Great video on your thoughts after using the mirrors! I'm going to buy mine on Friday and look forward to the install and all the benefits you mentioned in your video. I appreciated your realistic approach and review. Thank you!
Thanks and you are welcome! It’s really worth the money. I’m extremely happy with it and it’s been great this winter. I’m sure you will really like it especially if you do any towing.
I have a 2018 F150 also. Not sure what engine you have. I have the 2.7 V6. It tows fantastic! I just ordered these mirrors for my truck. I hope they do as well as yours are doing. I have some clamp-on tow mirrors that I have been using. They are good quality but they don't fit properly on my truck. I'm not a fan of spending lots of money but if these work as well as yours it will be worth it and I won't have to keep messing with clamp on mirrors that don't fit properly. Thank you for this video!
I'm sure they will do well on your truck. I've been really happy with them even after a new england winter. It's nice to have OEM quality on the truck!
Nice upgrade. Not sure I would that for my application, hauling my boat I haven't really had visibility problems. But I could see that for a camper or cargo trailer for sure.
Yea, it isn't necessary unless you are towing at max width. My snowmobile trailer is max width and I definitely need it to see around. It's made my life much easier. I also like the smaller convex mirrors on the bottom as I am maneuvering around things in the yard. Thanks for checking it out!
I probably didn't. I just did a few tips on it rather than the details of the full install. The Boost video shows exactly where it goes. It was a miss on my part with this video. I should have done a full detailed install.
I don't believe so but you'd need to confirm. I believe both have the 8 pin connector, while the lariats and above had a 22 pin? or something like that.
@SmackeysGarage Now that you've had these mirrors for a year, would you still recommend them? I've been towing my boats without extended mirrors for a while now but starting to consider the upgrade. It's easy to loose the trailer placement in the passenger side mirror
Yea 100% will still recommend them. They have held up great with no degradation or issues at all. Work well in winter for towing and the manual extend/fold all still works great. When I get a new truck, I'll probably end up getting these mirrors again. I couldn't see myself not running tow mirrors on a truck. It does take some time to find the placement you like for the smaller mirrors on the bottom but when you get it dialed in, it is great for towing. It's also really nice to have a lot more visibility when not towing.
Thank you for the insights! Like you said, these things ain’t cheap so reviews and feedback are super helpful. Much appreciated! Glad to hear they’re holding up well.
Question I have a 2016 Xlt 5.0 crew cab and I wanna install tow mirrors but my mirrors are basic will the tow mirrors with the turn signal still work ?
Do they have turn signals on your stock ones? They were probably 8 pin like mine. I had to run a wire to make my DRL work. Was included in the instructions
I have a 2016 Ford f150. And took my tow mirrors to a lighting specialist to do wiring. However, after driving it, the interior lighting would brighten and the Climate control would go off.. any idea?
Ddi you run into any issues with temperature sensor in the mirror? I've seen other comments about it but don't know if it applies to my 2020 xlt (similar to your truck).
Yes they will. My truck didn't have DRL and I was still able to add them, but it was more wiring. EDIT WITH NEW LINK: boostautoparts.com/products/2015-2020-f150-tow-mirrors?rq=th_ford%7Eyr_2016%7Emk_f-150&variant=33715135283335
So my stock mirrors don’t have a blinker or any lights on them, do you know if there is any extra wiring to install this mirror for me since it has a blinker?
I really think it depends on your year and options. I believe even the XLs had the option for turn signal mirrors so the connection is most likely there. I would reach out to Boost directly through email and see what they say. I’m sure they get the question often. If you wanted running lights on the mirrors you would definitely have to run a wire like I did.
boostautoparts.com/products/2015-2020-f150-tow-mirrors?rq=th_ford~yr_2018~mk_f-150 This is the site I purchased them from. You can configure them as you wish.
Boost's youtube channel has a good install video that goes through that. I only meant to show tips and tricks for people who are installing them not the full install. For the next videos I'll make sure to include everything.
Aren’t they so much louder than the smaller ones I have the huge tow mirrors and want to get smaller ones for my 2019 super crew cab 4 doors I don’t want to have the jet sound in my window. Notice he says wind noise three or four times. Hit me up if you want to trade small ones for these large tow ones they are brand new I do not want them and won’t keep them. They were on it when I got it used at 60,000 miles
They aren't that louder than the OEM ones. You can definitely notice a little more wind with the windows down, but overall with the windows up i do not notice any difference. I'd personally trade off a little more wind noise for a lot more visibility which these mirrors provide.
Mine were not Ford OEM whoever out them on seems like possibly tucked the window rain guard behind it thus stretching it and then they over them for some reason. Thanks for the input
The Boost RUclips video is really good. I was just trying to provide some helpful hints on top of their install video. I’ll take it as feedback next time and include it.
It's no worse than the stock mirrors that they replaced. That was one of my biggest worries with aftermarket mirrors. They do vibrate some, but I believe it's inline with the stock mirrors. I wasn't able to tell a difference from switching from stock.
@Smackey's Garage great, thank you! I may have to return these Amazon ones and go with the Boost Auto ones. The vibration drives me crazy haha. And the temp sensor has been about 5 degrees higher than the actual temp. Not a huge deal, but bugs me haha.
The fact that you updated us after a good amount of time with the mirrors is such an admirable thing. Best video in my opinion, thank you sir!!
Glad to hear you liked the style! It’s really the only true way where I feel like you can get to know the product before you review it.

