James, your collection has grown a lot. Excited to see your awesome collection. Thanks for the update, can't wait to see what's next. Glad to see you back.
Great tour of your tools James. You've got quite an array there and I like that you've got lots of different brands. The shed is looking fantastic too with all the garage memorabilia. I enjoy your tutorials too so keep up your good work.
Great set of tools. You've come along way in a couple of years, since your early videos.Have you still got the original tools?Just don't become obsessed with Snap On stuff, you'll be throwing money away, which could be spent on something else in life.
g w pee I'd say the obsession has taken hold already, quite badly. Not having a dig James, Snap On for a diy'er / home mechanic just doesn't make sense. Unless the tools are earning money for you the overpriced outlay is hard to justify. Fair play to you if you have the disposable income to spend on the stuff though 👍. Bottom line is we all love tools so it's understandable!
Cheers bud, i do have alot of my original tools, the rest i have either given to friends/family to get them started. Dont worry about that as much as i love the stuff everything you see here is second hand off ebay/facebook i paid less that half the retail price for the lot :) i know when to stop too lol.
You make a valid point chap, i would never pay truck prices for snap on! All my stuff have been absolute bargains. Not only that i could re-sell it all and not only get my money back but i could actually make a small profit. Thats how cheap i bought it. Not to mention.. Lets say i get a quote for a timing chain on my car.. garage wants £300 i can do it for £80 and my time which is free.. Thats a chunk of my snap on already paid for! So it may not be making me money but its saving me a load! It is what it is i suppose i plan on owing it until i die and passing it on so i guess its worth it :) cheers for watching
Those long box end spanners at 14:48 are ideal for belt tensioner bolts when doing alternators etc... when you need the extra leverage. Great set up mate, nice tools ⚒👌🏻
Very nice setup for a weekend warrior mechanic. It's nice to see how you've upgraded your kit as you've gained more knowledge. You'll need to speak to the Snap On man now and see if he has any nice trade in boxes to replace the Halford's ones!
Awesome tour! You sure have been growing your setup since the last one, good to see. I have been a tech for about 18 or so years and I think you may have me about beat in the Snap on selection.
Nice collection of handtools, hope your shed has good security as they tend to be a target here in the uk. Have you seen the snapon age chart that tells how old the snapon tools are, they are stamped with an emblem that indicates year of manufacture
Craftsman ratchets were what my grandad used and my dad but I was always a snap on guy or just about anything else that was of good quality. When my dad used them they were American made and my grandad had the good stuff from the 50s now craftsman is mostly made in Taiwan and they don’t make that ratchet anymore but the newer ones are okay at this point it’s just a common brand and not bad but not special either.
Nice video, nice collection of snap on / tools. I do appreciate good tools too and I like how you justify spending money on quality tools because at the end of the day you are saving money doing work yourself. I don't like big clunky toolboxes as it's such a pain running back and fourth as you use 5% of the tool chest. Over my years I have fine tuned a small portable tool chest on wheels that comes with me to the job/car which serves me 95% of the time. A it like your tool cart. I'm not a mechanic either but am in the trade and put my hand to most things. It's not just about saving money though that's where I get my enjoyment from!
Got round to doing a tour of my own. No where near as many tools as you and definitely need to improve on my recording skills aha. Uploaded it onto my channel just!
notice the difference between your old and new snap on ratchets. the new ones don't say USA on the ratchet mechanism where as the older ones do. indicating that the guts are outsourced.
I started buying tools when I left school at 15 and started as an apprentice mechanic that was 45 years ago and I'm still buying tools. Once you have been bitten by the tool bug that's it, There is no cure
Hi james, loving all the snap on tools! Have you got part numbers for the driver bit that go into the ratchet screwdriver? Ive been looking around but cant seem to find them anywhere, thanks!
You have a lot of nice tools. The tool boxes are sweet too. But your shed is a bit far from the place where you work on your cars isn't it? Do you take the tools with you when you do work?
Hello where did u get the hawk impact gun from been looking for one as it would help alot at work but can only see the bigger sized ones but im looking for the smaller version like urs
Great video bud you have a great collection and should be super proud of what you have. i work in a main dealer here in the uk and you have a better collection than some of they guys i work with haha, keep it up dude !!
Try Armstrong ratchets, a lot better then those Craftsmans.. and just because your not a mechanic doesn't mean you can't have nice tools, and a lot of nice tools at that. Keep up the collection it's very nice thus far
