if you wanna pre rig your wackys use 3/8 clear automorive heat shrink tubing. i dont like the rubber rings. plus i feel i lose way more fish with the hook point running the length of the bait neko style. they last forever with a half in section of clear heat shrink where you put the hook through.
Great video. Thank you for not making it 10 minutes long. I clicked the first video I could find that wasn’t 8 minutes long. Delivered straight forward information
Man you always gave good advice thank you for your advice. I just started a 30 mile kayak camping trip with my family & my wife coworkers family about 3 - 4 hours ago for Father's Day & am going to use the wacky worm for a lil bit. It's very hot & they have not biting to well. We just stopped to take a quick break & put some sunblock on my arms and feet cuz I'm just getting over a severe Sunburn and I can't afford to get them burnt again. But we are having a blast so far. Only one swimmer so far my 2nd son Chase flip over on his kayak. Happy Father's Day to you & I hope you have a good Father's Day weekend.
@@wendellfishing okay I will do that. So far it's been a good trip. Both kids are really enjoying too. Water was feels good for as hot as it was today.
@@wendellfishing went back out last night again and beat my PB again. I fished my whole life. Watching your videos actually taught me HOW to hunt bass.
I have fished on and off since I was a little kid but just started watching your videos for tips and tricks. Had a chance to try this today and I caught the biggest fish I have personally caught. Didn’t realize I didn’t have a measuring tape or the scale handy but best estimate was 18” and maybe 2# largemouth bass. Excited to try again soon. Thanks for all the helpful tips!
Something I learned from watching another pro on a RUclips video is put two rubber O-rings on your wacky rig worm and crisscross them like a ex and hook your hook through the right way so you get more hook sets because the hook is not in line with the worm it’s in line with the top of the fishes mouth. I can’t remember whose video it was but it was pretty cool. I lose less worms out of my O-ring because there’s two O-rings on my senko and you’re just guaranteed to hook it because the hook is oriented the right way going through the X that you make with the two rubber O-rings in the middle crisscrossed. I hope I explained it clear enough for you to understand and maybe for some other folks too.
Love this video, I personally won my first tournament not too long ago and very proud! Anyways bro another banger of a video remember the grind never stop
Ty for this informative video 👍no weights or anything on your line ? One more question please ! I like to also fish with live bait what length leter 0:090:09 should I have from my weight to the hook please and tyvm
no weights for the wacky worm... it will sink on it's own and that action will illicit a strike. When it comes to Live Bait.. at 4:10 into this video..I talk a little bit about how to set up your line using live bait.. targeting bluegill. ruclips.net/video/USOY1Ijwi7E/видео.html
You should check out the Arsenal neko-wacky tool kit. It uses silicone bands instead of O-rings. They have different diameter bands for different size worms. I have it, and it works really well.
I’m using a Gamakatsu 3/0 EWG hook on mine. I might need to dial it down some. I don’t get snagged that often and I do catch a lot of bass on it, but I think I could do better if I could get it into tighter areas of cover.
I have good luck with Yum Dingers plus no way I use a ring, I do like the idea of clear shrink tubing, have not tried that yet though. I would say biggest issue I have with a wacky worm is feeling the strike, really have to pay attention to your line. I would agree I ALWAYS have a wacky worm tied on, it catches fish!!!!
Hey Boss, I run straight 8lb fluoro and now that I make my own senko's.. just hook through the worm. I have used the crossovers and they work great just $$$
Question: if you use an o ring for a wacky rig the hook is facing in a different direction than without the o ring . Does it make a difference in the hook up ?
This helps me out a ton. I never finished the wacky worm but I got a kayak and I would definitely be trying out your tips. Thank you. Also helps that you fish around Ohio 👍

@@wendellfishing I got it from NDYak angler on RUclips lol. I tested it myself though. It's legit.

Thanks man.. I try to keep it real
That was so much fun to watch. Jay and I thank you for a lovely dinner tonight❤️
I loved it as well! Thanks Val for all you and Jay do!
I see a fine cigar is one of your preferred accessories. I enjoy said accessory as well. Helps keep the skeeters at bay, too.
From time to time :) I mean.. Skeeter repellant
Great video and tips. I never knew that attaching the rubber rings could cut the worms in half. Thanks so much for your channel!
You bet!

Great info! The wacky always catches.
Allllll Day! I'm actually going out tomorrow without it on purpose because when it's on my yak.. I can't put it down. Gotta master some other lures.

Good vid! Great information. Should def do more vids like this. Rigging & how to. 👍
Right on TopWaterWes…. I think you are right… more on the way
Great advice!!!! Still trying
to figure this one out

I landed my first Wacky rig fish yesterday. Lipped it for you🎉
I thought I felt something amazing in the world happen.
The wacky worm is my go-to for catching bass! Always works like a charm 👍
Right on MK! I decided to not take any wacky worm on board tomorrow. Gotta master some other lures!

Right on.. I learn something everyday. You would think at .90cents a worm (for some brands) I would pay more attention :)

I've heard of guys having luck in the 1-3/0 range for the wacky worm hook. If it works.. then it works... can't argue with that.
Use the senkos that are ripped in half to make Ned rigs.

Yeah,, I gotta try out that shrink wrap idea… sounds solid
Like my friend Wndell
Thanks boss!
Heading out daybreak tomorrow. Gotta wacky tied on.
Right on. … let me know how it goes!
@@wendellfishing nothing on the wacky... Tough lake, tough day.
Just ran into this vid, what are your thoughts on the VMC Crossover system? Seems like you tie your braid directly to the hook, no mono leader?

I prefer my hooks to be perpendicular to the work. I never fish them horizontal to the worm
@@wendellfishing thank you.
I wonder if this will work for salt water
I've heard it does
Everyone says use a clear leader what do you think
I don't use leaders.. straight fluoro
i love the wacky rig but i break so much more senkos compared to the texas rig
Big facts there...I have gone through hundreds this season already
I like it right threw the worm.
I’m with ya
I use 3/0 hooks without problem. Maybe I’ll try 1/0
Hey, whatever gets it done

Right on Asher... the wacky slays in OHIO for sure. Where you from in Ohio?
In Lancaster area
I bought the hooks today, octopus size 4
Im no fan of the wacky rings...i love the wacky rig but i feel it needs to be original, like gary Yamamoto does, just hook it in the worm
If you are losing worms you are trying to set the hook to soon.

Remember after 5 tugs.. your just playing with yourself..