Thanks for the great video and taking the time to show others how to it themselves!
Glad to help. Thanks for watching!
Great video! Great follow up on their use after some time. Thank you!!
No problem. Thanks for watching!
Great video, thanks for the very helpful review.
Thanks! I recently installed their newer style tow mirrors and have a video on those as well.

Very nice mirror upgrade!👍
Thanks Mitch! I'm really liking them.
My original mirrors have 360 camera. Is it possible to move it or will it be on the mirror I will buy new?
I checked their site quickly. It looks like it either comes with the camera or is camera enabled. Might be worth reaching out to them.
Looks great, now do my truck! 😄
If only you were on the east coast! 🤣
Great Video.
Thanks Harvey!
you didn t show connection of the daytime wire. unless i missed it
I probably didn't. I just did a few tips on it rather than the details of the full install. The Boost video shows exactly where it goes. It was a miss on my part with this video. I should have done a full detailed install.
Nice!! They finally got smart and put the connector on the mirror, Instead of running it down behind the door panel. #BuiltByBo
Yes, they did. Makes things much easier!
Do the lower WIDE mirrors, adjust, maybe not via motor/remotely...but can you push them around to tweak their angle any?
\I'm like 99% sure they do, but I will double check tomorrow.
They do manually adjust
So what exactly did that extra cable plug into?
ruclips.net/video/Q_DCafq6TkI/видео.html
This is Boosts video where they go more into the technical details of exactly which pin.
So do these mirrors eliminate the electronic folding feature?
Boost offers a set with electronic folding. You'd have to look through their options but it is a dropdown on their site.
My truck is a XL model, doesn’t have heated mirrors, I assume the power mirror electrical connector is different?
I don't believe so but you'd need to confirm. I believe both have the 8 pin connector, while the lariats and above had a 22 pin? or something like that.
If you just want the signal to work when you install them do you still have to go in the door panel
My understanding is if you have signal only mirrors you do not need to go into the door panel.

That doesn't sound right... What tow mirrors do you have? OEM or Aftermarket
Ddi you run into any issues with temperature sensor in the mirror? I've seen other comments about it but don't know if it applies to my 2020 xlt (similar to your truck).
I did not. My temperature sensor operates correctly as it should with this mirror.
Is there a different way to hook up the cable?
Not a good way. It's a pain, but after you get one done the second is easier...Getting it through the door and boot is the hardest part.
Will tow mirrors work on a 2016 xl f-150 with no turn signals or heated mirrors???
Yes they will. My truck didn't have DRL and I was still able to add them, but it was more wiring.

How is the vibration while driving? I just bought a cheap set on Amazon and on the highway they have horrible vibration. Thanks!
