There are a couple issues that weren't mentioned 1.) You have to consider the colour of the wall when bouncing that will dictate the cast onto the subject 2.) High ceilings can add challenges. In such cases, I'd recommend using the flash manual mode and beefing up the power. The TTL (Through The Lens) mode assumes that the flash is pointing directly at the subject. Frankly, I'd recommend that a person REAL THE MANUAL and learn what EVERY setting of the flash means... and experiment, experiment, experiment. Flash can be very tricky.
[ADDENDUM] Way too many people are calling themselves a "professional" photographer who don't know jack sh** about photography-what little they know is comprised of "hacks" (shortcuts to actually learning). An average 11-year-old would be CURIOUS of what every button on a flash unit does. But there are "adults" who don't know and DON'T CARE. I question a person's claim of being a "professional" the nanosecond I detect that they don't know anything about the buttons and settings of their camera. If you want to be ignorant, buy a point-and-shoot. You just point and shoot. After all, that's all you're doing with your fancy camera. If you're OFFENDED by anything I've said-in only means, you're NOT a professional photographer. PASSION is innate (translated: it's either in you are it's not). If it's not your photos will expose your game.

Very superb video. But when you don't have white walls only solution is using white celling if you don't want any colorcast . Also if have realized that if the person or object in room is further away you need to increase iso. Also stirofoam celling are like small reflector because lamps on cellings blocking flash. Flash can kill ambient lighting easily. In smaller red circus tent flash with 3000k or 4000k white balance helped me to get rid of ugly red photos and get more natural light with bouncing.

How can I manage a flash having a tiny fixed flash as well as a swivel one just above the little one and most of the time I over expose the shots?!! Thanks a lot for conical bounce idea and logically it's perfect and I must try it out!! Nevertheless, have a great Christmas and a very happy New Year, Andrew and everyone attached to you!!

Good information, except the quality and temperature of the light depends on the colour of the wall. Anything apart from a white coloured wall will change the temperature of the image drastically.
@@ArtKingjr If the ceiling is to high then bounce off of a wall. I can't remember a ceiling that was to high, sure there are some I just haven't run into them yet. My home ceilings are 9' but I manage to use them with bounce flash.

Not only that, how high the ceiling is and the amount of pwr needed. TTL is too iffy to me.
@@ArtKingjr If the ceiling is to high then bounce off of a wall. I can't remember a ceiling that was to high, sure there are some I just haven't run into them yet. My home ceilings are 9' but I manage to use them with bounce flash.
Hey Andrew and team... I want to join some of the E-learning courses but I want to know, is it possible to download the video lessons? With my bad internet, i normally prefer to watch content locally instead of streaming it. Please let me know.
