Number 10 (floating text) is actually done to prevent z-fighting, which is when two textures overlap and you get some pretty jarring artifacts. I think Iron Bars still have this issue on their bottom texture when placed on top of another block. (Fun fact: laos do this too with their player indicator thingies and players on 2b2t figured out how to make it stick out miltiple blocks)
For the trident height difference, I believe the reason is because the water has physics. The water has more drag on the player, so it cuts a bunch of momentum. That's why you want a shallow pool, to minimize the amount of drag the water has on you.
@Oye Hoye no it doesnt and also idk how S.T.T got a propultion to y=102, like there will be some height to the place he is standing but, the max propultion I got with the trident was around 40 blocks.
There is actually a use of putting beacons on beacons because you can this to make a dirt beacon by covering your iron pyramid with it then put another beacon on top.
So, with the iron door having a handle as a placed object but not as an item, I feel like it wasn’t always that way. I started playing Minecraft back in Beta 1.4, and I’m pretty sure the placed iron door didn’t have a handle then. I could be wrong though. I vaguely remember trying to replace the wooden door on my first house with an iron door when I had no idea what I was doing, and getting frustrated because I couldn’t figure out how to make it open.
The reason the sign has the text slightly offset is to prevent something known as Z-Fighting. Basically, if you have two objects inside each other, any camera movement at all will cause them to flash, and even when stationary, you'll see some of one texture and one of the other. This happens due to your GPU not knowing what object to render on top of the other, and this isn't just a Minecraft thing.
There are ways to combat this, I just don't think they've taken the time to mess with it as it's very unnoticeable. But I also don't know what game engine they used to make it, so I don't know if it's a supported fix either. But ye, youre right, and it's annoying to work with
10:46 Allow me to explain this to you. first off, you are starting at a lower point. Then you need to consider the drag caused by the water. Because a player is 2 blocks high, if you start with a 1 block depth you are already above water level with half of the character. This means that there is only a slight amount of drag because you do not have to pierce through the top layer of the water. If you are two blocks deep, you have to fight the water current to be able to start going up. When you think about it, you will realise that this lowers the amout of force that is propelling you forwards.
@@theultimatejoyofgaming7559 Potentially, the faster we go the more drag we will create (water causes more drag than air), however, because the water will be a factor in a such a short period of the journey, I believe we will go higher as I think the smaller 'Water drag time,' will begin to have greater (positive) effect (shorter time in water) than the (negative) effect of the higher speed increasing the drag more, lowering the speed faster (for the amount of water used) as the water block gets smaller. However, I do believe there will be a visible cap as we test the last few water pixels (flowing water). Go try it out mate! Would love to actually know! Honestly I don't know what I am saying anymore. My brain is confuzzled. Please try it out with command blocks and all of that fancy stuff. I want to know 😂
Another way to move villagers is to use a workstation block. Place it some distance away and the villager will move toward it. Just remove it at place it further along the path you want the villager to move and you can thus move the villager anywhere you want to. (Seen on a few of the Hermitcraft season 9 videos)
Everyone: Hey want to jump on an SMP? Everyone who watched the video: Sure! Everyone who watched the video: See, the complexity of the poppy is just excellent-
With the sign, the text floats above the signs texture so it doesn't glitch up with a trait called Z clipping, where the two textures osculate and fight in the computing for which is actually on top.
Why does everybody hate on the furnace minecart? I love it, it's such a useful thing if you want to move villagers by minecart and dont have alot of gold for powered rails.
Boat in minecart can carry 2 villagers and has infinite momentum, making it 3x better than a furnace minecart. Now if they fixed trains then we'd be talking
I use it for moving villagers too, dunno why they hate it, it takes one coal to move a villager where it would take a stack of gold and red stone power sources. If it’s a one-time use track, it’s perfect to push things along. If it’s a permanent track then definitely use redstone and gold. But one-time use tracks are amazing with it. And here’s its advantage over boats: it can actually go up tiny hills and fit in smaller spaces, and you don’t have to row it around.
For the furnace minecart, you can just put it behind and it should work well. I've done it before and it makes it so you don't need as many powered rails/any at all.
At first I thought, that hearts for riding mobs are pieces of meat, then I thought, that these are little foxes(you can even see eyes and nose), but I wouldn't thought about them being saddles, this is a nice little detail!
First of all this video made it to my recommended! secondly I must say I am VERY IMPRESSED by the editing, very professional! Since we're here, I thought you should also have mentioned the campfire, I couldn't find anything about it on the Wiki page but when the campfire is on you can see that the bottom of the logs are burning, would be cool if it stayed like that even after extinguishing it, great video!
The reason Bedrocks Render distance is so high is because it is based on your RAM, while java uses your CPU. So Bedrock can get more and better render disntance.
The riptide being Stronger in shallow pools is because when you use riptide straight up, it launches you a set number of blocks from where you're standing, hence why the deeper pool gives a lesser boost.
The best use of Furnace Minecarts is moving Mobs around a long distance. Just pop them in their own cart and have a Furnace cart push them. They will get pushed up hills and everything with no effort. No need for Powered Rails at all!
It's easy to hypothesize an explanation to the difference in the riptide effect: water is probably slowing you down a little, so when you travel one more block in water, you are being slowed for one block more.
I knew the details about the jungle log and the horse heart textures, though for some reason I didn't know until now that the horse heart was a sideways saddle. I also knew about the sun and moon thing.
I remember way back in the early days of Minecraft pocket edition, there was a glitch or bug where it only took 6 diamonds to make a block, and turning that block back into diamonds gave 9.
It's because you instantly leave the water when using riptide on a shallow source, but when it's deep, the water block on top slows you down a bit, meaning you do'nt go as high
For the riptide one I would expect that the water would slow you down so when you’re in the shallow water you would be in the water for less time after the initial launch so you would go faster and hence higher
The riptide works best in shallow water because the second you release the trident, you get the boost. The extra water slows you down making you go less of a difference.
the reason the iron door doesn't have a handle is because when it was first put into the game it didnt have a handle. so when mojang retextured almost every thing in the game the iron door item stayed the same but the iron door block got a useless handle.
When using the riptide trident in 2 blocks deep water, your player starts just instantly gets velocity. Since you are in water, which slows you down, makes it so that you go less high.
10:56 the reason the shallow water does higher is the same reason you dont die if you pop a bucket of water below you when falling. The water slows you down the deeper you go.
