- The Nintendo Switch has become popular for many people as a first party system with Nintendo putting out really compelling games. The only issue is you may prefer a controller like the PS4 or Xbox One and would like to use it on your Switch without any issues. Today I'm showing you how I connect my PS4 controller to the Switch in a really easy way.

You know whats funny is that technically the Switch "could" support the PS4 controller through the same Bluetooth connection, but of course for competition reasons they purposely block that and then third party creates these usb adapters to get around that block... in a perfect world Nintendo could of just allowed it with no adapters needed lol
I doubt sony would want that either though...they already hate crossplay, I can totally see them doing something

Consider most of people who owns a switch also has a PS4/XBOX One. Allow the direct connection between these controller would heavily affects the joycon Pro sales.....

It can but not with that wireless adapter. You need the genki which enables 2 bluetooth devices at the same time plus it comes with the microphone wireless reciever. Check out Amazon.

I’ve been using the Mayflash adapter that is pretty similar to this, but with a more basic looking design. I like syncing up the Wii-mote and connecting one of the snes classic controllers to play retro/retro inspired games. Works great! Good video man!

Me and a friend both use this with a PS4 controller. I had a spare controller lying around and am primarily used to the Playstation layout. It works amazingly, except that I don't have the Nintendo button layout memorized so I always have the joycon controller nearby to use as a key.

It can also work with the receivers made by 8bitdo for the minis. Just plug in a USB cord to the receiver on the side. I'm using these because I already have them and thanks to this video I can use my xbox controller !

You are expanding your videos 😀 8bitdo works well with any emulators for andriod phones tablets etc as well if anyone was wondering. It would never happen in a official manner but it would be cool if gaming companys offered this to all consoles
The best part is, this still works in 2021. You'll just have to run a software update for it.
I got so excited when I got this. Before it got delivered, I built my own stand out of lego, designed to hold the switch up while it's plugged in and for this.
That's okay. I just had about 7.5kg worth of Lego parts given to us, and it was a shame to just hide it away.

The Mayflash adapter and a Brooks Adapter works for wired controllers such as fight sticks and other controllers too.

I have it and its great but I think you might need the grey version (which is what I have) for the PSClassic. Not entirely sure though.
@@VenomSnakeMGS Or you can just replace the firmware with the one that is supposed to be for the PSXC. Of course you'll have to keep on replacing firmwares every time you switch consoles. Pain in the... but yeah beats paying another $20. I'm a cheapskate... just like RGT. #pro4rgt

magic ns is better imo as wireless works (with rumble) and it also has the ability to plug a usb conection in so you can played wired (also you can even plug usb dongles for third party ps3 controllers into it and use those)

I use the Mayflash Magic ns, its a little more expensive than the 8-bit do but also has a couple extra features like being able to use wired usb controllers and a couple more modes. I primarily use it with a wii u pro controller as a secondary controller for guests or when I bring the switch to a party as I already have a Switch pro and second set of joy cons, so the adapter brings me up to 4 full controllers. Although I'll probably swap it for an xbox one controller if I can get one super cheap.
Waitt I am getting the animal crossing switch soon and I didn't want to have to spend extra money because I know drift is a problem.. So nice to know I have a backup plan

I think in some ways the Mayflash Magic-NS adapted is better. It is compatible not only with the Switch but PC, PS4 and NeoGeo Mini as well. You can also sync your pro controller or joy cons to it, which while obviously being obsolete for the Switch, it's an easy way to use both joy cons on PC.
However, the main reason I ultimately chose it over 8BitDo adapter is because it also has a USB port at the end to use the controllers with a wire, in case they run out of battery.
The main downside with it though I guess would be that it can take a bit to switch between modes, as PC, Switch, PS4 and NeoGeo Mini all use different modes to be compatible. It at least is an easy and straightforward process though.

