I find it amazingly interesting that Lahabrea is the one who runs Pandemonium in FF14. Lahabrea's espher is Mateus, and in FF2 Emperor Mateus final battle is in no other place than Pandemonium... That was a cool reference not only from FF12 and FF2 to FF14 but also between FF2 and FF12

An interesting one I notice not many people talk about is Zenos's parallels to Vayne Solidor.
    - Being the power hungry son of the current emperor.
    - Serves as the viceroy of Ala Mhigo and Doma, mirroring Vayne's role as consul of Rabanastre.
    - He's the leader of the XIIth Legion in 4.0.
    - Works with the scientist, Aulus Asina, to create a manmade version of the echo. These two aspects mirror Vayne working with Doctor Cid and the creation of Manufacted Nethicite.
    - Becomes the recurring Shinryu dragon as the final boss, mirroring Vayne's transformation as the Undying (which is the recurring Bahamut).
    - Kills the current emperor in 5.0, mirroring Vayne's murder of his father Gramis.
    - Working with Fandaniel, the rogue Ascian, in 5.4 - 6.0, mirroring Vayne working with Venat, the rogue Occuria.

Just wanted to point out a couple of minor things:
    - while the garlean armor tends to be based off of XII, the designs of the XIV legion’s higher ups, like Gaius, etc, seem to be heavily based of XI summons. Gaius is clearly based off Odin and Nero is based off of Bahamut, their CI designs respectively. I made a post on Reddit about it a few months ago.
    - the music used in the Ivalice raids are specifically their original forms on PlayStation and PlayStation 2. It’s in Zadnor that they change to the orchestral arrangements from The Zodiac Age :)

in FF12, there is an Elite Hunt from Montblanc to track down the legendary Belito in the Nam-Yensa sandsea. the picture is what appears to be a big birdman enemy like an Urstrix or Mirrorknight, and the zone to go to is crawling with enemies like them. when you approach the battle, theres no Belito, but Ba'Gamnan and his crew ambush you.
in FF14, there is a FATE in Eastern Thanalan of a battle against the Belito. it is the big birdman you expect it to be.

I have to say that the glyph part was the most enlightening part. I would see the server names (like Mateus or Zalera) but had no idea where they were from or what kind of reference they were.
I had a friend who was discussing what Hydaelyn's true name would and I couldn't wrap my head how they guessed it was Venat or where the name Venat specifically came from (this was before her name was announced officially). I guess they made the connection of a possible name because of similar fates and references?

You cannot forget that though FFXII was only in reference, that the Viera home is still in FFXIV outside where the Monastery sits though we do not get to see it. And that the Empire in XII dissolved and slowly ended up becoming the Garlean Empire, stated from what characters have said and notes from the Bozja content. It was stated that after the collapse the proto-Garleans moved to what would be the Garlean Empire Captail shortly after the Alliance brokered between the Kingdoms in FFXII. Yes, the timelines are completely different, the similarities and when things happened still were relevant enough to still be "Sorta canon" to XIV with Tactics and XII.
Onto more pronounce and not theory crafted ones: The Idle Battle Animation race specific from the Lancer/Dragoon of the Roes and Hrothgar also share a resemblance to the Idle Battle Animations of the Lancer like job in FFXII with their lances higher in the air, and when the Lancer/Dragoon runs (Without Sprint) also resembles one of the idle animations from FFXII. Another FF9 resemblance I believe with the Lancer/Dragoon sprint animation resembles how Freya runs in one of the concept art for her, as a side note.

One of the references I like the most is more of a thematic parallel, Gaius mentions it offhand in the end of are. But varris really goes into it as his motivation at post Stormblood. They want to get the reigns of history and fate back into the hands of people, rather than shadowyy forces that's been manipulating it behind the scenes for ages. Now that's some xii empire shit if I ever saw it

I always wanted to make a video from XII's influence over XIV someday but this video really nails it down perfectly.
I really want them to introduce even other things from XII in the future such as the Gambit System, I know that the trust system has the devs that worked on the FFXII's Gambit system before
but personally I would REALLY love some in-depth take implemented onto trust members, Similar to what you see in XII but only applicable to NPC's and Trust members.
Customizing how they behave with multiple enemies, as well controlling who and how they should do limit-break actions, among other stuff. There was a time that expanding the trust system seemed impossible and now they're adding even further support into older dungeons as well future ones from the MSQ Content. Even adding a whole trial with trust members (Some people legit thought it was a crazy thought to even consider this on FFXIV, Let alone on an MMO, And here we are) So i'll keep dreaming just like I did before until they add the gambit system onto XIV someday.
Anyway, Amazing video! You got a subscriber.

Often the mask provided to you by Tataru's second outfit is what the form is implied to be, Others base it more closely off of the glyph of summoning.