great amount off tools for a home mechanic / collect! its a dirty and expensive habbit haha! where do you buy most your stuff? do you have any dealers come to you?
James, you have a LOT of ratchets. I've always said that money spent on tools is never wasted because you never know when you're gonna need that tool again. You've plenty of Snap On stuff which in my book is one of the best brands. The stuff from Alid & Lidl are excellent value for money but you have to grab them while they're there because they don't hang around on the shelf for long.
The Savage Garage I have a 3 pc box set and a small side box.., set up like yours.. Snap On boxes and I’ve outgrown them.., it’s took me 20 years, but I’m there..
very impressive mate your getting there aren't you . For a home mechanic I think your doing really well with your collection . I'm getting there my self But it takes time. Especially when you think you have an insurance company who you think has your back and they quote a clause in the policy that's the size of a pin head and shaft you and leave you in the lurch . How can they expect a fella to hold on to a receipt from 1989 There was other things too I reckon on ratchets alone I was down 1k As I'm not in the game professionally I cant and wont pay Snap On prices . I stick to the old style Britool Hall mark tools I'm just not keen on the Expert logo dunno why it's just not for me. Take care Daz
James why would anyone feel the need to blight you . I've followed you from the start more or less and its fare to say you've earned your way up in the brand department . You haven't told lies or tried to B.S. anyone . If some one does moan that's down to their short cummings not your own. As I've said else where you have a great home kit that should last you a good while ,People don't like what you've worked for sod'em As far as I can see you've been above bored from the start. Respect Darren
you've definitely stepped up you're snap on game man. Great to see how your collection has progressed. I love that long 1/2 ratchet, i remember when i got mine, definite game changer. You got any more mini videos lined up?
LM Garage thanks mate appreciate it! The 1/2 ratchet is a monster! Yea the mini tools are going to be whenever I can film them, my dad works out of the country for weeks at a time and it's his car, but soon as I can I'll be back on it
What is soo good about snap on, I work in a dealership (skoda) and all my older colleagues have said, if they could start again they all wouldn't buy snap on ever again as it is just too expensive and not worth the extra cost. I my tools are teng.
Mark Atkinson Quality tools made in America. They have a no bullshit warranty system just take and exchange. And of course they are a status symbol. Everyone likes to have snap on in there box. It's really up to you if you want to fork over the money. Don't buy stuff you can't afford, many young students get caught up paying the snap on guy for months.
wrong, snap on warranty is the worst. Oh sure, YOU might have a good dealer but as soon as he quits or retires say goodbye to your warranty. Other dealers are not obligated to warranty tools you didnt buy from them and they generally wont...I guess you can call corporate and make a fuss, they might have you mail it in and replace it for you, but is all that worth it? especially since almost all retailers have 80-90% comparable quality and really DO have a no hassle warranty. So you can buy a tool almost as good as Snap on and get a real warranty or buy snap on that is only about 10% better at a 700% higher price and get a gamblers warranty with it.....
Good tour, man. As for THAT particular Craftsman ratchet design (teardrop) it is not great. Usable , but not great. USA made ones will have "U.S.A." stamped on it, but even the teardrop USA-made ones were so-so. You may have already heard all this before but I thought would mention it still. Good video, man. =)
as an American nice to see the snapon gear nice! but showing that craftsman ratchet hurt I have a ton of american made craftsman tools and they rock the foreign made stuff just blows balls.
please for the love of Jesus put that torque wrench in a case or at least not in a big draw where it can get knocked around by big items. its a precision tool and it should be treated that way. also i think your hack saw blade was on backwards. on another note how good is the long 1/2 snap on ratchet, one recently made its way into my tool box and my life has not been he same since.
Lol its alright thats not actually the torque wrench i use! i found it in the loft when i moved in! it probably was! That 1/2 snap on is a god send. Really nice tool! i picked mine up for £80 brand new which i was quite happy about too!
The Savage Garage i will one up you with the deal I got on my ratchet, my dad found it on the side of the road. He sent me a text with a photo of it asking if it was any good to me.
Yeah that's not a US made Craftsman ratchet if it was it would say made in USA on the handle. US made ones were great, the one you have is good for beating on till it breaks, lol. There are several other Chinese brands we can get here that are much better quality for the money.

