In regards to the Tycoon in The Twinning, who's not only named after Castle Tycoon, but is also named after the King.
His name being King Alexander Highwind Tycoon.

Tycoon in the Twinning is also based on designs from the Goblin Primal Alexander. Thus Alexander Tycoon.

This is why I love FFV so much, I know it won't beat FF7 storywise but the game has a deep story and so much content and secret for a limited snes rpg

I actually started playing XIV 4 months ago, after beating pretty much all the previous ones except XI and XVI (but I doubt there will be references to XVI before Dawntrail expansion). And it is a joy to catch some references myself, especially the ones from the older games, since I'm a big fan of V and VI monster design in pixel art. But obviously I missed more than a few. 😊

21:10 I just noticed the Carbuncle in the Summon list. Apparently, Final Fantasy V is the first instance of this summon in the series. Didn't realize it was a recurring Summon.

The whole concept of Rejoinings comes from Final Fantasy V. And the scholars on the Isle of Val were researching the Rejoining just before Emmerololth appeared.

While I did like this video. I would like the mention in Deltascape V3 normal and Savage. The arena does changes throughout the fight referencing the sections of the interdimensional rift. While in normal mode it's castle, caves, and the sand maze. The savage mode adds two more arena type which is the forest and library. Of course enemy adds also appear in those arenas as well, In the forest white flame appears as an enemy add and can also cast white wind like the blue mage spell. In the library, a smaller version of Apanda gets summoned. Also in Deltascape V4, the normal mode starting arena references the first fight against Exdeath in his castle before going to the merged world section of the game.

One thing that just realized now is that The Sundering is not the first time the world gets split to prevent a catastrophe, FF5 is the first game to take that concept, the world split in two and then rejoined. I dont know if it is a reference or a coincidence but I think it was worth mentioning.

I have to admit that I still need to play FF8, 10, 15 and 16. But so far, I think Exdeath is the best villain of any FF. He was so good that they put a lot of effort on his fight and the entire concept of the FFXIV story up to Endwalker is based on Exdeath motives for doing what he did.

I only played a little of FFV, but I feel like the old cross-class abilities system could have been inspired from the way you could use some abilities of jobs even when not being that job.