For me, I’ve noticed that the button inputs take slightly longer for it to be registered on the switch than a Joy Con would take.
You can connect a wiimote + a NES classic controller (or snes classic) to play with the switch with the 8bitdo adapter

would've been neat if it actually supported multiple controllers rather than 1. Of course you can (I think?) just get multiple adapters, but having a single adapter that'd let you use Xbox / Ps controllers with your switch would be neat for those local multiplayer games, like Smash, Kart and whatever else there might be.. since some people might just have multiple controllers @ home, but from different consoles ^^"

I did not see my nintendo switch controllers so i needed to watch this
I picked up doom eternal for my switch. It’s amazing but with my big hands, the joycons are not comfortable for hours of FPS gaming. This is great I have 4 Xbox one controllers so perfect
I use a Mayflash Magic-NS (for Switch) Also works for my pc.
Same.. This is much better & more expensive for a reason.. (also got updates etc) so we always had rumble & gyro (while using ps4 controllers)
A A I read on Amazon someone had an issue syncing the DS4 back to the PS4 with the Mayflash. Is that actually an issue?

To answer your question yes it runs smoothly by syncing from ps4 to switch(vice versa). Just have to use the sync button correctly same with any other Bluetooth device.
@@soridosunekusoridosuneku well I don't know. I have only a switch and a PC. Now getting the Pro controller synced back up with the switch is rather easy. What I do is plug the controller with the usb/usbc cable into the dock then once synced unplug and done.
For syncing to the pc plug the mayflash in be sure it's on the blue light. Press the button and let go so its light is flashing fast. Then hit the sync light on the pro controller and you're all done.

If you have an Elite Controller (xbox) you can also use the Brooks McBazel adapter. The cool thing is that it attaches to the controller, not your switch so no need for dongles and you don't lose kickstand capabilities. Even better: it adds Motion Control to the controller, so all you're missing out on is the NFC from the Pro Controller
I've been using it for a few months with a DS4 I bought solely for use with this adapter, for Switch and PC/emulation.
I chose the DS4 for motion aiming in Breath of the Wild (also the D-pad tbh) and honestly not only was this about as expensive as a Switch Pro controller ($20 adapter, $45 DualShock 4) but the DS4 outweighs all other options. It feels better to hold, as the Switch Pro controller feels like it might slip out of my hand because the wings are a bit small, the D-pad on the DS4 works MUCH better than the Switch's controllers (Joy-Cons excluded), and in general the buttons are softer and quieter. Plus it only adds 10ms of latency more than Joy-Cons have, which to 90% of people is completely unnoticeable.
Overall I would recommend this adapter if you want Bluetooth controller conversion, however I do also highly recommend people look into the ChronusMAX from all the way back in like 2013 or so. It works with a multitude of controllers and consoles, and I see a lot of people in the comments here asking about how to use this adapter for Xbox controllers on PS4 or vice versa. The 8bitdo adapter won't do that, but the ChronusMAX will. However I do not know if the ChronusMAX has added support for the Switch.
Just buy the original hardware, Emulation is cheating
There's definitely a noticeable difference with using Bluetooth, that's why I play rocket league wired with my DS4. But it might be less noticeable on switch, although rocket league isn't even playable on switch when it's docked because of the delay.

this works great for me with dualshock 4, but unfortunately not so great with xbox one/series x controllers, I've tried 3 of mine and none of them worked properly, the controller had to be held super close to the dongle and even then there'd be issues with inputs.
also yeah, the controllers I used were definitely Bluetooth enabled, I've used them on my computer and phone before 🙏

I have a PS4 controller that I use on my old ps2 via a special adaptor, with my Mac for roms. And once I get my switch for that also. It’s a great controller that was probably based on the original snes. 😜
What I'd prefer is using the Switch Pro Controller on PS4. That thing is amazing. Great battery life, comfortable, and just works really well.
Switch pro controller is pretty much xbox controller but not as good.

Not really, the xbox controller’s shoulder buttons are on one of the most uncomfortable positions in any modern controller. They are way to high for their own good. I try putting both pointing fingers on top of them to test and they start straining my fingers.
I use the mayflash magic ns adapter instead as it supports Bluetooth but also has a USB port for plugging in a older Xbox controller without Bluetooth. I use it along with my Xbox one elite controller

After the motion control test... I just had to get it. As much as I love my Switch I just prefer the PS4 controller's control stick orientation over the Switch/Xbox's. Hell with this thing I can probably finally ditch the crappy cheap USB controller I use on PC