look into getting a set of the snap on mini picks. they are a lot stronger than the cheaper ones.
Im the same mate, not a mechanic but i still buy snap-on tools the quality is superb, great vid, always love a toolbox tour :)
Very nice setup for a weekend warrior mechanic. It's nice to see how you've upgraded your kit as you've gained more knowledge. You'll need to speak to the Snap On man now and see if he has any nice trade in boxes to replace the Halford's ones!

Craftsman is a homeowner tool set, cheap with great warranty, that's why you see it a lot. Professionals use Snap-On, Matco and Mac
very nice tools and that tool chest ain't bad at all plenty of drawers and looks sturdy.
Nice tool box tour from a fellow tool collector and user...and self taught auto mechanic! Keep up the good work
Nice collection I've been doing more tool reviews lately just picked up a bunch of snap on stuff too
great collection there, quite fancy a set of those trident ratchets for my own collection
Andy vxr very good value for the set mate! The half inch is great so the others are just a bonus!
Nice collection of handtools, hope your shed has good security as they tend to be a target here in the uk. Have you seen the snapon age chart that tells how old the snapon tools are, they are stamped with an emblem that indicates year of manufacture
great video dude been waiting on this alot of snap on there great tools u better make sure that shed is secure lol
Nice tour. Go find vintage Craftsman tools - usually have (USA) on it somewhere! Strong.
as always James excellent tool box tour, certainly alot more snap on equipment compared to your earlier videos. :)
Cheers mike, yea im trying to up my game a little in the tools department! Looking to set myself up for the long run :)
Good video come along way from your first toolbox tour. Great collection of tools you got there
Awesome update. Iv watched all your other ones. I'm glad you have done an update. Thank you for the video

Great video! will soon be time to upgrade the box itself as the current on is overflowing! Made me tempted to do a toolbox tour myself now
Yea a new box is in the pipe line :) You should! Let me know when you've done it and ill check it out myself!
Got round to doing a tour of my own. No where near as many tools as you and definitely need to improve on my recording skills aha. Uploaded it onto my channel just!
Looking good! You look like a pro with your tools.Time to start charging for your repair services.
notice the difference between your old and new snap on ratchets. the new ones don't say USA on the ratchet mechanism where as the older ones do. indicating that the guts are outsourced.
Awesome toolbox tour buddy 👌 kinda hard to admit but ive been a working technician now for 10 years and you have more expensive tools than i do 🤣
i think they actually go up to 16mm but dont include the 16s in the set like how the 3/8 set is cut off at 19 or 20mm
The gold Allen and Torx bits from Snap On are supposed to be stronger than the grey ones, according to the Snap On guy that comes to my work.
Halfords extension have wobble ends as well there lit for £5 on trade card
What's a trade card?
I love your set up and decor
Were did you you get the snap on tools from i used to be a mechanic so i got mine from then wish i could still collect them Teng tools are good
You have a great tool kit bud. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers martin! Appreciate you watching!
Hey nice set tools. Lots of good quality goodies !!
I started buying tools when I left school at 15 and started as an apprentice mechanic that was 45 years ago and I'm still buying tools. Once you have been bitten by the tool bug that's it, There is no cure
Its a pretty great illness to have lets be honest! lol
Brilliant tour mate!!!
Hi james, loving all the snap on tools! Have you got part numbers for the driver bit that go into the ratchet screwdriver? Ive been looking around but cant seem to find them anywhere, thanks!

So how much did that all set you back than? Honestly I'm not a fan of snap on more of a facom man my self but looks good
Hello where did u get the hawk impact gun from been looking for one as it would help alot at work but can only see the bigger sized ones but im looking for the smaller version like urs

damn you've been investing in snap on eh! nice tour. how are you getting on filming on the driveway? overcome the awkwardness of it yet?
Mac sells Expert as a lower line in the US, just like Snap-On sells Blue-Point as a lower line. Mac is still Mac.

Good tour, man. As for THAT particular Craftsman ratchet design (teardrop) it is not great. Usable , but not great. Nice man!!!

Cheers damien!
Expert is to Mac what Blue Point is to Snap On.
Nice one james☺
Nice Ellen wrenches .
Yeah that's not a US made Craftsman ratchet if it was it would say made in USA on the handle. US made ones were great, the one you have is good for beating on till it breaks, lol. There are several other Chinese brands we can get here that are much better quality for the money.
Time for a bigger box, eh? 😏👍😉
Waiting for project SRi :) ;)
