatedly walk off the one drop in the village that harms them.
Always remember to keep your villagers safe from not only the outside world, but themselves as well.

To be fair the wandering trader sand trades are helpful for me who needs sand but doesn't want to ruin a beach for it. Also the saplings from other biomes and blue ice.
I just wanted to say… Minecraft is probably one of the best and most nostalgic games to exist. It’s jam-packed with memories and endless hours of fun. Thank you so much, Mojang, for creating this masterpiece

Originally, the villagers were going to be pigmen. But this was changed and that’s why piglins got it instead as they’re revamps

Finding out that the trader is supposed to give you stuff from biomes far away would be more useful than random generation. They should put that function back in based on where you are primarily building so you can have access to materials that generate in far off chunks
that would be kinda hard to code

@@khiemgom i'm not so sure it would be difficult. Traders are programmed to find the player's bases using some sort of script (probably where the player bed is or where the the player centralizes it's buildings). If they reuse that code and use the coordinate it spawns the Trader, scan all biome tags within 'X' Chunks, and if there are missing biomes populate a list 'Y'. Then have a set of trades based on each biome that represent those biomes or are exclusive to said biome and if a Trader spawns give it a percentage chance to have one of the Biomes from "Y' 's trades populate the trader. Then have the Trader leave after "z" days and return with a new set of trades based on a different biome from "Y".
Player could have the chance to get resources that are hard to find because of distance of generation, and also it would let Players know that certain biomes are very far off and will require the players to search much farther to find those resources.
@@ZComiX It can actually be simpler than that. Biomes with similar climates are more likely to spawn next to each other than ones with different climates. Trader spawns in a Warm Biome? Sell cold biome specific trades. Heck if it's a Warm biome than have 1 or 2 trades sell items from rare cold Biomes (Ice spikes, Etc.) and if in a cold biome sell items from rare warm Biomes (Mushroom Island, etc.)
Just be a matter of a simple biome check to pick what trade tables are used

It's very interesting the idea that villagers were originally just going to throw items at you the way piglins do now.
These videos are top tier, the team working on them done amazing work
The 2:44 design really reminded me of Terraria's wandering trader, personal opinion, I think another collab with Terraria would be cool! It's been a really long time since the first crossover and many things have changed for both games/teams!
Would be pretty awesome if a boss like Duke Fishron or even the long-forgotten Ocram got added.
@@shrimpnft509 Ye, or some uselul items, like boots maybe, King Slime as a boss since there are already slimes in Minecraft, or even Demon Eyes as a new mob! Or golden bunnies as a reference to Terraria. And for Terraria, why not adding the Wither since it originally was inspired by Terraria, or foxes, and some tools/wings like elytras.
Minecraft and Terraria had a collab? I only know that Terraria has a creeper outfit and an “Also try Minecraft!” message, while Minecraft has “Also try Terraria!” (and apparently Terraria inspired the Wither’s summon mechanic), but they don’t seem to have done any big collabs…

I always had a wild idea that, wandering traders could take "photos" of other people worlds and then another player could buy them and see it or put it on a item frame.
It will be lovely to randomly share a part of your world to others, but I know it could be problematic because you can show something inappropriate or something like that

I like the wandering trader for the renewable sand so I don’t have to move an entire desert most of the time
I wish in an update there will be strong warrior villagers. I just can't an entire Raid myself and these villagers need to learn to protect themselves.
mojang already said that villagers don't like to fight, and that would not suit them and they already have the iron golem and the player himself to make their defense
I like to think there used to be warrior villagers long, long ago, but they slowly became obsolete as golem technology grew.

Wandering Traders are a great resource.... for leads and leather.
Actaully Wandering Traders don't drop leads nor leather, the llama drops leather (and it isnt even a great source of it), lead is pretty useless is most places
